Summary: One Last Gasp
Review: More of the same, nuthin' new really. A few new weapons, no new unis, 9 new maps. Really, the Rogue Spear franchise has grown tired and this is a last gasp effort to pull in some green before Ghost Recon leaves Rogue Spear in the dust.

Summary: Boring...
Review: This game continues with the great graphics that Red Storm has been consitant with, HOWEVER, I managed to finish this game in about 2 hours. The only challenge was the many "beat the clock" type scenarios.

BUT, if you never played any of the Rainbow Six collection, this is a must to get you started.

Get it and start wacking TANGO's left and right!

Summary: PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THE JIBBERISH POSTED ABOVE
Review: This game doesn't compare to another others in the series. I am not sure if amateurs are now boxing their products commercially but this game is second rate. The level are way too easy and there were a couple times.

Repeat after me: "I promise I will never ever waste my time on products that are poorly developed and passed off with regarding their customer's intelligence"

Summary: All you people dont know wat youre talking about
Review: This is the best game ever. And can you play urban ops ONLINE??? Yea thats wat i thought.

Summary: Second Rate and Amateurish
Review: Unlike Rogue Spear and Urban Operations, which were developed by the very talented people at Red Storm Entertainment, Black Thorn was developed by a team of UbiSoft employees in their Montreal office who were trained by people from RSE, but who obviously lack their talent. The level design, modelling, and particularly the texturing were second-rate and amateurish, and doesn't compare to the quality of RSE's work on the previous installments in the Rainbow Six/Rogue Spear series.

If you are a fan of Red Storm Entertainment's work then it might be worth buying for the bonus CD (American version only) that contains a feature on the making of Ghost Recon, but don't expect Black Thorn to be on par with Red Storm Entertainment's previous work in Rogue Spear or Urban Operations, or even Covert Operations for that matter. If it weren't for the bonus CD about Ghost Recon, I would have returned it and asked for my money back, it's that bad.

Contrary to the rave reviews that UbiSoft employees have been posting around the net posing as fans and customers, Black Thorn is by far the worst in the series - hardly "the best" as they have been claiming.

Summary: Not very good
Review: Urban Ops was a lot better. The online play addition was nice, but that's all this game is really good for. The earlier R6 games have much better environments and provide a much greater challenge. I think it's pretty bad when one can complete this game on the Veteran setting in under two hours. On the brighter side, the weapons additions are very nice. I'm not too sure how many are added (and they are only available on the multiplayre setting), but they are all pretty fun to play around with. It gives a sense of what the enemy is using against you.

Summary: NOT WORTH IT!!!
Review: Well I think the game was good but it seemed a complete re-hash of all the different Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear games! UBI - SOFT, you can do better! Firstly, when you shoot the lights, they don't blow up or stop emmitting light! One good thing is that - they did this in Urban Ops - when you shoot the fire extinguishers, spray does come out and it stops, but when you shoot it again it sprays for exactly the same length of time, also the guns, as someone wrote in a different review, have been described wrongly, some of them take the wrong ammo!

Disappointing!

Covert Ops came out on the 1st March 2002 and I have ordered it, it takes AGES to arrive! It better be better than this!

Apart from a few mistakes, the game is worth buying and you do NOT need any other Rainbow Six game or Rogue Spear game!

Covert Ops also does not need any previous version of Rainbow Six or Rogue Spear!

I also reccommend The TOM CLANCY book called RAINBOW SIX. It is very good and if you haven't already played the FIRST Rainbow Six game, then read the book first!
