Summary: Nice but not an Atlas
Review: Never be lost in EverQuest again, that's what they say but if you use this Atlas as a guide you'll never figure out where you are. This book is very nice and it's filled with losts of pretty pictures with good useful imformation about each zone but it's not a guide to keep beside your computer while you play. While the maps are pretty, they are small with little detail. But the major problem with this book is that the zones are listed alpabeticaly for the whole world, I mean you don't put Alaska next to Afganastan! This is a nice book to read through in your spare time but if you need maps to use while you play go to one of the EQ web sites and print what you need.

Summary: not worth the money
Review: While the EQ Atlas is rich in the lore and stories of Norrath, it falls well short of its intended purpose. The maps are not easy to read or follow, and the beastiary has errors. One example is in the listing for Everfrost Peaks, the atlas says monsters there are lvl 1-15. Icy Orcs and Ice Giants are found in Everfrost Peaks and are considerably higher than lvl 15. I wonder how many other zones are listed with incorrect monster levels? The bottom line is that there are zone maps available on-line that are much better than the ones you will find here.

Summary: Ok but not what I expected
Review: Well bought this cause I thought maybe it would have some good maps at least as good as the ones online if not better. Well if your looking for some really detailed maps telling were important stuff is then you will be disapointed. Although it does contain some really nice looking maps the only thing the maps tell you is were the zone lines are and thats pretty much what most people that have played in the zone for a few would know. The history part about the zones is really good and if you like to read like me then you should get it for just that reason. But if you expect to have maps that will help you find stuff in a zone then you will be disapointed.

Summary: EverQuest Atlas, Don't Bother
Review: If you are an avid EQ collector then buy the book. However, if you play the game, this book is worthless to you. There are no grid lines and North is not at the top. SOE could have done so much with this, but as usual they didn't even go half way.

If you just have to spend the money, donate it to the premier map site. At least there it will do some good.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Should be titled "Everquest Story Line with Illustrations" instead of "Everquest Atlas". If you haven't explored some of the high end zones then this will be marginally helpful. No maps for the planes except for PoK. I feel somewhat cheated as it seemed like this was going to be included based on product description.

Summary: Abysmal!
Review: The maps are next to worthless. No key locations are marked, some entries/exits are only marked in the most general way, and the 3-D areas are hard to follow.

Summary: Worth the money - but barely.
Review: Let's put it this way: the book is worth the money for sheer volume of maps, it's great for its spiral bound back (so you can fold it up and have the map in front of you), but it [is useless] for information.

Don't believe the blurb on the box that says "you'll discover excitement even in places they knew well". And the box just plain lies about descriptions of quests; I've only skimmed it but (for instance) the Shadowhaven quest isn't there. And I haven't seen *any* information about *any* quests.

Example of bad or missing information: Eastern Plains of Karana, the group of shops is a fairly important location, the one near the gorge is fairly important, and if I remember correctly there's barbarians to the east. None are on the map. No mention is made of the giants or ogres, only that there are griffons and "peculiar creatures". In Queynos Hills, it talks about Holly Windstalker, whom I haven't seen in ages. Makes no mention of the brother and sister who will make wolf skins and bear skins into clothing.

(To be fair, in East Karana, the village to the right and the one near the Gorge is mentioned in the text description, but the *good* maps such as those on EQ Atlas has them pinpointed on *their* maps.)

If you've already printed out every map you can find from EQ Atlas, this isn't the book for you. If you've only got a few maps in your scrapbook, or if you don't *have* a scrapbook, or if you're fairly new and need an overview of a few zones, this book is worth the [money] - but not a heck of a lot more.

The CD-ROM that came with mine is pretty much worthless; if it had actually come with the text of the book it would have been a heckuvalot better. The wallpaper? Heck you can create better yourself while playing the game...

I'd actually give it two and a half stars - two stars being overpriced but you can probably make something of it, three stars being "decent value for the money, not perfect but it'll do".

Shameless plugs for Planes of Power and Everquest Adventures.

Summary: Lacking a few important items
Review: The Atlas offers some background and nice maps. It is however outdated. List level of mobs in Innothule Swamp as 1-26. The Black Ravagers were added in May of this year and are level 55.

No Planes of Power Maps. If this was the case, why not release it ahead of Planes of Power. Not even the mapes of the Plane of Tran. or Plane of Knowledge.

No Port locations to the Planes are listed, or even the port stones to Jaggged Pine from Surefall Glade or Black.

Summary: ALL THE BAD THINGS YOU'VE HEARD ARE TRUE !!!
Review: Every bad thing you have ever heard about Everquest is absolutly true. Save your time and money for more interesting and fun things to do in life. Everquest is boring as hell. If you like killing the same monsters over, and over, and over, and over, buy this game immediatly. Other wise find another game. I see high lvl players camping in front of monsters waiting for them appear so they can kill them again, and again. How lame. Makes you realize that no matter how high of a lvl you reach you will be doing the same things you were doing at lvl 1 . Killing the same boring monsters over and over and over etc .........
