Summary: Madden 2002 for president!!
Review: I couldn't believe the differences in this game! Anyone who says otherwise has some predetermined bias towards the pc or the maddden series. i have a playstation 2 and bought madden 2002 for both. i can't stop playing the pc version. if you're thinking about buying this game, do it! if you're not thinking about buying this game, buy it! if you're not thinking at all, buy it anyway!!

Summary: Best Football Game on the Market!
Review: I dare you to try and find a PC or console based NFL game that is up to par with Madden 2002! This game is absolutely phenomenal. The graphics are incredible with a much improved Summerall and Madden voiceover for the play-by-play and commentary. I'll admit that Leslie Visser's halftime and opening reports are annoying and repetitive, but its perhaps the only negative that I've found. There are a handful of bugs, but many of them have been corrected by the first update patch. This game is on par with other EAsports games including NHL2001 which I consider to be the best and most realistic sports game ever.

Summary: Great Game
Review: I enjoy Madden very much. It's given me many hours of playing time and plenty of modes to choose from. In the first mode(exhibition)you can play with all 31 NFL teams(including the expansion Houston Texans) and several NFL Europe teams. I really liked the graphics and lighting changes. The second mode(practice) lets you catch up on your skills with an NFL team. You can also create players and teams in this game. And finally franchise,in franchise you can play with any NFL team through several years of play, I love how after the season you can participate in the NFL draft and sign free agents. The only drawback of this game is the great games option. Extremly hard to win.

Summary: Graphics are great, realism is not so great
Review: I generally buy a new Maaden game in the even number years: I had 98 and 2000 (coincidence, mainly). I skipped the Madden 2001 for no reason other than I was satisfied with 2000. I was ready for an updated version and got 2002. The graphics are excellent, much improved over older versions. I also like the Interface, but have not played online yet.

With that, let me say:The AI is horrible. There are a number of complaints on the EA message boards about the DB AI, and I must agree with them. DBs going to the wrong places, receivers all making one-handed leaping grabs. Tony Banks racking up 578 yards against Tampa Bay? Tampa Bay racking up 68 points against anyone? Frustrating. If EA can fix this issue and make it more realistic, then this game will be worth 5 stars.

Summary: Game Of all Games
Review: I have purchased just about every sports game there is. This one, is the most realistic, terrific graphics, and never stops surprising me. If you want a game that will change what you percieve to be reality in the NFL, this is it.

Also, just as a side note, people complain about this game (and others). 99.9% of the time, it's people who don't download the patches that fixed the problem they are having.

Summary: Madden 2002
Review: I have to agree with everything the last person wrote. The computer passes like a god..... it is almost impossible to get through his line. He can't run worth a lick though, making the game very one dimensional and uninteresting on defense. Almost every game I have played ended in scores of 50+ points to 30+ points. If the AI was better on Defense and the computer ran more and better on offense, this game would be awesome. Also there is no option to create custom plays. On a good note, the graphics are incredible and the motion of the players are ultra-realistic. Just a few tweaks and this game would be incredible (I hope EA is listening?!?)

Summary: Madden 2002 scores!
Review: I love all the major EA Sports games especially NFL, NHL and Triple Play Baseball. All Of EA's stuff is very good. I cannot wait for NHL 2002 also. Madden NFL 2002 is such a great game.

Summary: Some Flaws to Make Up for 2003
Review: I played only the demo of this game, but I played it several times and enough to comment on it, though the demo concept is simple: Game starts in the 4th with 5:00 to play, select the Ravens or the Giants and continue the game which is 24-7 Ravens.

I played the Ravens and found that the ease of completing passes (I was 12/14 with 253 yards at the end) was ridiculous. I simply repeated the Shotgun 4WR Hail Mary play to go deep , 50 yards each time. The AI of this game is good, but the passing defense is awful. I also got bored of the endless "Hut Hut, Huuutttt Hut Hut Hut Hut H-Hut Hut Hut Huuut Huuut" droning from Kerry Collins, who would give the other team time to go into the stands and get a hot dog. There were very few flags, except False Start flags. You can't taunt the opponents, there's no key to push the other player, etc. It's also basically easy to have the punter pass to any old guy on 4th and 25. I liked the plays part, the graphics, and the simple gameplay. But when the game was over, it was 61-13 for me.

Review: I think that yourcompany is really great. I'v only bought one version of madden. But I really think that its worth the money. Keep making games like madden and you will have a great company.

Summary: One of the BEST Patches I have ever downloaded
Review: I was so (...) when I brought this game, that I considered returning it. 800 yard passing games were a regular occurence. I even subbed in Warren Sapp at QB and he threw for 550 yards and six scores. All that has changed with their most recent patch. This is football the way it was meant to be played. You will be amazed at the change.
