Summary: The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
Review: When I heard about this, that's what I thought. It is a spark of genius. You design a golf course. It couldn't be easier to learn, and it's so addictive. This is the best game I own. It beat out The Sims Unleashed and PGA Championship Golf on the top of my computer. So simple, and anyone can enjoy it. The true golf nut, the occasional golfer, or the person who has nothing better to do with their time than play random PC games. My advice: Buy it if you have a lot of free time. You'll get addicted.

Summary: A surprisingly fun game!
Review: You wouldn't think this could be all that much fun, but it kept me entertained for hours. This truely was a surprise to me. A cure little game like this, and it is just as fun as all the high-profile, high-budget games...

There are some shortcomings though. For one, the graphics would be much more impressive, if there were more zoom levels. There is all kinds of stuff going on, and I would like to see these things up close.

Also, I ended up running out of things to do on some of the courses. It would be nice if one could build more than one course on a property. For instance, I ended up building an 18 hole course on a lot that was a bit too small for it really. Therefore, I ended up building a course that was too short overall for tournements. But once I got more land, it was too much of a pain to redo it all. I wish I could have built a second 9-hole course, and perhaps even picked individual holes out of both courses, to make up an 18 hole championship course.

I also wished I'd have a bit more influence of the actual definition of a hole. While you are in full control of the actual layout of the hole, it is not possible to set whether it's a par 3, 4, or 5. It does so simply by length of the whole. If you build a very tricky hole however, the destination from the tee to the green may be short, but it may require to play the long way around. Therefore, par 3 clearly isn't right. Another issue is that each hole only has one tee. How about women's and champion tees?

Overall, constructing courses and holes is very straightforward. A very worthwhile game!

PS: There are quite a few bugs in the boxed version. Nothing too serious. Mainly weird graphical effects. Make sure to visit the web site for patches.

Summary: A SimGolf Review by a owner,
Review: I've had this for a wile and i've gotten Adictive to it because its so good. I think that anybody that would like this game its funny and fun at the same time. and you can Learn (a little) from this about golf. But its where you start out as a owner of a Park, Dessert, etc, Anyway you try to Build a Major Golf club. But there is money in this so don't think you will get everything free. of "Course" there is a sandbox mode where you can just build a Course with infinite money. And I also like the Big selecton of different Terrain. But I think the coolest part about it is that you get to play your own Course for a change like in some games you can build them but not try. I would reccomend this for a Present or if you just want a new game.

Summary: Good game, but gets tedious
Review: First off, don't expect SimGolf to in anyway represent real golf. It's a great game though, one I enjoyed for quite some time. There are many different locations you can stage your golf course, from the desert to the tree filled mountains. Each setting has its own unique flavor and personality. You start off by building rather small simplistic holes, then once you earn enough money, move up and build more expensive and elegant courses. One thing I dispised is the fact you need to have all of your holes have a really high imagination rating for a respectful SGA event to visit town. To make them imaginative, you have to make the course very unrealistic, then if you have one too many hard shots, all the players whine and moan and the fun rating goes down, sending that hole to unacceptable for the SGA. Aside from that (which you adjust to), its a great game. It's really fun to build your course and see it alive with action. As for playing the course yourself, that is an overstatement, you just click where you want your guy to hit the ball and hope that he hits it okay. Overall, it a good game, but has some flaws they should have worked out.

Summary: Not as fun as the first Sims...
Review: Sims golf is fun to play. You can build the 18 golf holes to shoot golf balls for the sims people or for yourself to shoot.
You can buy more land as your sims golfers pay money to play on your golf course. But about after 4 hours of Sims golfs it gets boring. In short, I rater play the first sims.
The first sims, you can build a house, make your own sims people,
buy other sims programs to play more sims place's or to build.
Hot Date sims, Unleash sims, Vacation sims and so on.

Summary: Got old fast
Review: I enjoyed SimGolf for the first few hours I played it. Building a highly rated course was a fun challenge. I eventually learned the 'template' to creating highly rated holes, however this 'template' doesn't mesh with realistic golf.

I play the traditional three-click swing golf games, and I was not challenged with the method of playing the course presented here.

SimGolf is not a bad game. I got several hours of enjoyment out of it, but it then became quite tedious.

Summary: Sim City meets Roller Coaster Tycoon. Loads-O-Fun
Review: Incredibly addictive. Sim Golf is closer to Roller Coaster Tycoon than sim city due to the people interaction. You can actually golf on the course you make but it's not very detailed like the serious golf games, but this fits the SIM's genre perfect.

Summary: Quality cake with nasty crisco frosting
Review: Sure, this game is fun in a progressive, construction set way. Civilization simplfied and narrowed to keeping your golfers amused, not playing too slowly, and well fed and rested. No doubt, building a golf course and watching the little guys take it on is fun for a while. The game is cake.

But... Entering and exiting the game is a pain, it takes forever considering the modest graphics and sound. I'm using a new, fast P4, why does it take so long to load, and why is EA so paraniod about priracy that you have to enter a code, and then, everytime you start up, the CD has to be in your CD drive. Also, why can't a simple tap on the enter key skip over the intro, and why two screens and an animation just to get out of the game. The frosting is just sickenly sweet and greasy. Oh, and all this is after downloading the patches from the website.

The basic game is great (after patches), but the stupid, stupid stuff that EA (apparently) did to it just annoys me. I suggest you skip the hassle and look at something else.
