Summary: Oh my God FPS's dont get much worse.
Review: (...)I bought this game without reading reviews or anything, I thought it looked cool so i got it. Pop it in...ok looks cool enough. Ok I didnt get past the first mission, so thats all i can base this on. The screen flickered and there was a lot of lag, even though I have a brand new Sony Vaio!! There is no reason for anyone to buy this game when there are so many better games out there. Dont even buy it if you've bought Rainbow 6, Delta Force, and all those other great games and you're curious. WAIT FOR ANOTHER FPS TO COME ALONG, ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!! You'll thank me for telling you this.

Summary: Finnicky installation; no support
Review: After ensuring that my system exceeds not only the "minimum," but also the "recommended" requirements, I installed it. Got a "Client Error" message. Activision's website acknowledges the problem and recommends turning off all other processes (including firewall & virus protection!). Did that. Still got the error message, so I contacted the tech support e-mail account. That was 10 days ago, but I still haven't received a reply. Phone support isn't offered during evenings or weekends, either.

Sluggish and choppy graphics may be bothersome, but software that just doesn't work is a real pain.

Summary: Good Game....But.....
Review: Alright, Secret Service is a good game, but there's definatly room for improvement. I too was looking for a SWAT type game where you have to train and learn to play, this isn't it. They throw you right into the game, which some people like, I don't. But once I started playing I began to like it. It's hard ..., which isn't great, but at least you get your money's worth as far as time spent on playing.
It seems as though my computer can handle the graphics so I can't complain there, but it is a very difficult game, but I think after the first level, it may get cool (although I have yet to spend more than 3min in the game without dying).

Summary: Less than $20, and low sys req.'s - this game has it all...
Review: Ever wanted to shoot the lights out in multiplayer and be a sneaky, low-down, camping dog in the dark? You can do that. Ever wanted to lean around the corner and put one between the turban and the unibrow? You can do that. Ever wanted to see your target get blown into a wall after you shoot him and watch him slide down the wall like a sack of wet mice? You can do that too! In fact, nearly every feature I have ever complained "wasn't" in an FPS... IS in Secret Service. For instance, how frustrating is it to shoot a guy and not see where you hit him? For me, VERY! This game will leave decals on not only the walls and objects, but on your opponent! Granted, they are black instead of bloody red, but I ain't complaining over color. The physics in this game are amazing for it's era, and the AI is brilliant. The baddies in this game can hear, see, and shoot. They dodge, duck, and run for cover. Those looking for eye candy won't find much beyond a game that is graphically comparable to Tactical Ops, but the game play is intense and will appeal to tactical fans more than fantasy freaks. I sure hope someone over at id, epic, raven, or valve is paying attention, because as I said in the title, this game definately has it all! Not one game to date can boast the features that this game offers, and if they did, they certainly wouldn't be able to pull it off within Secret Service's system requirements. It runs like a raped chicken on nearly crap hardware. Run, don't walk to Target and fork over $5 for this clearence gem in a jewel case!

Summary: ehhh....
Review: I bought this game hopeing I could see what it was like to be the guard for important people, putting my life before theirs, saving the day, and escorting the men & women that run this country and mak it what it is (from a game point of view anyway;).And the first level is quite difficult, which is why I cant seem to get past it.(It may also be because my computer just cant hanadle what it is being given!)Seems very exciting though!

Summary: DONT waste your money
Review: I bought this game thinking it would be in the league of SWAT 3. In 2 hours of playing it, I'm barely able to reach the 2nd level of the mission. To start, I'm running a pentium 4 1.6GHZ, to a 19 inch trinitron, backed up with a Nividia Geforce3 TI series graphics card, and I STILL had problems with the video lag. The game play is fast paced, sloppy, and like someone else said on this site, uninvolved. They throw you into the game like it's some sort of Doom game. However...for 10 bucks this game is WELL worth it. It's got cool weapons, decent graphics when the screen isnt flooded, and it may keep you interested for a few days. For 30 bucks, look elsewhere, I suggest SWAT 2, or SWAT 3.

**UPDATE**

For this price, you MIGHT wanna try this game. It was more expensive when I bought it (blindly without reading reviews) and I was upset when I wrote my review!! Its NOT a great game, but this is fairly [inexpensive] for a game, so if your bored and have everything else, why not

Summary: You cant judge a game by its cover.
Review: I bought this on its release date just by looking at its cover. There is no introduction to game play and they just throw you onto the game. The videos played but no sound could be heard so you just have to guess what your mission is. I returned mine beacuse of a defect (the video sound). Stick to Half-Life, The Rainbow 6 series, Swat 3, or Operation Flash Point if you want a tried and true first person shooter.

Summary: "You can't judge a game by it's cover" is Wayyyyyy off !
Review: I couldn't disagree with your comments above more strongly. I, a very long time 1st person shooter fan, found this game to be quite refreshing when compared to other similar titles. I agree that the Rainbow 6 series, OFP (patched, not the release version), and Half-Life are quality games, and I believe Secret Service is in their league.
(you mention liking OFP, I also purchased it, and until their latest patch, was very unsatisfied with it)
I don't know what kind of "introduction to gameplay" you want, but this game seemed very intuitive to me. The weapons are sweet! The missions kick a*& !
If you want a true 1st person shooter, this IS the game for you!

Summary: For Hardcore FPS Gamers only!
Review: I got this game, because my friend gave it to me for my birthday. I was excited to play it so I installed it and started it. I started the first mission. It took me for like 3 days to complete the first mission! Gladly, the game started getting easier for me. I got to complete the whole game in about a month. I think it was definetly worth it for free (I got it from my friend). The real cost is $10.00 at Target. However, I think it's worth it for $10.00 too. This game had pretty good graphics, the gameplay was pretty good, and it's very hard but gets easier every mission. You can choose up to about 26 weapons including grenades and explosives. My favorite is the Ak-47. You can also play online if you have internet or LAN connection (no one plays online). MY recommended system requirment is pentium 3 700, 256mb RAM, 16mb video card, and a sound card. I ran this game on Celeron 2.6, 1025mb RAM, 128mb GeForce Ti 4600, no sound card and had no problem. I think you should get this game if you are a hardcore shooter fan. If you are not, don't get this game. Overall, this game is pretty good game for shooter fans and it probably will be worth it for $10.00 at Target. I really had fun with game even though it was the most hardest FPS I have ever played. It was also the most challenging and difficult, but enjoyable game I have ever played. P.S. I also highly recommend Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, and No One Lives Forever.
