Summary: As Close As It Gets
Review: This game is a straight forward, "First Person Shooter." I've played other FPS's to be sure, but have yet to experince the realism and "ease of play" of Delta Force 3. I mean, "true realism." This game is by far the best of the DF series. There are no fancy nonsense, gadgets or weapons, here. Unlike DF1&2, besides your main weapon of choice you also have your secondary weapon of choice plus your side arm. ALSO -- and this is GREAT! -- If you need a quick frag change during game play the game allows you the option to exchange weapons with most dropped weapons on the battlefield -- including having a wack at a fixed weapon such as a belt fed Browning .50 or Mk19 grenade launcher. Good stuff. Game graphics are outstanding when compared to the two earlier versions of DF. I see no difference when comparing the graphics to Half-Life, Soldier of Fortune, or any other FPS. (Probably the same engine ) This game sings along easily on a 650 Athlon and Voodoo 3 video card. The game is also very detailed and advanced toward ballistics. Which brings out the beauty of DF3: What you see is what you get. The weapons are just as realistic as any FPS out there. Even the "sound," ballistic and firing rate of the weapons are authentic. Could they be better? Sure. But there isn't another game out there that is as authentic when real world weapons are concerned. If you're a GI or a firearms enthusiast this is as good as it gets . . . at the moment. Another OUTSTANDING feature of this game is this: The game is easy to load, and easy to manipulate. The learning curve on this bad boy is short so you can hop right into the action with realitive ease. It is MUCH easier to master than other FPS's I've played. The cons of DF3 are definitely outweighted by the pros. One problem I've run across is the inaccuracy of the Browning .50 cal -- a very accurate weapon. Trivial stuff but those of us who love "Ma Deuce" have found this disappointing. This concern would not be "big deal" if it wasn't for the fact other weapons in the inventory are so detailed when accuracy is concerned. And, I must admit, the azimuth/travers for both the tripod mounted Browning .50 cal and Mk19 are restricted to about twenty degrees. Why? I wouldn't know. But it is a disappointment. One other problem I have experinced is "logging on, getting up and going" with On Line play. No r-e-a-l "problems" other than you just can't jump into it without setting things up. It takes a little time; more than normal, I'd say. However, small stuff that I have yet to master. And again, admittedly trivial when compared to the game as a whole. In short: [This is a key phrase, here] For anyone who is interested in real world, US Army Special Force's game play in a FPS, or anyone interested in straight forward, no nonsense missions with real world weapons -- this game is a must. Have you ever been playing a game and you say to yourself, "Gimme a break!" or "What a joke?" The only surprises you will experience in this game are pleasant ones. Single missions or online -- it's a lot of fun and you won't be disappointed. And if there is another FPS out there that is as authentic in real world missions and weapons -- I haven't found it.

Summary: Best Delta Force game yet
Review: The Delta Force series of games have been one of my favorites over the last few years, and I have gotten most of my friends and co-workers hooked on it as well. Delta Force 3 has a lot of exotic locations to roam around in, an example of this are the great pyramids at Giza. The graphics have been improved quite a bit, and if you have the computer and graphics card to handle them, it will look awesome. I think the best part of Novalogic games is their online environment Novaworld. This is a great game to play against other people all over the world. You can play against tons of other people at the same time, it makes this game that much better. If you have never played Delta Force I would try out the demo of this first, cause this seems to be a game which people either love or hate, but I love it!

Summary: Best of the bunch
Review: The original Delta Force 1 and 2 were disappointing at best, due to the chunky and poorly rendered video as well as terrible frame rates which do not improve when running on faster PC's. Land Warrior is really what Delta Force should have been in the first place. The standard single player games are ok and can even be somewhat challenging if you notch up the enemy skill level to hard, but the AI is horrible and you can pick off the enemy one by one and there's very little they will do about it. At least in Delta Force 1 they tended to run towards you when alerted, making it somewhat challenging. The golden part of this game is multiplayer, where you pit your skills against real live humans. At that point you realize how good you must be to survive against real players who want to use your forehead for target practice. Newbies will die often, but the enjoyment comes with learning about tactics, many of which are not obvious but can either be lethal to you or the enemy, depending on your skill set. Each weapon has its pluses and minuses, though some are pretty much unusable such as the AK-47, the electric underwater pistol, or the HK-MP5SD3 all of which have lousy accuracy, and poor bullet penetration. Once you become adept at learning which gun is optimal for which map, or become skilled at using a particular weapon, you can rack up usually an impressive 2-1 kill ratio. Other learned skills include good hiding spots, taking advantage of crossfire, certain areas which provide good camouflage despite "black dot" syndrome where you show up fairly easily at the top of a hill, and unconventional areas to "camp" out and/or snipe. Many 3rd party maps have been created by enthusiasts with the included map maker, which really adds to the depth of the game. Stock maps are just boring after awhile. The only limitation is many objects such as buildings are "canned" and you have a limited selection, so you tend to see the same buildings over and over again, though their orientation can make the same buildings much more challenging in a tactical sense. Play over the internet has the usual lag problems, depending upon the quality of your connection. Some have the benefit of a high quality connection and low ping times. This is reflected in their kill ratios though not always. The really good players always seem to know the best techniques for a particular map so you can't blame them or "cheating". As for cheaters, I have seen a few but not as bad as in Delta Force 2, which is pretty much unplayable as one cheater will quickly ruin a game, and they seem to be everywhere. The combination of close order battle, sniping, and general mayhem such as medium range grenading and rocket attacks make for more distinctive gameplay compared to the closed room concept of "Quake" style play, which is fairly limiting. There are many new and often strange features which were added as DF-LW has been updated. Gun emplacements make for new things to deal with in game play, as well as some oddities like "Yetis" which are pretty tough to kill. Yetis with rocket launchers in hand can be quite difficult to deal with as I found out 1st hand once in multiplayer. Toss in a few angry helicopters which have powerful machineguns and you will find yourself doing a lot more ducking rather than shooting. On a final note, positional audio is VITAL to game play, as it gives you critical clues to the locations of snipers or nearby unfriendlies. BTW my favorite weapon is the PSG-1 Silenced Sniper Rifle. If you are getting shot quite a bit and never know where its coming from, thats probably me on the other end. Keep that head down...

