Summary: Trust the Force and get it!
Review: I first played X-Wing in 1994 on my ol' trust-worthy 386. The polygon-spacecrafts were not that spectacular, but the first time I saw a TIE fighter explode in front of my eyes, I knew I was hooked. When TIE FIGHTER came out, I got it, too. And I was hooked once again. These two games will forever be the epitome of what space combat sims should be. The ELS energy control system forces you to think all the time. Should I give up lasers for more shields, or should I forget about shooting or defending and make a run with speed? I don't think there is any other gaming moment as rewarding as the moment when I destroyed the Death Star. And flying as Darth Vader's wingman made me feel special for quite a few days. in the X-wing Trilogy you get both of these titles (complete version w/ mission packs) plus X-Wing Alliance, plus a demo version of X-Wing v. TIE fighter. While X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter wasn't too great, X-Wing Alliance was entertaining, especially when you get to pilot the Millennium Falcon. You get all these for a fairly low price, so what's there to complain?? X-Wing itself will keep you entertained for a long time! The improved graphics is a plus, and the easier version of certain hellish missions also made the game more enjoyable. I just wish that they had kept the pre-mission animation of your plane getting ready and the after-mission animation of your plane landing in the cruiser and R2 taken out of your 'fighter. If you played these games before, you should get this collection. If you haven't, and you like Star Wars, get it, it would make watching Star Wars so much more fun for you.

Summary: The Best of the Best of the Best....
Review: I have been playing computer games for almost 10 years now... and these games are BY FAR my favorite. They keep me coming back year after year. If you have not yet bought the updated versions of these games, this is a golden (and inexpensive) opportunity. For those of us who purchased the previous set... well, it could be a little frustrating to see this package. :) I don't have Alliance yet so I am biting the bullet. You know you probably will too! Just grin, bear it, and buy it. :)

Summary: The Best In Early Star Wars Games
Review: I won't argue that this Trilogy is by far the best in early Star Wars games

Summary: A Classic... All together for a great set of games.
Review: The only thing is the game requires a joystick, unlike the previous versions that didn't. Which is alright, no problem. I got one, you got one, if not then there are a slew of wonderful little sticks out there that will sufice.

All of these games are classics, from Xwing until the end... each is among the best there is to offer in the Star Wars gaming. Of course the Xwing and Tiefirhgter are older than Windows... But you can get around that can't you? Here's the lowdown.

Genre: All are Flight Simulation, Space Fighters... meaning that there is no simulation for atmosphereic flight (all 360x360 directions with no gravity... no real sense of up). Which can get annoying if you are just that type of person.

Controls: In exception to your Joystick... not a lot is customizable. Alliance is a more recent game can do a little. They are easy to learn and not complicated by any means, and each program has in in-flight key guide.

Gameplay... Superb. I love them all. I've owned just about every version of Tie-Fighter and find that his game is the better game... though Alliance's better graphics and general quality is newer and better, they are all still the greatest (In comparison to some of the most recent multiplatform fighter games... these are a nice breath of nostalgia.

Xwing is by far the oldest and comes with both extra campaigns, Imperial Pursuit and B-wing. Tie-fighter comes with it's extra add on and Alliance is a full package. This box set gives you everything the individuals have: updated graphics and compatibilities. It's really worth the price when compared to the individual price of each three of these games. ... .

I recommend this for anyone who played the games in their older versions. You'll be surprised to see what's changed and how well they are now. I still find myself playing around with them. And the best thing to do is to play around with their mission editors (not included) and make your own missions. Tie-fighter is especially easy to make a mission for. I wouldn't recommend these for younger gamers, since they quality of these games were at their prime in the early 90's, and anything in the computer world that is more than 5 years old is considered antique... but the are collectors.

Summary: An Incredible Bargain!
Review: Three of the finest space combat simulators packaged together? And only 30 bucks? That's an incredible bargain in my book. Add the fact that the adventures are set in the Star Wars universe and I'm left with only one question: What on earth (or a galaxy far, far, away) are you waiting for? Add this software to your collection today!!!

Summary: Awesome! I hail this game!
Review: When I bought X-Wing, I noticed the graphics weren't the best, but when my A-Wing's blasters blew a TIE into space dust, I knew I loved this game.

Summary: Seriously, it's worth it!
Review: X-wing and Tie Fighter are right up there with the Wing Commander series as being benchmarks for the space-combat genre. The expansion packs for both of those games are also just as fun and well-thought-out as the foundation games (which is a rarity in ANY computer game). I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys great action and tense, seat-of-your pants flying and fighting on the computer.
