Summary: A must have!
Review: No RollerCoaster Tycoon player should be without the Loopy Landscapes/Corkscrew Follies expansion packs, both which are included on this CD ROM. It adds tons of new features to the already awesome original game, providing hours of fun and excitement. Some of my favorite new features are as follows:

MORE SCENARIOS - Over 60 challenging scenarios in all, enough to keep you occupied for months! Includes the new "Arid Heights" scenario which gives you a large peice of land and unlimited funds to build the park of your dreams without any financial constraints! (The only problem is that you have to wait for most of the rides and attractions to become available, and you can't pick and choose which type of rides or attractions will become available next.)
THREE "REAL PARK" SCENARIOS - based on real amusement parks in the UK and Germany
MORE ROLLER COASTER TYPES - including the Heartline Twister, Steel Wild Mouse, and Air Powered Vertical coasters
MORE THRILL RIDES, WATER RIDES, AND GENTLE RIDES - letting you give your guests more variety in rides
MORE FOOD STALLS AND SOUVENIR STANDS - now you can give your guests hot dogs, fried chicken, candy apples, lemonade, hats, T-shirts, and more!
NEW THEMES, RIDE ENTRANCES, AND ENTERTAINERS - now you can make your park a real "theme" park with jungle, space, dinosaur, and oriental themes, just to name a few
MORE LANDSCAPING OPTIONS AND FOOTPATH TYPES - to further enhance the look and feel of your park
NEW "UNIFORM PRICING" FEATURE - allows you to adjust the price of a certain item in your park uniformly throughout your park, rather than having to click on each stall individually to adjust the price at each one....makes life a lot easier!
COLOR-CHANGING FOR BALLOONS, UMBRELLAS, HATS, AND T-SHIRTS - now you can set different colors for the items that you sell at your stalls, resulting in a colorful mosaic of balloons, umbrellas, hats, and shirts...a really cool thing to see!
BANNER SIGNS - including special "no entry" signs which prohibit your guests from entering a certain area of your park (very useful when you're expanding and don't want your guests to enter the new area of your park while it's still under construction)
"REAL NAME" FEATURE - gives your guests names like "Bill W." and "Nancy P." instead of the more impersonal "Guest 1084"
AND MUCH MORE!!!

Simply put, RollerCoaster Tycoon simply isn't complete without this expansion 2-pack. A must have for rollercoaster tycoons everywhere!

Summary: GET THIS EXPANSION PACK!
Review: I own all 3 of the RCT games and the are all great. Being an avid coaster fan these games were a must! When I bought Loopy Landscapes and started playing it, i was amazed. There are so many options and cool features. For example there are at least 5 new coasters including my favorite 1, the flying coaster (I.E Stealth, X-Flight) . There are many new shops like Chicken Hut, Coffee Shop, etc. TONs of new levels, like Arid Hights, the coolest level ever. There is no money so it lets you go free and buy whatever u want! You can completly transform the park without having to worry about money (some of the coasters are really expensive). Also, there is a section entitled "Real Parks" which features 3 real parks: Alton Towers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and Heide Park. The Alton Towers version is awsome!! There are at least 70 rides there!! It's a spectatular version of the park. Corkscrew Follies is also a great Expansion, but if you are looking for real fun this is the one to buy. If you look at the features in this game and then look at the price, its amazing how low it is! I once spent hours just playing this game. *Warning* One feature that is not good (this is true with all the RCT games) the coasters can blow up (the brakes tend to fail). That is the only downside of this game (once it explodes you have to start completly over which is a bummer, especially if you made the ride yourself). Some of the many coasters added on include: Flying Coaster, Water Coaster, Air Launched Vertical Coaster (AWSOME), Inverted Wild Mouse Steel Coaster (would be great to ride in real life) and many others. Some of the new thrill rides include: Enterprise (a spinning ride), Jet Ski's, etc. There are a few new water rides also. So , if youre stuck on amazon and dont know what to buy, believe me get this game!! *ALSO* You must have the first Roller Coaster Tycoon to be able to play Loopy Landscapes. Great game, low price, cool features, realistic gameplay, whats not to love?

