Summary: Pretty good, considering how old it is...
Review: I just recently bought this collection, although I already had the regular game. The reason I did this is that the Heart of Winter Extension is not available by itself anymore. The price still makes it a good deal.

This game is of course quite old already, and one can def. tell, although for its time, this was an amazing game. I still enjoyed playing it even today.

One of my criticisms of the original game is also true for this collection: There are no printed manuals. Even the advertised strategy guide is only included as a PDF file. I guess for 10 bucks, that's OK, but still...

Note that the extension (Heart of Winter) game is a bit on the tough side, especially if you intend to use your original party from the main game. The Extension is def. much harder than the original game was.

Summary: Just another RPG
Review: I like the game, but to me there is nothing that really stands out about it. It does follow D&D rules pretty good, even with the attacks and rolls to save and etc. The graphics are average. One thing that gets me is the fact that I feel like I go back and forth back and forth. My girlfriend walked in the other day and said, "I see you play this game a lot and it always looks like you are doing the same exact thing." That would be going back to town all the time. BUT, that is just my experience and I'm only partially through the game. Good story line and stories behind the weapons and seperate quests. But for the most part I find the game to be boring.

Summary: Baldur's Gate to Icewind Dale
Review: Well, I bought this thinking it would be another Baldur's Gate which was fun for me, but the pace of BG was a bit slow. I was surprised to find out that Icewind Dale let you kick more arse and level up much higher than BG. Also the New spells and multitude of weapons was awesome. The missions were designed well, and the graphics are astounding. If you like D&D rules, and if you're in the mood for a great tactical combat RPG with high levelling, this game is for you. Also, this game runs on most computers, even with low quality hardware (like mine) which I thought was a plus. The expansion is also included in the collection, which I thought was a really good deal. Lots of enemies = lots of fun. Definately a great game.
