Summary: When You Age
Review: .... It took me many days to get my joystick to work with this program. Yet, you still need to use the keyboard when you want to slow down, use the breaks, and release the landing gear. I flew a little and it made my head spin. Some years ago I would recover from my dizziness and would go right on playing. But now it is just not fun anymore. This program does not make me forget that it is computer-generated planes I am trying to shoot down. When you see the real planes the program is attempting to simulate, even if it is just on TV, you will always think about how pale this electronic imitation really is. .... Still, strategy games of war are fun for me, while this is an exercise in getting dizzy and disoriented.

Review: ...after reinstalling usaf and setting compatibility to windows 2000 for XP the usaf seemed to work much better...I guess the ati 9700works fine with this game,but I figured this out without ati tech help!...for windows 95,98&ME the game runs fine and good on XP with compatibility set to Windows 2000...enjoyable simulator,especially mid-air refueling near hostile area...fill-up,lock-on, fire and flee!

Summary: USAF-Close but Flawed
Review: I spent hours playing USNF97 Viet Nam era missions, so I was eager to boot up Janes USAF. At first blush, this game looks terrific. With the appropriately sarcastic Col. "Scooter" Davis as your IP, you go through training at Nellis. In my case I flew most missions in the F-105 "Thud". Once through training, I started to fly some of the pre-set VN missions. Here are the problems I see in this game that distract greatly from its overall rating. 1) Air launched missiles, Sparrow, Shrike and Sidewinder are 100% accurate. I had my setting at "Realistic". Reading of this era combat details how notorious the Sparrow was for just falling off the rails. If you launch, you will get a kill. 2) The worst problem, your wingman are ineffective. In flying a mission against the Paul Doumer bridge, I've taken 100% casualities most of the time, that is MigCap, Weasel and Strike aircraft all get shot down. Some of these are just crashing into the ground. I know it was rough and those men who flew the missions had a lot of guts, but in the game it is almost impossible to have a successful mission because the rest of team does not do their job. 3) The published patch is suppose to fix some of the A/I problems. However I have tried about half a dozen times and can't get it load. 4) For some reason the maps in the mission generator won't load. I have yet to figure this one out. I really want to like this game. It is good for a couple of weeks, but does not seem to have the long term interest of EAW, Mig Alley or MSCS2-Pacific.

Review: IF U R INTERESTID IN A COMBAT OR FLIGHT GAME OR MILLITARY BUY THIS IT IS THE BEST THAN ALL SIMS I PLAYED ALL EVEN THOSE GAMES THT SAY THAY R THE BEST IS NOT THE BEST MY BEST PARTS THE CAMPAINS MISSIONS AND PLANES THAY GOT THE COOLEST PLAYNES AROUNT AND THE GRAPHECS EVEN THE GROND OPJECTS LIKE THE VIETNAM CAMPAIN WHEN I FLEW THAIR THE FIRST TIME I REALY NEW THIS IS VIETNAM FROM THE GRAPHECS IREAD BOOKS I SAW PHOTOS IT LOOKED LIKE IN THE BOOKS FROM THE PHOTOS I THE CAMPAINS AND I LIKE OF COURSE EVERYTHING ELSE.