Summary: A Worthy Addition to the RCT Trilogy
Review: This game, while a little bit overpriced, is worth it. You don't get very many new rides, which is a disappointment, but you do get the Air Powered Vertical Coaster which can get launched out of the station at 112 mph. There are a couple new shops and stalls, and lots of cool new scenery types, including space, oriental, castle, and snow. There are new types of music also. The new scenarios are a big step away from those in RCT and CF. They don't all have xxx guests and 600 park rating goals. They have interesting objectives, such as completing the five unfinished coasters with excitement over 6.7 or building 10 different types of coasters with excitement over 6. The one real annoyance is that you can't charge for entry to your park, which makes the game much harder. The scenarios are great though, and three "real" parks are included. They are sort of like scenarios, but they are listed separately and they are made to look just like three real parks in Europe! Blackpool Pleasure Beach is great, and so is Alton Towers. Heide Park is okay. Overall, this game is a must-buy for any RCT fan, but it is overpriced if you already have corkscrew follies.

Summary: Great expansion is worth the wait! Get it!
Review: Loopy Landscapes is the second expansion pack for the original Roller Coaster Tycoon.

For the price, you get quite a few extra goodies. Loopy Landscapes includes 30 new scenarios, 3 'real' pre-built-parks, new themes, new coaster designs, new shops/stalls, music and coloring options, plus a few new rides. It should be said upfront that this expansion also includes RCT's 1st expansion: Corkscrew Follies, so you don't need to purchase it as a separate item.

The scenarios, like the original and first expansion get progressively harder, and when you load it for the first time, only 5 of the scenarios are unlocked. You must complete a scenario here in order to unlock others. However, I think this is where Loopy Landscapes shines in game play: The new scenarios are much more dynamic, creative, and challenging than previous ones. Here, instead of the normal 'Have 1,200 guests by the end of year 3', or 'Have a Park Value of $XX,XXX' by the end of year 3', you'll find you have to create certain excitement levels on half built coasters, or create X coasters of Y type. My favorite so far is 'Arid Heights' where you are free from any financial burdens....just a big sandbox mode in which to create a park that will attract 2000 guests. I like it because you are not restricted to time or money and can make a beautiful park.

Also Loopy Landscapes groups the scenarios by tabs. There is one tab each for the original game, Corkscrew Follies, Loopy Landscapes, Extra's, and Real Parks. Very cool to be able to switch between these. Also the 'Real Parks' are just plain beautiful to look at and watch. Sure you can change them, but I like to study them for tips and hints on what you can bring into one of the other scenarios you are working on.

There are a few new coasters and a few new rides including 'Jet Skis' and 'Enterprise', but there are many new shops/stalls to choose from. The new coloring options have been expanded; you have more control over how a ride is now painted. There are many new tiles for roofing and ground cover, including snow, swamp, Martian, wood, etc. Also, there are new supports for different walkways and queue lines. The music scores for rides have been expanded as well; you must check out the 'Oriental Style'....very beautiful. For a new expansion, I would have liked to see a few more new thrill rides.

Lastly is the new themes themselves. There is now Arctic, Medieval, Spooky, Space, and more. This adds so much creativity, but the biggest let down is that some of the older themes could have been expanded, but were not. Like Old West should have had maybe a saloon, more cacti, horse tie-ups, mine cars, etc. Or Jurassic could have had more dinosaur's, Egyptian and Greek could have been expanded too. There are some themes that are begging to be created, like Pirates, or Super Hero's, or Mexican. However, the Oriental theme was done very nice.

Overall, a worthy addition to RCT.

Summary: YAY!
Review: New rides, new food, new...everything. This is an excellent bargain add-on to the orriginal Rollercoaster Tycoon. This comes with even more parks, even more rides, and it brings even more hours of fun. If you loved the first Rollercoaster Tycoon, you'll love this. Here's why.

First, there's new stuff!!! You can do cool things like make banners, which prevents guests from entering some areas. But the high points are the new, awesome rides, parks, and food stalls. THis comes with cool new rollercoasters to build, tons of new parks, and other stuff. For example, this expansion pack has DOUBLE the amount of parks the first game had. You can experience new, challenging scenarios to beat in new areas and such.

Second, there's so much more gameplay! The first game came with endless hours of gameplay, and now...MORE endless hours! Yippie! Now you get to design even more theme parks, with new stuff! You know you want to buy it.

Third, the price is incredibly low right now. This is a great bargain, so my reccomendation is to buy it.

