Summary: The finest real-time strategy game I have ever played.
Review: Many computer games have tried to use the limitless possibilities of space as a backdrop, but Homeworld is the first to get it right, stretching the aesthetic limits of the real-time strategy in new directions.

Imagine this moment: your fighters fly in tight formation toward an opponent's huge capital ship. You centre and zoom in on your lead fighter, and the sounds of the ship's engine fills the room. As they near their target, your ships break formation, and you tumble and roll with them as they attack. Particle beams pierce the darkness around you, missiles fly past, explosions surround you. There is nothing like this in gaming.

The single player version is excellent. Although the plot draws heavily on classic space operas, such as Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars, the challenges you will face are unique, interesting, and sometimes comical.

A word of caution: to get the most out of this game, I recommend a high-end video card, with resolution jammed to the max. Turn on all the effects; it's more than worth it.

As well, experienced RTS gamers will not be able to jump immediately into the game and succeed. Start with the excellent tutorial and master the 3D play environment. Learning game mechanics at this point is critical.

Summary: Fantastic game!
Review: For those of you who are real time game enthusiasts, Homeworld is sure to increase your heartbeat by at least 50%. Unlike most other real time games (ala Command and Conquer Series, Myth Series, and Warcraft/Starcraft Series), Homeworld uses a true 3D Engine. You can fight in almost any angle imaginable, the whole 360 degrees.

The ships available are extraudinary, the graphics, well, the screenshots speak for themselves. The storyline is also very engrossing, updating you about your position during the missions itself.

Do NOT let the fact that this game has two different races fool you. You might think, oh, that's twice the gaming time. But you're wrong there. The storyline is exactly the same for both the races, and there is only the difference of two units between the two. Despite that, all the units of both the races look different from each other.

You truly feel you're in space combat, at least science fiction space combat. The physics are no way realistic, but I'd rather have a fun game, which makes its own laws of physics, than have a VERY realistic game, and have no gameplay.

Summary: Very good but slightly buggy
Review: Homeworld is a very good game and it is fun to devise strategy's to defeat your enemies and then watch the battles play out in real time. However, I did encounter a couple of problems. First of all , I couldn't get the game to work with my Voodoo 2 card, so I had to run it in software, which fortunately still looks very good. Also, I haven't been able to get the multiplayer to work yet, but that might be because of my slow connection. Anyway, most people don't seem to have these problems, so if you want a gripping strategy game with great graphics, Homeworld is the current number one choice.

Summary: Amazing Game
Review: This is an incredible game which I recommened everyone to buy, the only drawback is the amount of time the game is going to cut into your personal life.

Summary: Hail To The King!
Review: The greatest computer game I have EVER played has been changed to Homeworld. I do not know how they pulled this off, but the first successful venue of taking real-time strategy (RTS) to 3D is an astounding success. Perfect interface, lush graphics, and killer multiplayer. Complaints, the single player game is kinda short, but there are expansion packs on the way!

Summary: Great game with choppy user control
Review: I agree with other reviewers on the game's amazing graphics, great plot and revolutionary 3D RTS mechanism. Its very much like combining Wing Commander series and the Warcraft series together. For that, 5 stars are underrated.
However, I found that the responsivity of the user control are not up to par. Imagine, during the heat of the battle, you wanted to use your group of fighters to attack the enemy's squadron. You press Ctrl-Left Mouse to attack the enemy group, and before you know it, instead of attacking, you ended up selecting the enemy group and lose your chance to attack.

Summary: Intense!
Review: The graphics in this game are absolutely incredible. When I first got this game, I thought the screenshots on the box were shots of the game intro, then when I played the game and saw similiar screenshots during the entire course of play, my jaw dropped! Absolutely incredible. How about the gameplay? Very good. When multiple events are happening, the game can be a little overwhelming at times, due in large part to the 3-D environment, but I was never overly frustrated and I'm getting more used to it the more I play, and am having big fun with this game! The music is beautiful as well. Very unique real-time strategy game, if you're into this genre you'll be very happy!

Summary: Incomparable: Flawless
Review: This game certifiably kicks ass. I am completely in awe of the beauty of the storyline, graphics, and espcially the music. Whoever thought of mixing Islamic music with sci-fi is brilliant; the solem and almost sad beauty of this game cannot be overemphasized. It's just beautiful; that's the best word to describe it. This game draws you in; the adrenaline rush I got from meeting an alien race in the depth of uncharted space was incredible.

Summary: New ideas in RTS with a great plot...
Review: I'm not an RTS (real time strategy) fanatic by any stretch of the imagination -- but I was eager for this game. This game plays extremely well as a single player game -- complete with new twists to the real-time genre: no buildings, you keep your fleet with you from scenario to scenario, full 3D space (with intuitive controls).

Homeworld takes the basic tenants of a real time strategy and slows the pace down a bit to provide fleet action that reminds you of scenes from your favorite sci-fi movies and TV shows.

The story is extremely well done with scripted in-game sequences and good storyboard artwork that makes the story compelling and interesting rather than "fluff" added at the end.

It's a solid multiplayer game - but only against other humans. Much like Total Annhilation, the AI simply isn't up to the task of taking on multiple, allied humans, even if you give it the benefit of numbers.

Overall - it's a great game. If the multiplayer AI were more vicious you'd see 5 stars from me.

Summary: WOW
Review: This game has been the best thing I have ever had the honor to play. The Story, gameplay, scripting are so fluidly executed the experiance is just amazing. I haven't experianced any of the AI problems that some customers have. Most of the time it is commander error. Your units will only respond to a battle if fired upon or on Aggresive tactics, on Evasive they will run off and avoid conflict. I played this game the cutscenes are melted in to the gameplay and is amazingly pulled off. This game I HIGHLY recomend for any gamer RTS fan or not.
