Summary: What more can I say - don't buy it!
Review: The reviews pointing out the major problems in this game are correct in every regard. I feel like I was completely taken advantage of in buying this 'game'. This product is definitely not of commercial quality. Their subscriber base is apparently dwindling, and for good reason. It is a travesty that a product this bad can actually be sold in stores. I wish I could give it 0 stars.

Summary: Horrible!
Review: What can you say about a game with an installer that bluescreens your PC?

Well you could say that it was the highpoint!

Seriously, this is probably the worst game I have ever seen. The company is completely unresponsive. The gameplay is very shallow. And there are so many bugs it's unplayable.

But above all, the company no-Funcom is simply incompetant. They are unable to deal with a project of this size. They do not patch bugs. Patches frequently add more bugs than they remove. And there is no customer service at all.

I really can't warn you enough to stay away from this game. I play Everquest and Ultima Online. First logged into Ultima almost four years ago! I played Asheron's Call for about a year. All fine games, each has good things and some bad things--play them all and take your choice!

This is not a fine game. It is the absolutely worst massively multiplayer roleplaying game ever released.

It's common to say that there are problems with every launch and that's true, but this isn't like that. That's what I thought. You read the complaints and every game has its set of chronic whiners. No, don't think that. This isn't like that. This game STINKS. It's horrible and unplayable.

Caveat Emptor!

Summary: Buggy and broken beyond repair
Review: This game that the gamming community was so eager to get their hands on unfortunately turned out to be a bug ridden lagfest. After months of patches and updates its bizzar but the game actually seems worse than it was on release. If you are looking for a good stable game to play I can unfortunately not recommend this one.

Summary: Sadly, not worth the money
Review: Anarcy Online was released upon the public too soon.

Instead of being able to play the game, many players are forced into being testers for a game that needed a few more months (at least!) of development time.

I highly advise that people wait until after christmas to see if Funcom is able to get it together... My money says this game does not stay online for a full year, though I could be wrong.

Wait for it. It ain't ready yet.

Review: Stellar Graphics, Intrecite design and, Unlimited single playability make this game very enjoyable.

Summary: Anarchy Online, potential unfullfilled
Review: Anarchy Online had a great premise; a sci-fi, futuristic setting on a distant planet where 2 to 3 factions warred over the fate of the world. Graphics are stunning and the music is nice. But it becomes anarchy from there.

Gameplay is repetitive, there are no 'wow' factors. The entire game is a kill, level, gear up race, made worse by the fact that you must get an entirely new set of armor every 5 levels just to stay competitive.

The game is broken in many many ways. Exploits are rampant and at times it is impossible to play the game 'legit'. Customer service is nonexistent. Each new patch that fixes an exploit or crash bug creates, I kid you not, at least 2 or more of said exploits or crashes.

Be warned, that at anytime, the servers can crash causing you to lose valuable credits, xp, items, and even SKILL POINTS you obtained since the last time you saved or zoned. Since the game is barely beta quality, heavy changes are being instituted by Funcom to balance classes, however being done at such a late date, is only angering the customer base when their characters are nerfed.

In short, buy this game at your own risk, I would recommend holding out a couple weeks for Dark Ages of Camelot, it looks to be a lot stabler than AO, but hehe, I thought AO was 'bread from heaven' when it first came out too.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!
Review: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!! Funcom has completely astounded me by their total lack of empathy for their consumers. This game is a complete waste of money and Funcom has to be the worst company I have ever bought anything from before. NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, YOU CAN'T CALL THEM, AND THEIR EMAIL IS SET ON AUTOMATIC RESPONSE which means you will never get an answer to your problems! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MORE MONEY! They should be ashamed of themselves!

Summary: No Fun!
Review: What had the potential to be one of the greatest online games has since it's very shaky launch gone steadily if not downhill, somewhat sideways. They fix one problem and make two more in the precess. This game still has so many bugs, gameplay faults and class imbalances, two months after launch that I cannot recommend even trying to play it. I say the pefect MMORPG is yet to be created. My money is on Blizzard and WOW. If you can't wait for that, be very wary of jumping right in at launch. You WILL end up being a paid bug finder.

Summary: Anarcy Online: A great let-down
Review: Anarchy Online will dazzle you with some of the best graphics ever seen in MMORPG's (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). The problem is, you can expect so see a slideshow rather than animation even with a 1GHz CPU, 512 megs of Ram, Geforce II Ultra video card, and 7200-RPM IMB deskstar hard drive.

Game balance, which is of ultimate importance in this particular genre, is nonexistent. Patches to correct this problem wildly overcompensate time and again.

Customer support is a figment over the player's imagination. No telephone support is offered. The player's options when faced with a game-breaking problem are to use the in-game petition tool /petition to call a FunCom support staff member to you (although I waited for over 2 hours before deciding to use option #2), or #2 /terminate and commit virtual suicide.

Billing is disorganized and confusing, and I would have preferred to be billed on the same day each month. I sincerely hope they will stop charging my credit card after I got the cancellation process to function properly. Some former players report that they are still being charged.

Bottom line: save your money for a finished product.
