Summary: A game that shall be remembered...
Review: Unreal Tournament is so good a game in terms of strategy and its ability to satisfy desires only its fans can comprehend, that it will be remembered for years to come. This game is a milestone in the gaming industry. No other first person shooter, not even UT 2003, comes near in terms of the fanaticism this game can generate. Hats off to the creators of UT!

Summary: UT: Still The Champion of First Person Shooters
Review: It's been 4 or 5 years since the release of the orginal Unreal Tournament and no one has yet to top this amazing game. I play a lot of these kinds of games and consider myself to be qualified to speak on most of them. I've been playing UT about 3 years and I have yet to be bored by this fast moving, skill based, arena shooting game. There is a thriving network of internet players despite a subsequent release of Unreal Tournament 2003. UT 2003 makes a rather bad attempt to resemble Quake Arena, it's closest competitor, but the hardcore players have stuck with the original. Why??? The online subculture of UT is almost fanatical. Long time UT players and programmers have created new maps and weapons modifications that have outshined anything that Infrogames (the UT developer) can offer in a newer edtion of UT. The rise of the Zark Assault Rifle, which is a cleverly modified sniper rifle have made online play so dazzling that few veteran players will even try UT 2003. The map scenarios are infinite and mods are wickedly deadly. There is vibrant network of clan based online players who regularly do team competition in deathmatch, capture the flag, assault and domination. The online players are far more skilled than any of the higher game levels, so there is always a challenging match. The online environment is friendly and welcomes newbies to competition. Because of UT, I am pretty much finished with paying 50 bucks for a game that doesn't have an online compenent. I recently bought Hitman 2, a single player shooter and became so bored with slow moving action, that I was back on the internet playing UT within an hour. So for me, the best fun I can have with my pants on or off, is a good old frag match of UT...still the champion of first person shooters.

Summary: This game is to this day still one of my favorites!
Review: This is a game that is fun anytime. I found the single player game a total blast o rama. It is non stop action. Ive played so many first person shooters and this game set the standard for sure. The develpers and producers have since release tons of official extras for this game to double the replay value. They have added downloadable map packs with new music, character models, voices, and freshness! Even with all the new fancy games out, I still end up playing this all the time. My freinds all love it too and that is where the game really shines: mulitplayer. Take this game online. If you dont have the featured map(there are zillions made by fans) then the game downloads it for you right before you start blasting! It's fool proof.

100% action
100% fun
100% replayability
100% worth the price

I already bought two copies back in the day for full price, which I never do. It was that good and worth it to buy it again after losing the fisrt copy. Like I said, I never pay full retail for games, but this one was an excellent exception.

Summary: Best value on the market.
Review: Simply put, if you are even remotely a fan of FPS, and you can part with $...(... measly bucks!), there is no reason in the world you shouldn't have this game. Considering the amount of play I have gotten out of this thing, it would be well worth ten times its current value. I also have UT2K3 which is nice, but I have to say I like the original a little bit better. There are still many active servers and loads of players, so don't worry any age issues. The graphics are very well done for 1999, and you don't have to have the most powerful computer in the world. But most importantly, it's FUN. The shock rifle is one of the most fun weapons to use in any game, and while you have your FPS basics (rocket launcher, machine gun), there are some weird out-there weapons unique to UT like a gun that shoots razor blades and a bio-goop rifle. And even if you're new to FPS, there are a lot of difficulty settings in SP mode depending on your skill, and each game has a tutorial to get you started out.

Like I said, IMO it's the best value on the market today. And believe me, some of those $... games are ..., but if you do some searching you can find some real gems like this one.

Summary: awesome
Review: This game is the best shoot em up, but also has tons of gaming for one players with missions and stradegy.

Completely the best game ever. Unreal 2003 is not as good, BTW

Summary: More playable than Counter-Strike
Review: The playability of Unreal Tournament is fantastic, even in single-player mode where the fun lasts long after you've completed Half-Life. The graphics look great even today. The problem with Unreal is you need broadband to play it well over the net whereas that is not so much the case with CS. Otherwise you'll be swearing that some people are cheating (which alot of them probably are).

Summary: Even great for older beginning gamers with 2000-era hardware
Review: This game is great even if you're like me, running a basic 2.5 year old PC with on-board graphics. I don't have the greatest reflexes and have never been a competent "gamer", but I like this game (the first I bought in 4 years). Just set the speed to 75% of normal and enjoy it at home.

For the price, this is quite a deal. Thank goodness games like this are available. I can't afford the $50 cutting edge games with their high hardware requirements

Summary: Excellent
Review: Brilliant game with lots of support for mappers and modders and thus a large community following. An excellent and easy multiplayer option. Not the newest game out there at the moment but still one of the best, and the graphics are still awesome.

Summary: Too Fun
Review: Unreal Tournament is an awesome first person shooter and not to miss for big fps fans. This is fps at its heart, to the core. The whole presetation is excellent from the graphics to the sound. Many maps and levels to choose from and many different scenarios too. Lots of classic weapons and body blowing upping. Online multiply is a blast. The game installs right to your hard drive so you don't need the disk to play after you've installed it. The game is only 10 to 15 dollars so why not buy it? Its a great game with great play mechanics and provides too much fun.
