Summary: Great Family Game -You'll get caught up!
Review: My ten year old son received this game as a gift and loves it! With very little outside instruction from(parents)he was on his way to building fun and challenging amusement parks. It teaches many things including making & losing money. It also encourages taking care of what you own and that you can build something that works well if you try. I pass by and end up standinding behind him for 1/2 an hour. I can't wait to try myself. This is a great game if you want to avoid the dark magic or violent action ones that parents try to avoid.

Summary: Awesome is all I can say!
Review: This was the first simulation game I ever got, and it is certainly one of the best. It is easy to learn and control and even easier to get addicted. Unlike other simulation games, RC Tycoon is a game that allows you to freely design your park and rollercoasters without worrying about challenging scenarios (if you want a challenge from this game, I'd recommend the Loopy Landscapes expansion). But the lack of a "real" challenge doesn't hurt: who ever had a problem with a "worry-free" game, when it comes to building an awesome simulation. It might be old, and it might seem low compared to all the new sims, but I don't think that the RC Tycoon craze ending is anywhere in sight, and if you like simulations, this is the game to get (and can you possibly ignore the price...).

Summary: Unlock your creative energy... relaxing... & never the same!
Review: This is the one. I have owned this game and continued to play it since it debuted over two years ago. I have watched it sit on the best seller charts for two years.

Okay, in the modern era of 3D the graphics are a little dated. Sure it's just sprite animation, but the beauty is in the details Chris Sawyer and his team added. In a 3D game (see the awful SimThemePark and SimCoaster for examples), this level of minute detail can't be added, there just aren't polygon pushing graphics cards in existence to do it. So the reality is they are only dated because the game industry says 3D is the thing, and not because they are less beautiful and detailed.

The sound in this game is quite remarkable. As you scan your park you'll intuitively now what parts are popular because you'll just hear that familiar buzz of humanity when you pass over it. You know what I mean, the soft buzz you hear at a baseball game in between innings or even at Disneyland throughout your day. It's just the sound of a ton of people all in one place. You'll know you're passing over your most popular ride because you hear the screams of riders and giggles of people at the ride exit. Oddly enough, next time you go to a theme park, you'll swear you hear sounds right from this game on the thrill rides.

The brilliant idea of letting you create your own rides makes the game as limitless as your imagination. If you're a theme park nut, how can you resist trying to build your own Disneyland, and watching small visitors enjoy your masterpiece? You'll never create the same park twice because your imagination will send you in different directions each time.

Are there some problems with this game? Absolutely, but only after TWO years of playing. The fan community for this title has a long laundry list of things they would love to see in an RCT 2, but this is just a testament to how detailed and fun the first game is. It simply is a reflection that the game's fans can't wait for a sequel.

Go ahead and get this and pick up the Loopy Landscapes expansion. It is well worth it. If you have Windows 2000, then be sure to visit the official web site for a patch. I can't tell if you if XP is supported, you'll want to check their official site.

There is a massive fan community on the web that has devoted hours to writing special tools and "trainers" to let you unlock a few things this game's designer didn't see fit to add. But don't let that scare you away. Without any of those things you will find hours of enjoyment, especially if you are a theme park nut.

If this game came out in 2001, I think it would still be worthy on five stars. Consider when it DID come out, and ask yourself how you missed out on this one.

Summary: "Very, Very, Very, Very, Very Addictive.."
Review: This game is the only computer game I play since I've gotten it. Once you start, the fun doesn't end here! You get to build awesome rollercoasters that make your guests actually throw up! It's not so fun to find that all on your paths though. It's very addictive. There are about 14 rollercoasters to build from and tons of transport rides, mild rides, thrill rides, rollercoasters, water rides, shops and stalls, and every ride you could imagine! If you would like to build a theme park one day, this is for you.

Summary: crazy wakcy rides into a game = FUN
Review: this game is fun REAL FUN. at first you will need to find out all the controles...(that is not very hard and they are easy to remeber) all the rides are real fun to put into your park. when about 3 months of playing the game you will quit playing it. but then sometime about 1 year later you will feel likeing playing that game for no particular reason. then you will probably feel like putting your names of your rides as PUKE YOUR LUNG OUTS or something like that. WARNING: i think this makes you visitors throw up more...... anyways the game is real nice and fun. you will like the selecttion of rides there are. and you will stick to the game for quite awhile.then you will leave your old companion and go on your seperate paths one of you will go on a dusty old shelf (probably the game inless you are messed up and have mental problems and have been arested 7 times for insanic mass murder of 3 families and a school shooting) and you will probably go to on the other path to a opening of more games to play and buy.

Summary: Addicting
Review: This is a great game and remake of the original "Theme Park" made in the early 90's (?). It is so addicting and time consuming so make sure you've got plenty of time to waste before you sit down to play. (...) It's definitely a great game, although the graphics aren't quite up to snuff with today's technology, but you get over that. It definitely has challenges, too, so don't think you can just breeze through the scenarios. A definite buy for your family gamer.

Summary: Fun but Addictive
Review: Okay, so I'm normally not an addictive person. I don't spend hours online, I don't even own a TV, and I hate real-life roller coasters. This is the exception. Parks are fun to build, and building your own coasters is the best. TIP:Buy the add-on pack, Loopy Landscapes. It makes the game soooo much more fun (and I thought that wasn't possible).

Summary: Roller Coaster To Buy This Now!
Review: This is the very best simulation of building a thriving theme park! I have no idea who Chris Sawyer is, but he is sure good at programming to be able to make this game! This game has awesome graphics, easy gameplay and some features you have to try again and again. Now, why are you still reading this? Buy the game already!
