Summary: Editor's Pick, 5 Stars out of 5! (ZDNet)
Review: "Solitaire Mah-Jongg never looked so good... 5 Star Mahjongg takes the solitaire tile-matching game to new graphical levels. You'll get to choose your tile faces, pick from a range of challenging tile layouts, modify the background, and choose whether you want guaranteed solvability. Every game is different and the wide range of choices insure that you won't get bored..."

Summary: small screen size on game dissapoints gamer
Review: After looking at the previous reviews of 5 Star Mahjongg, I never read anything about the fact it isn't full screen (or even close to it for that matter.) I'd need a magnifying glass just to enjoy playing this game... what a waste.

Summary: Not as good as Activision's Shanghai, but not bad for [price]
Review: Contrary to what the previous 2 posters said, this is a fun game with difficulty and lots of options for play styles. The screen CAN be enlarged if you go to the options section (a very large button can be turned on to make the game full screen).

As for downloading, according to my computer the download was 1500+ KB. ANY computer can handle that. I have DSL so it took about a minute to download.

This is a fun, simple version of mahjongg for all of you who love this addictive game. I recommend Shanghai first, but this isn't a bad, cheap alternative.

Summary: Poor visuals
Review: I am not happy with this edition. Although it has some good score saving tools, the visual clarity of the tiles is not up to par compared to the other games i have used, e.g. Hoyle's Mahjong.

Summary: A Best Buy!
Review: I've tried every mahjongg game I could get my hands on, but this is positively the best one for the money. It has more features and playability than just about every mahjongg game out there, including much more expensive ones. I'm having a difficult time getting bored with 48 varied layouts and unlimited games per layout....

What really puts it over the top for me, though, is the unique tilesets: Forget playing the game, the tilesets are just plain BEAUTIFUL. There is an excellent rendition of the traditional "Classic" tileset for purists, but the 5 other tilesets mimic art from various periods in history: cave drawings, ancient art, Egyptian hieroglyphics, medieval stained glass, and pop art. They are colorful and appealing, very interesting, and the design of each set works incredibly well for playing mahjongg. These could be the new "Classic" tilesets.

It's nice to see some great quality tilesets instead of the boatload of ugly, useless tilesets that come with most programs.

Summary: Download disaster
Review: If you can get this software downloaded, it might just be enjoyable.

Summary: A solid mahjongg game
Review: This isn't going to blow you away, but it's a good example of the solitaire mahjongg game. The tiles are attractive and there are plenty of layout variations to keep the games interesting. There was no difficulty downloading the game, and there is a full-screen option so you'll have no problems. This isn't my favorite mahjongg game -- that would be Moraff's Maximum Mahjongg 2 -- but it covers the bases in a fun manner.