Summary: The Last great game in the serise
Review: This game was wonderful. Please note that I said WAS because by now the cheating has gotten so bad on this installment that it is as bad as one and two. Plus You feel like you are really working for your kills as opposed to Delta Force 1 and 2 when you just got a big machine gun and blew everyone away. When you kill someone in this game you feel like you have accomplished something. Minus While the graohics are great(even now) it can be a little coppy Overall-By all means protect yur CD key at all cost, if you lose it you will have to bu another copy.

Review: this is by far the best out of all the delta force series. i have all 3 or them and it runs the smoothest and looks the best. its +'s: 1. much smoother and better than the other 2 2. the missions are fun to play over and over and you can improve your tactics 3. you are able to save your game so you dont have to start over if you have to quit 4. the new weapons are great altho it does have its glitches.... 1. unlike delta force 2, it doesnt have grass and the landscape "waves" at you altho that is what kindo of slaowed down df2 2. the guns look cartoonish and dont act realistic. 3. all bullets you shoot at a person goes through them even though it wont kill someone behind them (with the exceptions of the sniper rifles and a few others) 4. the enemy soldiers are complete idiots even when on hard 5. if you save a game you can change your weapon loaduot and load your game and you will have your new weapons

Summary: Really Fun Game when playing on the NET!
Review: I am new to the world of PC Internet Gaming, so I don't have a frame of reference of a bunch of other PC Games to stack Delta Force:Land Warrior against, however I am a veteran gamer and I do know a fun game when I have played one. Delta Force: Land Warrior is just an average shooter if playing this game by yourself. The real fun with this game, comes with the internet play. With the wide assortment of weapons, scopes and Night Vision and cool 3-D terrain, this is as close to actual warfare as you are going to get. How you choose to play is entirely your choice, whether you prefer the aggressive run and shoot stance, or if you prefer to hang back and pick people off as a sniper, or lob grenades from a hard to see position. Either way this game requires some skill, and it isn't one that you will be instantly good at. It requires lots of practice, and patience. Anyone that has played paintball before will likely enjoy this game, as it requires a lot of the same skills and stealth tactics as paintball warfare. Bottomline, if you are looking for a good war like game, that you want to enjoy with your friends, Delta Force: Land Warrior is a definite hit, and at [money], it is definitely a good value. Recommended!!

Summary: This is one Great game!
Review: If you're looking for a fun game, it's here. If you're looking for cool weapons, and awesome scenery, it's here. If you're looking for cool missions, it's in this game. If you're looking for perfection, look elsewhere. This is the first game that I have gotten in the Delta Force series, and I'm having a blast. I only rated this game four stars because they don't have a 4.5 star option. This game has almost every weapon desirable, from long range sniper rifles to silenced automatic machine guns to underwater weapons. It has missions ranging from killing an assassinator meeting up with a drug lord, to boarding an oil rig at night and wiping out the bad guys. (That oil rig mission is simply awesome!) However, nothing can be perfect. The worst problem is the enemy intelligence. Pitiful comes to mind. It is much to easy even on hard. You can walk into a room and (usually) have to aim for a head-shot without the terrorist shooting at you (or even looking at you, in some cases) Also, there are a couple of glitches, but not bad. The first time I played, I climbed down a ladder and was confronted by a terrorist on the other side. Both of us, however, could not shoot through the ladder. Don't be fooled, though. This is one great game! There are five different characters to play with, each with different specialties. I don't know which is my favorite, "Longbow," a sniper, or "Mako," who is a swimmer and likes the OICW weapon.

Summary: Stupid and Unrealistic and Corny
Review: DFLW is one of the most stupid games ever made. Ok, first of all the missions are easy and it only takes one hit from any gun to kill an enemy, so put all your guns on single shot 'cause it'll save you ammo. The graphics are just plain stupid (The FPS gun models are soooo GAY), but the terrain and evironment are pretty cool. Online play is good, but the stupid FPS gun models make it so GAY!! Also, when the you shoot an enemy, he makes cartoonish moans. DONT BUY THIS JUNK AND BUY A BETTER GAME THATS MORE REALISTIC AND FUN, LIKE COUNTER-STRIKE (BUY CS, ITS THE BEST!)
