Summary: The Best Game of ALL TIME
Review: I purchased Half-Life in June of '99. I played it for about 5 minutes and I instantly knew I was hooked. The graphics are superb. The AI is absolutely phenomenal. I have never played a game where I felt like they WERE out to get me. You are not treated great in this game, if you can't defend yourself, you will not survive. This is the best game EVER created .

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: What do you mean overcharge? BOOM! Hahahahahahah.
Review: This is the perfect game winning game of the year at over 60 sites and magazines. The humorous scripted sequences, short load, the neat weapons (ecspecially the Egon) and the times where you say "Whoa, this game kicks!" were all done perfectly. A truly perfect game.

Summary: MULTIPLAYER
Review: the net rules, just like the normal game. The first time I played it, it was internet play, and not knowing what to do, and I played for 5 hours, and I knocked the crud out of the other side. I also was a spy, and it looked like I traited, so I stole the flag many times, and nobody knew, until they spotted me with the flag. It is easy to get the controls into your brain, with THE BEST GRAPHICS.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Much-hyped game with flaws that forced me to return it.
Review: PRO's: Has an unfolding story (unlike Quake), interesting environments, scripted sequences are very effective, weapons are very innovative (e.g. throw alien critters at enemies). CON's: Graphics are good but not great, the game stops to load every ten minutes (in general, if you see a long empty hall, expect a load point or even two) which is very distracting and annoying, many times the game will hang on a load point and you need to press escape to get out to the main menu and back again, sound is adequate but not memorable. The all-time king of first person shooters has yet to arrive...

Summary: Half-Life: nothing short of revolutionary
Review: Half-Life is bar none the greatest FPS ever created. It has raised the bar in every category save graphics, and the only titles currently in release that can top it in that category are those based on the Unreal Engine (the release of Quake III is liable to change that). No longer are FPS's mindless "Kill everything that moves" frag-fests. Half-Life is completely immersive, totally creepy, and brilliantly designed. As close to perfect as an action title will most likely ever be. This game more than deserves the rating given to it by PC Gamer magazine: Greatest Game Ever Made.

Summary: Greatest Game of All Time
Review: There is no other game on the face of this planet that comes close to Half Life. You can hardly even call it a game, its more of an interactive move. The game looks so real, and things happen that you would not expect to happen in a game. This is not a world that was created for you in which everything is there for you to shoot at. It feels like a world that doesnt care about you, and things blow up in your face, things fall on your head, thing go about their merry buissness, not caring whether you are there or not. Nothing was forgotten here. Do yourself a favor, tell your girlfriend you are going on vacation, and buy this game. Turn the lights off, turn the sound up, and live this experience through-you will never forget it!

Summary: Oh my god! What a GREAT GAME!
Review: Half Life is not just an ordinary "shoot and ask questions later" game. This is completely different.

-you confront very intelligent creatures -you have scientists and guards helping you and which are crucial to your survival -you have loads of surprises and things to experiment in Half Life

Even though I don't have a top notch computer, I enjoy it very much (I bought it in May and I see play it again and again! )

Go ahead and buy it now!

And don't forget the expansion pack, "Opposing Force"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Superior to all first person shooters!
Review: Half-Life is a really great game. It applies a mysterious story line with a large world to explore, a huge bestiary of enemies and more weapons than you can handle. Half-Life blasts you into the character, a scientist, Gordan Freeman, and everything is great...until the experiment goes horribly wrong! Now with no friends to turn to, monsters everywhere, and a military death squad out to kill everything related to the project, can you escape before you wind up in a body bag? 5-stars all the way! *****

Summary: VERY good Game!
Review: This is one of the best first-person shoot em up games EVER. In single player it offers a very interesting plot that you get involved in, and the online multiplayer is even better, especially with the tfc and counterstrike mods! The only game that might be better than this is Aliens vs Predators, but it is by so little that it is hard to tell exactly which is better.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Bar-none,the best FPS ever with no immediate contenders
Review: Half-life has restored my confidence that the software industry can produce intelligent, visually pleasing, entertaining, and involving games, all in one package. With a totally engrossing single-player game and rollicking multiplayer, Half-life is the new and undisputed powerhouse in the FPS genre.

Although the story lacks originality, the plot is revealed and implemented in a wholly appropriate way. The game is entirely unbroken, with no discrete stops between levels; you can even go back to a previous level. Even though the gameplay is linear in nature, the excellent level design always gives the feeling that there are things going on that you can't control. Any imbalance in the weapons in single-player mode is made up for by the judicious availability of ammunition. Items always are found in logical places.

The artificial intelligence is truly awe-inspiring. Soldiers work together in teams, laying down cover fire, throwing grenades with deadly accuracy, flanking your position, and generally disallowing the stale strategy of "wade in with guns blazing." If you do not like being beaten by a machine then you should not play this game.

The multiplayer extends the game's replay value indefinitely. Although slightly lag-prone over the internet, the game is fun nonetheless. The weapons in multiplayer are superbly balanced. A few maps are included with the game and countless user-made arenas are available online, ranging from wide-open bloodbaths to intricate cat-and-mouse chases. Several mods are available as well, such as Team Fortress Classic and CounterStrike, which extend the multiplayer gameplay to more intelligent, team-based bouts.

This game has outdone every similar program that has come before it and I have a feeling that FPS's for years to come will be regarded as merely pretenders to the throne.
