Summary: Takes Time to Learn but You'll Soon Love It
Review: Being a Star Wars fan, I'm willing to invest more time exploring a franchise game, but even a skeptic would have been surprised to read the negative professional reviews that came out when FC was released. While the controls take some getting used to (I suggest using the keyboard to move the camera and not the mouse), Force Commander is as strong as any action-oriented strategy game I've played.

As with most LucasArts titles, Force Commander's story elevates the interest in an already strong game. The voice acting contributes a great deal of cinematic authenticity and some nice bits of humor (In an early level, ignoring a Computer Center's automated access denied signal gets you the HAL-like admonishment, "No, I mean it"). Also, the game looks and plays great. No crashes, nice textures, and it's very responsive.

Overall, Force Commander will deeply satisfy mid-maintenance, Majesty-style strategists. Fans of Age of Kings and other more involved management titles may not enjoy the simplicity of the Command Point system--I was a bit surprised to see how easy it is to order new troops--but the focus of the game is really more about achieving objectives and coordinating tactics than building and managing an Empire. I think fans of Myth, and to a certain extent, SWAT-type gamers will really get into FC's action-heavy scenarios. It may have taken the Star Wars theme to rekindle my interest in Real Time Strategy games but Force Commander has surpassed all my expectations. This game will take some time before you feel adept at it, but you won't regret a dollar you've spent.

Summary: Becareful of this game!
Review: I was very disappointed when I stuck the game in my AMD K7-600 machine and found out that it even slowed my computer down. I do have to admit the graphics are outstanding, but graphics don't help much if you can't play the game. I did check Lucas Arts site and they said that to run it you had to have 85% of your resources free. Not an easy thing to do considering all the stuff I have on my computer. I am hoping that adding another 128 MB chip into my computer will correct the problem. If it does I will resubmit my review. It is a great looking game. I am just hoping it isn't my Creative Labs TNT2 Ultra 32MB video card.

Summary: Awesome
Review: I have been eagerly awaiting this game for more than a yearnow, and now that it's finally out, I'm not dissapointed. Awesome story, video, graphics, sound, and smooth gameplay combine to make this an amazing game. The levels are a reasonable difficulty level, and it intertwines with the written star wars stories without blatantly contradicting or ignoring them. Although it doesn't run great on my system because I have only 32 megs of RAM, it is still reasonable, and on my friend's new computer it's amazing. All RTS or Star Wars gamers must have this game.

Summary: The Best Out There!
Review: I have never seen a game like this! It uses the latest 3D graphics there is and Combining a starwars game to a strategy game is GENUIS. You get over 40 vehicles to control Which include AT-AT, AT-PT, Dewbacks, Turrents, and never before seen rebel tanks! The Best part is you also get to play it over the Internet! This is one of the greatest games ever made before, and I recommand it to any starwars or strategy gamer out there!

Summary: Very Good, but not the best
Review: I found this game very good. It's graphics are spectacular, and its AI is very intelligent as well. However, if you wish for a game and are on a rather tight budget, don't use up money on this game. Wait for a while until the price goes down.

Summary: ALL Bark, ZERO bite.
Review: This game is the typical "grab headlines and not deliver" that I'm coming to expect from Lucasarts. This is an RTS 2 years behind in Technology. I've never understood how the Empire couldn't have a battlefield mapped, yet the "ZERO FIELD OF VISION" persists in this game. The controls are twitchy, and the graphics are can't even compete with lower class RTS games like Metal Fatigue. I bought the game b/c I'm a fan, but I'd rather spend my time reading the novels than play this poorly done amateurish shrink wrapped goop.

Summary: Played it... Love it!
Review: After playing this game for a few hours I think it is safe for me to say this game is awesome, I am truly impressed. The free floating camera range of movement and the ability to zoom or adjust to any spot is impressive. The rendered graphics, are no slouch either. Even the battlefields are done with meticulous detail. From the snowy mountains of Hoth to sand blowing across the Tatooine desert, it's all here!

All this would be pointless without great gameplay. Lucky for us LucasArts has covered all the bases there too. It plays similar to Age of Empires II or Starcraft, but with more available interaction. You can claim an enemy base as your own by raiding it, you can send a stormtrooper to hop aboard a dewback and wreak havoc, you can even take over Imperial walkers with rebel infiltrators and turn them against the Empire. The command point system isn't that bad either, basically it amounts to the more you please your superiors, the more inclined they will be to send reinforcements you request. It also helps keep the game more realistic.

To top all this off, the campaigns take you through missions and events from the original trilogy and even some in-betweeners. You'll also recognize familiar faces like R2, Chewie, Han, and Lord Vader himself as you progress. Bottom line, kudos to the folks at LucasArts for giving Star Wars fans and strategy fans alike a game worthy of applause!

Summary: Best Yet not a good Bet
Review: I like many others waited patiently for SWFC, only to find a so-so game as the result. Lucasarts has a flare for trying to make a game as hard to play as possible. The game interface is complicated and the learning curve is high, but once mastererd the overall game is enjoyable.

Summary: The BEST Realtime Srategy Game to Date

Summary: SW Geeks rejoice!
Review: From the moment I purchased this games at my local comic book/video game store, I was in love. Just looking at the pictures on the box gave me joy, but when I actually played the game it was perfect. It contains great graphics, gameplay and all of your favorite SW characters. SW fans will enjoy the landscapes from the SW universe and the ability to control Darth Vader. RTS fans will love the control and chalange the game presents. I thought that I would be a biased reviewer considering that I spend a good portion of my time clean my COMPLETE SW action figure collection, but I think even if I hated SW wold love this game.
