Summary: SOF 2 Great Game
Review: I bought this game 3 months ago due to the reviews listed here at Amazon.com and am still enjoying it. The GORE technology is awesome it makes the blood and gore more realistic. The graphics are very detailed (WARNING YOU WILL NEED A GOOD GRAPHICS CARD TO PLAY THIS GAME ON FULL GRAPHICS MODE). The enemy AI is also excellent sometimes a little to good, like throwing a grenade right at you, or seeing you behind foliage even while you are crawling. The game is full of action and does not stop. The missions are interesting but the plot is a little odd. The overall game play experience is AWESOME. I think this game is one of the year's best.

Summary: Whoa...Now this is a shooter
Review: Well if your in first person shooters, you've come to the right place. I've played just about every hot FPS that has come out in the past year or so (and reviewed MANY of them on amazon, but this one needs its own category.

The graphics are truly awesome. The sound is up there with Ghost Recon (although not QUITE as intense), and the game play is great. Anyone who says the enemy AI is no good is obviously playing this game on amatuer level or something. At some points its actually to GOOD. You get 5 quick saves per section, which is usually plenty if you use them wisely. The story isn't the GREATEST, but hey it works just fine. The weapons are cool, but the real difference in this game to others is the graphic violence.

There is a parental violence lock in the options menu, and you'll soon find out why. With full violence enabled, you'll probably be shocked at what is shown after you blast your enemy 20 times with an AK 47. I wont go into details, but this is DEFINETLY an ADULT game if violence is fully enabled. Trust me. If your into that kind of realism, then it just adds to how great this game is. Personally I think its amazing just how real it all is.

Overall I think this is one of the better games that has come out in the past year for the PC. Its a fun, fast paced, eye candy loaded game. Enjoy.

For reference, the two systems I ran this game on were:

P 4 2.8ghz, Geforce 4 Ti 4600, 512 MB RAM, 19inch Trintron monitor

and

P 4 1.6, Geforce 3 Ti 200, 700 MBs Ram, 21 inch trinitron monitor

Except for slight slowdowns on the 1.6, it pretty much looked the same on both, except when 4x AA was enabled on the 2.8.

Summary: WOW - Even better than the first !!!
Review: I have read other reviews on this game and all I have to say is that this is no ordinary first person shooter. This game has gone the distance with graphics, AI, and has an incredible story line to follow which in some way is uncommon in a FPS. I mean Wolfenstein and Medal of Honor are both excellent games, I just use these two particular games as examples because anyone who loves FPS gaming have most likely played thes games. I have completed the game two times now and am considering playing a third time after I finish the other current games that I am playing ( Die Hard, C&C Renegade, Red Faction, Operation Flashpoint, and Neverwinter Nights ). I recently invested in a new Ge-Force 4 128mbTI4600 video card and all I can say is that the graphics on SOF 2 are nothing short of amazing. Another plus to this game is the realistic violence. I know that many parents do not care for this type of thing and the game does include a violence lock with password for younger players. For us older gamers, I think that we appreciate a nice gory game where it so properly belongs. I try to not make my reviews too long so in closing, I will say that this game is one in a long time to really excite me and keep me playing for hours on end. It is not too easy even on the easy setting, so it should be a challeng to finish even for a constant FPS player. Get this game. You will not be dissapointed.

Summary: game for the ages......somewhat
Review: the gore....a+
the weps....a+
the maps....a+
THE SCHEME..D

The blood is outrageous backed up by a unique gore feature...which locks the gore for all you parents with curious children as I once was. State of the art weapons choice. The Maps are as detailed as they come with a (geforce 4 ti 4200) game is a storage sucker. But as another review said the shceme was all in all impossible. He would often walk into hostile areas armed with his m4 and his pistol...or if you didn't apply the cheats as I did. Every corney there is a terrorist bunker as if United Nations was going to turn that corner, yet to say the least one man.

Summary: Not Bad...
Review: Excellent graphics & cinematics, a strong plot-line and a shocking quantity of weapons available for use. A good game if you are in to shoot-em-ups, but somewhat lacking in the interaction and strategy departments.

Not only is stealth operation for all intensive purposes impossible, but you just get the feeling that you are in the situations alone. It is also somewhat unrealistic to send one person into an area known to be controlled by 50+ terrorists (and expect anything other than a bloodbath). Not very believable in that respect, no matter what kind of arsenal is at your disposal. Some of the missions pair you up with support, but it is still very..."scripty".

