Summary: Very fun game
Review: Alright, first thing, it's not a rip-off...I've been playing this game for 50 days now, and I still like it. Yes, it is like a chatroom, but that's not all it is. You get to go visit places, meet new people, and there are many routes you can take in this game. You can become a millionaire or a slacker, a grand pianist or a master chef, the owner of your own house or become a roomie. The sales are showing that people obviously still love the Sims...I think you should at least give this game a chance. If you don't like it, that's you. And if you like it, be glad you listened to my review and not the person who thinks this is a rip-off :-)

Summary: I take it you Flamers are kids or @n@l renetive adults
Review: Aperntly you 2 flamers Never heard of vzones or newherzons or Dreamscape or second kingdom or seducity all these i have mentioned where programs that added a simple game to a chat room where you had a 2d person and you costomize them get an apartment (turf) for them there was comunitys in there where everyone knew each other took chat rooms to a WHOLE new lvl and people would pay up to 30 bucks a month not tomention paying extra for acceries items head for their avies it was and still is VERY addictive now sims online is just takeing this idea to whole new lvl with WAYYYYYY better grafix larger fan base better items and things to play with better costomizable liveing quaters (what would you take a 4 room 2 dimenionaly turf or a ful 3d home with back yard and everyting) sims online has been the most antisipated online community release for the past year .... so dont go flameing something when you dont even know what its all about.

Summary: Save your money. TSO is a chatroom masquerading as a game.
Review: As someone who has playtested this, I can safely say that
this game in the state that its currently in, will not be complete for potential players to invest in this by its rlease date. It can barely handle 16 players at any particular site.
The game content is boring and and the objectives pretty shallow.
Why invest in a timecard for a game that is really a big chatroom when there are online places to chat for free?

Summary: Ok I have played paid and love the game....
Review: At first I thought it was nasty of maxis to charge, but then I found out how much they are spending on us just to play.. The game cost them to make well over a million dollars frist off then on top of all that they pay for the server, it cost another million dollars, a year, they aren't even making enough back for a profit off this game even with the charge of 10.00 a month per person... So before you complain about how much you think they are unfair or how much you think they are ripping you off, begin in their shoes and wonder ... I think chraging 10.00 dollars is pretty cheep considering they are spendin so much per month on the server they provide for you to play on and that 10.00 per person doesn't even pay them back for it, nor give them profit... I love the sims, and am a sim freak, many are, We love the game, Buy it for yourself don't take other peoples words for it... their likes and dislikes are differant from yours. you have to experiance it your self... I didn't want to buy the game, at all and would mostly likely agree with people that are complaining until I started playing on my friends computer, and then got hooked, Loved it, had to go buy it... if nothing else spend sometime with someone you know who has it, ask to play once in awhile then you will know,, But please don't knock it tell you try it... There is so much more to do in this game.,... Then chat, don't let them stir you away... It is alot of fun..

Summary: One Big Fat Chat Room
Review: download IRC and save yourself some money. I was irritated that I had to call and cancel my subscription instead of being able to do it online.
I Love the Sims, and own all the expansion packs and all the console games, but this game falls short.

Summary: diamonds in the rough....
Review: Everything said about this game is true...it's a giant chatroom, an addictive game, and a total ripoff, but I've met some really cool people by playing this game, which makes it worthwhile. Whenever they're online, we have a lot of fun playing...most of the time we're laughing our heads off at people who take this game so seriously and can't distinguish game-life from real-life (it's just a GAME people!).

But seriously, one of my friends can't get out much to socialize with other people in real-life because she's recovering from chemo, so she plays the game to have a bit of fun and meet other people online to do everyday things that she normally can't do regularly, so it's cool in that respect. However, I'm giving it 3 stars because unless your friends are online at the same time you are, it's one heckuva boring game and it's fee is pricey, but hey, the fun I have on here is worth the 33 cents/day. :p

Summary: all part of the Sims Online Cult marketing strategy
Review: here's the business plan for sims online in a nutshell: entice new members with false promises. get them to invest substantial amounts of time and money in the game. by the time someone realizes how stupid the game is, the investments put into the game dissuade one from quitting.

this card represents a three month commitment to the game. i got bored with sims online after about 7 days, gave it two months to grow on me before i cancelled (which, btw, is not an easy process thanks to the Customer Retention Service specialists working the overloaded EA phone lines). DO NOT commit to three months of this cult at once.

Summary: A total and complete Rip Off
Review: I buy games not only escapism but for the challenge.

This shouldn't even be marketed as a game, if they have no
intentions of completing it. This is nothing but a chatroom with some inside gameplay thrown in so that it can be called a game.

This game is boring, what little gameplay it has is shallow
and the majority of players are rude and obnoxious.
I thought when people get older they grow beyond having cliquish-highschoolish behavior and engaging in bathroom humor. Apparently I was wrong because there are a great deal of adults apparently living the life they never had in highschool, online.

This game lacks everything that made The Sims fun and needless to say I truly regret not listening to those who warned me not to buy it.

Summary: Horrendously Pointless and Boring
Review: I just unsubscribed from this monstrosity of a game so I can honestly say that in its current unfinished state, it is not worth the monthly fee. The game play is extremely boring to the point where you either fall asleep in your chair or leave to complete other tasks while your Sim works on a skill.
The object of the game is to strive to get on the Top lists and become either the most popular or wealthiest.
The strict limits and lack of game content doesn't make those objectives easy to accomplish and diminishes what little fun the game has. All I did when I played was try to build my sims skills up, chat, and watch some players engage in extremely weird and often crude behavior toward other players.
Everything that made the original Sims fun and exciting is non existent here. Perhaps if this game had not been rushed, it would have been more fun to play and there would be more to do than just skilling centers, dance clubs, etc because currently you're better off with the offline version as there is more to do and especially since they're taking way too long adding new content in this game.

Summary: Love it
Review: I love this game. It's only a ten dollar monthly fee, the same monthly fee you pay for EQ (plus the 50 bucks I paid for that game, as well as the 20 dollar expansion packs for EQ). The same would go for other games similar to these, where the players don't have the option of running the game on their own servers.

I really enjoy the social aspects of this game; I get to meet different people from all over the world. It's really incredible. As for it being a glorified chat room, well if that's how you play it, then it is. It may not seem like real heavy roleplay, but it's not like EQ, where you're a mage going out to fight trolls. The Sims Online is based on the real world, so people tend to talk about real world subjects.

There are no down towns and vacation spots, because YOU or your neighbors create them.

However, it's still in its building stages, so there are a lot more roleplaying aspects not yet available-such as sickness, death, shops and costumized items. They are STILL working out the bugs and tweaking items for game balance.

The game, to me, was and is worth every penny. However, it loses a point in that it was sold to the public before some of the basic functions were even implemented. It will probably take another year before the game is settled and maybe more game-worthy for heavy roleplayers.

Just my 2 simoleans!
