Summary: Not bad!!!
Review: I've been playing the Madden NFL series for a long time and the 2002 version is significantly better than the 2001 version. The improved graphics and gameplay (A.I is smarter now) makes it fun and challenging. The scoreboards in the stadium now reflect actually time left in quarter, the actual score and other stats of the down.

What was disappointing was the fact that they used very much the same sound bites from the 2001 version so the color commentary is boring to someone who has played previous versions. Sometimes the color commentary makes no sense whatsover.

Overall, a good upgrade but beware of the system requirements. You need RAM and a good graphics card loaded with RAM as well.

Summary: The PC version has serious gameplay issues
Review: I've heard good things about the PS2 version of M2k2, but the PC version has serious gameplay issues.

Namely, the defensive secondary is nonexistent. 500-600 yard games from 3rd string QBs with bad offensive linemen and poor receivers are the order of the day. You could assemble a team of All-Star defensive players and pit them against the worst NFL Europe team and their 3rd string QB, and I guarantee you the NFL Europe team's QB will throw for over 350 yards and a QB rating over 100. They'll probably lose, but the scores in M2k2 games are very, very high. 65-54 is NOT an unusual score. I've tried every fix imaginable, and nothing helps. If EA patches this big problem, this could be a great game. The graphics are much better than last year's version.

Summary: 2001 was much better
Review: If you're looking for a realistic football sim, definitly DO NOT buy Madden 2002.

#1. The pass defense is WAY out of whack! The computer will complete about 90% of it's passes against you, and complete all of it's long bombs. I don't know how on earth EA let this game get out! (and every TE is a superstar catching 15 passes a game)

#2. The screen pass is now impossible to do. Half the time the ball lands in front of the player, and even if you player does catch it, you are very lucky to get back to the line of scrimmage.

#3. The computer can't run the ball worth jack. The game play is so unbalanced in this way.

Ea also got rid of the accel clock feature, so you have to play 8 minute quarters to have a realistic game. (as in number of plays)

Don't listen to the reviews that say this is the greatest sim ever, they are most likely marketing plants from EA sports. They do this with every game. Go to any Madden forum and you will hear the wide spread complaints about this game.

Summary: Madden 2002 PC version is a sight to behold.
Review: Just for coming so very close to the Playstation 2 version, I give this game a 5-Star rating.

Just a caution, this game requires a 600MHz Processor and a 32MB video card with 3D capabilities. If your system meets these requirements then you will be able to fully enjoy all the features of this game. It's brilliant, alot of fun. If you like the Playstation 2 version, this is the game for you.

Summary: Doesn't work
Review: Madden 2002 for the pc is very good graphically. An occasional frame rate problem is the only thing wrong with that. (5/5)
The sound is good, but the commentators are stupid. when i return a kick for a touchdown, they always say, "you know how baseball haas these guys who can just close out games? Well football has thes guys who can just flat out return kicks." There is more bad stuff, but I will leave it. (2/5)
Gaameplay is good. (5/5) Another bad thing though is defense. Exceept against the run, the defense iss a sieve. For example, in my franchise, My team has allowed -20 yds rushing, but 300 yds passsing a game. But the other teams defense stinks as well. I am averaging 320 yds passing plus 140 yds rushing. I win by an average of 84 to 10. i once scored 271 pooints, but the computer only went up to 255. But the game is really fun, so I gave it 4 stars.

Summary: Madden 2002: Rocks the scale
Review: Madden 2002 is the best by far and away. After a dissapointing reinovation between Maden 2000 and MAdden 2001, this one will automatically point out more action and fun.
Madden 2002 has out done itself again by adding the realness of the stadium and its surroundings all together. The Sun glare is set on your screen as if you were there. with more celebrations, Blitzes, and tighter defenses it will be a sure time consuming game. With the cards you can earn you can pick where you want the Super Bowl for your season, Get a different stadium like in the clouds, on pavement, and in front of 200,000 fans when earning cards. Another thing you can get with cards( which you arn when doing specific things while playing) IS get a team of gunmen, or even a team of mascots, you play you win!
There is no downside to this game, even while play selection you can see the team in the huddle zoomed in or out, to ad to the likeness of the game. .... This Game is all out and would recomed it to anybody.

Summary: Madden- a series to love
Review: Madden football has been out ever since the creation on Super Nintendo, and from then to now, there has been no downfall in quality, gameplay, or excitement. Using new "create-a-team" mode you can design your own team to your liking, with a real Fantasy Draft. I enjoy this game so much because of the realistic gameplay. The defenses are tough, and offenses are hard to control. The only down-fall in buying 2002 is that some of the players are not up to date with the new NFL year, the has changed so much since the last season

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: THIS GAME ROCKS!
Review: Madden is definently better tthis year. last years was mediocre, but this year was a great improvment. The franchise mode is awsome, and with the cheats, you can unlock 200 more teams! i play it all day and all I play is the franchise mode. If your are thinking of getting this game, GET IT!

Summary: The Best Madden Game
Review: Madden NFL 2002 is the best game made by Madden. It has the best graphics of all. When I turned 9 I got it for a present. I also have Madden NFL '99 which is so boring because it is so old you cant get updates for the rosters, uniforms and stadiums for example the Redskins, Patriots, Rams, and a couple more teams have new uniforms. Also the Steelers have moved from Three Rivers Stadium to Heinz Ketchup Field. If your wondering why I'mtalking about Madden NFL '99 is that I lost Madden NFL 2002 or I misplaced it. The player on the cover which I consider not to be is Daunte Culpepper. I might get Madden NFL 2003 but 2002 will probably still be considerd the best. It is a golden game so rush to your computer or your nearest electronics store and buy Madden NFL 2002!!!