Nevertheless, great environmental effects, realistic AI and an abrupt, but satisfying ending somewhat makes up for the shallowness of the interaction with this world.

Summary: My Second Review
Review: I am currently re-playing SOFII and wanted to throw out a few more comments. I still stand by my initial assessment that the A.I is horrible and predictable like before. The graphics are very much improved though thanks to the excellent Q3 engine used this time. I did find the game to be a bit more buggy than I have been accustomed to seeing from the Q3 engine in other games that utilized it as well. I got frustrated on several levels of the game that required stealth. You don't have any silent weapons that I have seen except the knife and a pistol with a silencer on it. The problem I have run into though is that any little action or movement you do sets off the alarms even if the soldiers don't know you're there so it makes it near impossible to complete these levels. The first time I played the game it took me 20-30 times each to finally finish the stealth oriented levels. It just boils down to poor organization in parts of the game. Overall though it was a great game. It has a great plot and an engrossing storyline. That combined with the great graphics made it an excellent game to play. I hope there is a SOF III to come.

Summary: Excellent...If you've got the rig!
Review: SOF2...While the graphics have been spoken of in a less than favorable tone, I feel that, sadly , those people are due for a processor, motherboard and video card upgrade if they want impressive graphics. The default settings lean to the side of performance (speed). Slightly better graphics may be attainable with some adjustment of the detail settings. Graphics look as good (or better) than MOH2,RTCW. They should, same engine. Gameplay is great if you like gore, and plenty of it. Sound is unbelievable on a SB Audigy w/EAX. Get the rig first...then get the game!!

Summary: Multiplayer is very fun
Review: First off, I haven't played Counter-Strike so I'm fresh to the tactical shooter genre, but based on what everyone has said it is VERY similar. But take into account these facts.

1. I've seen screens of CS, and the SOF2 graphics are superior.

2. The gore is awesome, if a little too disgusting at times.

3. Like I said, haven't played CS, but the weapons look better too. The recoil is realistic, and you actually have to aim to kill your opponent. But, if your not careful, you'll die quick out in the open. You can lean outta corners and pop 'em quick anyway.

4. Last but not least for multiplay (MP), I know the cheating on CS, or any other half life mod for that matter, is extremely bad. Various commands and hacks allow auot-aim, quickly ending an enjoyable MP experience. SOF2 MP is real fun and cheating is almost non-existent

5. As for single-player it's decent, its just fun to see the bad guys do their different death animations really. Seeing what weapons have different effects on simulated flesh and all. The RMG(random-mission-generator) is also good but only if you have a good computer. It allows for some nice replay, and some missions allow you to take various entrances into bases/encampments by puttin in little creeks and side passages with cover so you can pop 'em with minimal effort and maximum enjoyment.

Bottom Line: If you are intrigued/interested about what I've said, buy. You won't regret it.

Summary: Soldier of Fortune II
Review: Well I've had this game for about a month and a half now and generally I would say it is a very good game. Lots of action and gore to keep you happy. Graphics are nice and there are not to many glitches. The variety of weapons is great, with the sniper's rifle being my favorite. Something about watching a head pop through a scope makes me happy. That said I must say this game is very hard. The jungle sequences are frustrating to see the least. Here are a few points that I fine frustrating. First, trying to throw a grenade on your enemy is damn near impossible. The enemy has the distinct advantage of being able to run out of the way almost everytime. Second, you can only throw and shoot your grenades a few yards in front of you so be carefully. Third, the enemy posses the ability to toss a grenade hundreds of yards and with pin-point accuracy. That includes around trees (see jungle) and corners. This also goes for their shooting ability. Fourth, there are times when you are shooting at someone and you waste a whole mag. on them and not even hit them once and I am talking close up. Finally, there are sections where it seems no matter what you do you are going to be hit. Guess that is part of the game but frustrating when you are hiding behind something and the enemy shoots around the corner and hits you. There are some excellent scenes through. The hospital, the drug lord's mansion, and the airport sections are a blast to play. I have played them over and over and they still peak my interest. In closing I would recommand this game for experience FPS players. It provides many hours of fun, although at times you want to scream, and enjoyment. I wouldn't recommand this game to a first timer or children for obvious reason. Oh almost forgot. Has anybody experience loading save games problems? It seems if I save alot (something you will have to do) I have problems loading them. Have to go into the games and erase a majority of the saves. Anyone experience this? Anyways good hunting.
