Rating: Summary: Very good and ridiculously large Review: This game is simply huge. I played through it mainly ignoring all the sub-quests and followed the main route, which took me longer than most games, and I loved it. The plot is top-knotch, the depth is endless and the games features are fantastic, such as 300+ spells, superb NPCs, great locales, epic battles, items and weapons to die for, dozens of good monsters and an excellent main villain. After all that I fired it up for another go through in preparation for Throne of Bhaal. I was gobsmacked at the amount of side-quests you could partake in. It turns out I played about a quarter of the game going through it normally and missed out on some fantastic adventures. This is the best RPG ever made for computer in my opinion even though Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast were classics, this is better!
Rating: Summary: An enormous game well worth its price. Review: I was a big fan of the first Baldur's Gate. So when this game came out, naturally I had to rush out and get it. I was not disappointed. This game is simply epic in scope. It is HUGE! I was glued to my computer screen literally for months. Though it takes a long time to finish, there is never a dull moment in the game. The quests are intriguing, the NPCs interesting, and the dungeon and city areas intricate and detailed. I lost many nights of sleep trying to complete a mini-quest or defeat one of the more annoyingly hard-to-kill monsters such as a dragon or a lich. The important thing, though, is that I had fun doing so.I also liked the fact that this time around the game provided the option of a full install. No more annoying CD switching. The game for the most part worked fine on my Pentium II 350 MHz. There were never any crashes, but occasionally it would suffer from slowdowns and the audio would stutter. After a while this can become really annoying. I don't know if the patch fixes this or not, since I didn't bother to download it, but for the sake of other gamers I hope it does. The game controls are pretty easy to learn, but it helps if you've played a DnD game before to understand the combat system. Sometimes the game becomes a tad overwhelming, especially when you have to know exactly what each spell does and when to use it. One shouldn't have to memorize an entire textbook-sized manual to fully enjoy a game, but playing BGII I often felt like you were at a disadvantage if you didn't. Overall, though, I highly recommend BGII. It definitely gives you the most bang for your gaming buck. If you are an RPG fan, this game is a must. If you have never played an RPG before, this is the perfect place to start. I can't wait for BGII's expansion pack, Throne of Bhaal, to come out so the adventure can start all over again.
Rating: Summary: A lot of bang for your buck here! Review: This has to be the best RPG ever! There is so much to see and do it will take you literal days to finish this game. The storyline is very engrossing, and the number of spells and items available are incredible. I have finished the game twice now as two different characters, and I still have yet to do accomplish everything! I can't wait for the Throne of Bhaal expansion!
Rating: Summary: Butt-Kicking for Goodness,Boo! Review: This is the BEST computer RPG I have EVER seen!!Not only is the animation terrific, the sound flawless, the story compelling, butI have also discovered many,MANY ways to get ALL the goodies! Most of my information can be garnered by purchasing the BG2"Perfect Guide" (published by Versusbooks)on Amazon.com...and reading a review by "Cheatnut"(that's me) Once you own this game you'll never see your family again!
Rating: Summary: Baldur's Gate II: The greatest game EVER!!! Review: I played BG1, and i thought "This isn't fun!!!" Then i bought CGW, & played bg2. I was amazed. the voices, the storyline, it was all amazing. THANK YOU BLACK ISLE, INTERPLAY, AND BIOWARE! This game is worth every single bit if your money...
Rating: Summary: BG 2 Review: This is the best Role playing stradegy to Ever come out. It has unbeatable game play, value, everything. It has more gameplay time than Diablo 1 and 2 added together. New spells, good graphics, new characters, everything you could possibly ask for in an RPG. It would be a shame if you actually paid money for Diablo II (...) when you could have spent the money, on Baldur's Gate II, only ... dollars more.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Awesome Review: If you do not like this game then you are not alive! This game has kept me entertained for hours and hours and I have never grown tired of it. There are great additions and improvements over Baldur's Gate I that make the game run smoother and make it much more entertaining. I will not spoil the plot line, but will say be prepared for some serious gaming! My only 'beef' with the game is that at one point you are thrown into an 'unbreakable' plot line that does not allow for much leeway. Like the 'official' review says, this game has over 100 subplots and I would suggest doing the majority of these early in the game to get your character up in levels. Spend your money and enjoy, you will not be disappointed :-)
Rating: Summary: Hard, but rewarding Review: BG2 is possibly the largest RPG ever. This game manafacuter has garunteed, if you play the game through to the end, 500 hours of gameplay. This is a large sum, but excpects that you would do a lot of the fun, non required quests. This game is very difficult, this why it got only three stars! You must save and load very often, though the game makes it very easy to do so. This isn't anything like Diablo, where you slice through everything with just one guy. THIS GAME REQUIRES EVERYON IN YOUR PARTY TO WORK TOGETHER TO BEAT ENEMIES! Sometime durring battle, one of your characters may die, so you would want to reload the game before you continue. This game is great, if it doesn't wear you out in the first couple of hours. If you are a vetren with RPGs or played Baulder's Gate 1, then this is the game for you. If this is new, I would suggest the strategy guide, and a good friend who is a veteren with RPG's, played Baulder's Gate 1, or owns the game and is father thatn you. With that being said, go ahead, buy the game, but be warned.
Rating: Summary: The best RPG ever. Review: I enjoy most RPG games but Baldur's Gate 2; Shadow of Amn introduced me to a different kind of RPG with tons of choices to make and each one making a huge impact on what happens in the game. They have great characters which you will either love or hate to the end. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadow of Amn is definitly the best RPG ever and I hope more like it are made or even better ones.
Rating: Summary: The best i have seen yet! i wish i could give it more stars! Review: BG2:SoA is a truly magnificant game. There are many more detailed (and rewarding!) sidequests than in the original Baldur's Gate, and the story is just phenomenal! Pursuing the romantic options with the NPCs is also a lot of fun, I think. Creating the character is a lot more interesting than in BG1. In addition to a new race, there are several sub-classes which leave a myriad of options open. The only thing I didn't like was the new portraits, but it's very simple to import your own portrait, so it wasn't really an issue. The players also move faster than in BG1, which is a real relief, after watching the characters in BG1 crawl sluggishly to their appointed place. The settings are varied; you even make an excursion down to the Underdark. The graphics are beautiful, and there are great items, including various armors made from dragon scales. There are exotic villans, and the game can be quite challenging, depending on the difficulty level. Be warned, there are A LOT of riddles in this game, and some are a little hard. All in all, this is a VERY addictive game. You won't be seeing your family anytime soon once you start playing.
