Summary: Pleasant rainy weekend diversion
Review: Interesting little game, though it's nothing to write home about. Graphics are passable, acting pretty good, writing fine (better than the execution, unfortunately). Takes a while to get started, but once it really starts it's got some great moments. Not scary, except in a pleasantly spooky slumber-party-ghost-story sort of way.

Summary: Sudden ending surprised me!
Review: This game is excellent. The graphics are great, the story is interesting, and the supernatural occurances are pleasantly creepy, as they should be. I really enjoyed playing. Some things you encounter in the game aren't really explained, which can be frustrating. Like the mysterious bathroom that's perpetually steamy, with messages appearing the the mirror. But that's not troubling. You "help" three ghosts, by solving what happened to them. With one of the ghosts, you end up going through this weird underwater rollercoaster thing that's submerged in the lake. It takes forever to solve, and can be pretty frustrating. Once you help all the ghosts, you're able to rescue your friend Roxy, and then the game is over just like that. I was surprised when it ended so abruptly. It's as if Roxy looks up and says, "Thanks for the help" and then the credits roll. I was hoping for a bit more wrap up and explanation of what was going on in the house. But beyond that, while it lasts, the game is spooky and interesting. Definitely worth the buck.

Review: Although a little short, this game is one of the best games I have ever played.

Summary: great game, but ending was a dissapointment
Review: great game, but ending was a dissapointment. I enjoyed it quite a bit, spooky stuff, great realist graphics, but the story just drops all of a sudden, and then its all over. I think it could have been a little bit harder to complete and should have lasted a little longer, I also think the ending was not so great, I feel that the creators should have had a more exciting ending to go with all the excitment throughout the game. Overall I liked it, not a bad game to buy.

Summary: Great!
Review: very exciting game, the only thing I did not like is that stinking 40's music that keeps playing over and over again, when you have to use that radio, I mean come on now play some tunes that are diverse not the same song over and over again. other than that this game rules...very exciting and a lot of fun to play.

Summary: I rather enjoyed this game
Review: Amber is the first game I ever completely made it through. I bought it and completed it in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I used a walk thru to help or else I wouldve been totally lost. Kudos to Hugh Forest on their choice for the actress who played Roxy (Verrrry nice). Also, I found Brice's world to be the most disturbing of the three stories due to his obviously sad state of mind. The first story was great in that it was very environmental and in made you feel you were back in the 40's, especially with the radio announcer in the background. I recommend this game for everyone. It is creepy but not to the point where your kids cant watch you play. Only a couple of scenes really gave me a cause to pause and feel sad for the victims. Well done on an emotionally charged game. I look forward to another from this company.

Review: This is a great game, if you like Myst style games, this is a must buy. I liked it a lot. Very well done.

Summary: The Greatest Adventure Game Ever...
Review: This game is the best adventure game ever. Prior to this, Myst was my favorite adventure game. AMBER surpasses Myst in many ways...

Foremost, the puzzles are actually integrated into the storyline. In fact, the stories actually advance the story. In Myst, the puzzles were wonderful, but abstract and unconnected to the story.

Another area where AMBER excelled was the music and sound. The sound effects were wonderful and remarkably restrained. At one point, the subtle sounds of footsteps creaking on floorboards, were amazingly effective at making my hair stand on end. And the music -- particularly the jazzy hip guitar riffs in Brice's world -- were fantastic; likewise, the big band music in Margaret's world was perfect. I only wish I could find the soundtrack to this game.

The graphics in Myst were gorgeous, but in a fantasy sort of way. AMBER's graphics are so realistic and "normal" that I was able to completely forget I was playing a computer gamer.

And finally, the story. This is an area where AMBER *really* excels. If you're at all interested in the supernatural, you owe it to yourself to play this game. The theories presented about ghosts in this game are extremely compelling. This game offers some of the most lucid and believable theories about the paranormal that I've ever seen in a work of fiction.

Kudos to Hue Forest for this modern classic. I can't wait to try out their future efforts.

Summary: Amber Journeys Beyond
Review: Wow. There's lots more to this than meets the eye. It takes you through different time periods, each one giving you new territories to explore. I enjoyed it and the price is right. Used a walkthrough, but also found a lot on my own to.