Summary: Dissapointing!
Review: I have owned the original Rollercoaster Tycoon since May '99 and have literally played the games for hundreds of hours. Corkscrew Follies was a great add on with new scenarios and tons of new rides. Loopy Landscapes is nothing like Corkscrew Follies. First of all, (I can't believe that this hasn't been brought up yet) you cannot charge admission to your parks in any of the new scenarios! That means you have to generate all of your income from rides and shops. It can be tedious and boring when you are half way done building your new Air Powered Vertical Coaster and you run out of funds and half to wait 3 months (in game time) to make enough money to complete the coaster. On a positive side, the new rides added are good. Enterprise is a crazy thrill ride that will make your guests throw up like crazy. And the Water Coaster is an awesome mix between a log flume and a steel coaster. The new park themes are nice as well. I like how one part of the park can be a space theme with astronauts walking around the craters and on the other side of the park is a winter wonderland with snowmen and icy ground. If you own Corkscrew Follies, you can send your Corkscrew Follies CD-Rom with the UPC from the Loopy Landscapes box to Hasbro and get ... to bring down the rather steep price to ... . If you love Rollercoaster Tycoon, Loopy Landscapes is a worthy purchase but if you don't play Rollercoaster Tycoon much, this expansion pack is not really necessary.

Summary: Good but Not Excellent!
Review: If you had the 1st RCT you'd love it but eventually the novelty wears off. Well if you pick up this expansion which has 2 add-on packs you'd be thrilled. However if you already have "Corkscrew Follies" you'd notice that their aren't that many new things added on. Still the game is worth it for diehard RCT Fans.

Some new things in terms of scenary. LL really has a lot of new themeing types, which is always fun. The CF features that carry over are new entertainers, music choices, painting colors and section painting. If you are really into the whole themeing thing then this is truly the expansion pack for you.

Rides: CF gives you a lot of new gentle rides, and a few thrill rides. Around 10-12 new rollercoasters really add to the gameplay as they are all different, and fun. One new thing you'll see alot of with LL is water rides. Jet skis, water coasters, raft rides etc. are all brand new which is a good change. In terms of ride improvements you get a lot of new rollercoaster cart types which is cool.

SHOPS: There are tooooons of new shops so if you wanna make more money this is an easy way. There is everything from tee-shirt and hat stalls to fried chicken and coffee shops.

BAD THINGS: Some major bummers: you can no longer charge admission to your park, which is wear [i think] a lot of the money comes from. Also you can't research ride improvements which I guess is OK cuz you get the stuff you'd be researching then.

SCENARIOS: The corkscrew follies scenarios are REALLLLY Hard. At least I think so. They have big goals and are all similar in that you have to have x number of people in your park by a certain time. The Loopy Landscape scenarios are fun because they are different. There is a huge empty park right in the beginning with unlimited money! Some new ways to win include "Finish building these 5 rollercoasters to have an excitement value of 6.7" or "earn $8000 a month with ride ticket sales." These new ways to play are really great!

So even if you already have CF this is a great expansion cuz you can get a rebate

Summary: Fun, Addictive... a few flaws.
Review: This review is for the whole RCT set, including the original game.
My family loves this game, it is truly deserving of its "E" rating, since my school-age daughter, and both adults in the family have a ball with it. Scenarios range from easy through impossible (and the expansion pack scenarios are not necessarily harder than those in the original set.) While only the first person to win a scenario gets his name 'on the board', scenarios can be played, and won or lost, over and over again.
However, the game does have a few flaws.
1. Sometimes, no matter how many times you turn the screen, you can't get a good angle to see what you are building. (Especially a problem as the park gets more crowded with rides and pathways.)
2. We joke in our family that the people in this world are wimps. The game allows you to build elaborate coasters with steep drops, tight turns, loops, twists and more. But, in our experience, any coaster much more complex than a simple circle with a few gentle drops gets rated 'ultra-extreme' with a 'ultra'high' nausea rating -- and nobody will ride it.
3. As a related issue, you can't stop the clock while designing and testing coasters. If you are building a complex coaster, months can tick by as you design your coaster, try to make the coaster fit the landscape (or alter the landscape to fit the coaster), test it, then make any necessary changes. In real life, of course, the planning would happen in the designer's office, and the actual construction would happen fairly quickly.

Still a favorite game in our house.
