Summary: Dead Review.
Review: The premise of this game was nice. I expected more from Clive Barker. The direction of this story gets lost. I found the plot becoming weaker as the game progressed. The atmosphere was nice. The characters were too stiff. The game is pretty much straight forward. There's one spell which had a physical affect on me. When the screen turns into a purple haze to see and hear beyond normal senses, I found that my eyes became strained. I suffered eye damage from this game. Becareful.

Summary: Great spooky game!
Review: There were several "Oh ...!!" moments in this game. That is, I was so engrossed in the atmoshpere of the game that when attacked I would be startled. Just like a horror movie that I was staring in. Really cool. Wish there were more types of these games out there.

Summary: Awesome Game
Review: This game is actually like an addiction, there is loads of crazy non stop action, gore like you wouldn't believe,and a [great] storyline. I was actually temped to turn my computer off and hide under my bed it gets that freaky. The scary sounds total complement the game's erie atmosphere. I recommend this game to anyone, even if you are not a horror fan. The controls were awesome, using the lift mouse button for your weapons and the right hand button for spells(great for fast attacking). The characters are great and you have the ability to gaze into the past and see strange events that have happened long ago. Buy it Now!!!

Summary: Too scared to play it
Review: This game is terrifying to play. If you don't mind being scared out of your wits this is the game for you.It is truly beyond creepy. I loaded the game and played it for an hour then uninstalled it because I couldn't take the tension anymore. Buy it if you go for that sort of thing.

Review: This game was a pleasant surprise for me. I bought it in a combo package with "Alice" (a great game as well) and I didn't realize it was a first-person shooter in a horror story. A great combination for a game! The scenery is excellent, the creatures are nasty and come at you with everything they have, and the main enemies you confront are downright terrifying. Without giving too much away I found Lizbeth to be one nasty woman, someone you don't want to run into even in your worst nightmare. Playing it at night it certainly seemed like my younger days when I would get scared at something and left the light on in my room. A great game to play!

Summary: Holy Cow!!
Review: This game was to much to handle. I finished it but be prepared for long hours! There were certain points I could'nt take the tension no more and had to shut it down. You dont know what can come around any corner,you will run into a room and nothing is in there then you pass a mirror and there is something floating behind you. You jump in your seat just like a thriller movie. The graphics are fantastic. There were moments I had to pause and take in the scenery like I was on vacation!
But heed my warning this game is hard! Even on easy. Clive Barker is a genius. This game should be made into a movie.

Summary: Dripping with Atmosphere
Review: To be honest, I have to say I was never really scared in this game. Maybe it's just never waiting until it was dark, or the quality of my screen, or something. Startled, yes, but I was never seriously freaked out. However, terror is one facet of the game; take it away, and you've still got a game with incredible atmosphere. The first level alone sets the mood. If you rush through it, then it takes all of ten seconds. But if you talk to the gardener, you'll hear an amusing tidbit. And if you listen carefully, as you walk under a lamp headed to the house, you'll here a gentle whisper. *look* So, you scrye (one of the first spells) and... But, that would be telling, wouldn't it. The weapons are also well done. With some exceptions (do the Phoenixes have enough screen time to get used?), each tool has it's own place throughout the game. You need many spells at times (haste and flight are essential for some puzzles), and will also find less essential uses for them. Although some of the spells are more useful (Skull Storm) then others (Lightning), and some weapons (Scythe of the Celt) are superior to others (Molotov Cocktail), by and large the tools are balanced. And, given a lack of the multiplayer that requires fine tuning them, that's all that's needed. The story itself seems solid enough, though the end some how leaves one with more questions then answers. If a film was to be made out of this game, hopefully the end would be more satisfying. Better still, they could easily keep the plot without it seeming silly. Unlike, say, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, home of undead and Nazi's.
Which, incidentally, is getting a movie. In closing, this is one of those games that is far more then the sum of it's parts: excellent atmosphere, well designed weapons, and all other manner of good. A hearty recommendation.

Summary: Maybe the Best Horror Game Ever on the PC
Review: When it was released, Clive Barker's Undying didn't have astronomical sales figures like the Sims, and it never carried a heavy fan following like Half-Life. As a matter of fact, EA had planned on releasing an expansion for this game but cancelled it after poor sells numbers. But this game has to be one of the most underrated titles to ever grace the PC. I believe the popular game reviewer Gamespy even listed it in its all-time top 25 underrated titles. That's a shame because many gamers will never know the terrific game they missed. Undying is a combination first-person shooter and horror game and no shooter has ever effectively combined both genres since. It's been a few years since Undying was released but its graphics can still compete with current games and the game adds a superb compliment of artwork and sounds to top off the experience. And that's what this game is -- an experience! If you don't have headphones or an expensive set of PC speakers, you truly do miss out on the experience of playing this game. The giant haunted estate in which your character spends plenty of time investigating rumors of the paranormal for his old war buddy are memorable gaming moments and the game spooked me so much I even caught myself glancing behind my shoulder when I played it at night. A wonderful game with a top notch story to go with it as well as a creative weapons and magic system, I recommend anyone who hasn't played Clive Barker's Undying yet to pick it up before it's gone forever.

Scared... me from start to finish....
A First Person Shooter with a nice twist...you can use both hands at the same time (also big points cause you're left handed....hehe)
Fast paced - there were times when I wanted to take it slow and explore like you can do in most fps's but was just constently hounded by evil creatures....awesome! kept the action going and had to go back to the areas later to explore.
Gets a bit repetitious like all FPS but the story really keeps this game interesting.
Great graphics, eerie settings and hellish creatures, you just can't lose.
