Summary: The best game ever
Review: It's been about 7 years since I played Stonekeep and it is still hands down the best game I've ever played. Nobody, not even Interplay, could come up with anything that compares to it. The graphics were amazing at the time, and the game completely draws you in. I regret using the hint book, but the game would have probably taken me a year without it. Interplay was supposed to make a sequel, but apparently decided not to because I've been looking for it ever since I stopped playing the first one. If you don't have this game, buy it now. Trust me.

Summary: The way a PC RPG should be!
Review: Stonekeep is an excellent RPG. Not many people have heard of this game, and I don't know why. The graphics are top notch (for a game designed during the time the game was released). The storyline is very well written. The magic system is done well. The combat system is not unique but done WELL! The ability to have other (computer controlled) charters to fight next to you is a nice feature. The puzzles make you think! The overall atmosphere draws you into the game.

The only flaws are the game is to short. In theory you can finish the game in a day. No replay ability (one ending). You might want to go back and look for hidden magic weapons you missed before, though. And you have to work a little to make it run on newer systems.

In the end this should be the standard as far on how a RPG should be made. You simply have to play this game!

Summary: Could Be Better
Review: Stonekeep is basically a DOS game run in protected mode in win95 & win98. During setup it will ask you what type of sound card, DMA, IRQ, etc. Make sure you know or want to deal with these when consider buying this game.
There are 22 levels on this game. Most people will probably able to complete 50% of the whole game. Beyond that you will need hints to continue further. The good news is that you can find web sites that will provide you free hints on this game. However even with the hints the later levels are difficult to play.
This game could be better. The background could be more vary. There are levels which could be boring because the game basically load with the same background with different colors.
There are also a few bugs on this game.

Summary: How cool this game is.
Review: Stonekeep is simply one of the best games I ever played. This labyrinth style game has got fantastic music and is rich with dragons, goblins and faeries. This game is able to stretch my imagination to the wildest. Stonekeep also has got so many secrets and it is not possible to get them all out. It also got very good graphic for a DOS game which did not utilise DirectX. I recommend this game to all teenagers or above.

Summary: save your money
Review: the title was a little forboding but if you look hard enough you can find a bundle package by interplay with close to 20 or 30 games for 25 bucks this one included as well as fallout 1 and redneck rampage i would suggest all of these games in the bundle and they are all fun but get more for your money is all i am saying

Summary: AWSOME GAME!
Review: This game is the best! Good engine, great graphics, and the best point and click item menu. Also the sound is incredible. You name it! A huge dungeon with maps you can take notes on, and quests will keep anyone busy for hours. The only reason I don't play this game anymore is because it was stolen.

Summary: Classic! Favorite all-time game!
Review: When I first got this game, back in 95 or so if I remember correctly, this was THE game to have -- but only for a short time because it was one of the first games that met standards still valid in todays gaming industry and shortly after, many new games came out that shadowed STONEKEEP. The graphics aren't all that impressive compared to todays hi-req standards, but they are still impressive and very entertaining. This is a very in-depth game that sucks you in -- the kind that makes the clock seem to skip an hour or two and turn the day to night without notice. I can't say enough about this game, it really does speak for Interplay's talents, even 6 or 7 years ago. The basic plot of the game is that of medeivel times with magic and battle. You have to find newer and better weapons, advance your character's stats by practicing with them, and collect THOUSANDS of items. I don't think I ever would have beaten this game without the hint-book, as this game is extraordinarily demanding on concentration and play-time. All time classic, I bought this back in 95 but the CD got scratched, so... I just ordered it again! And for [price], I don't feel a bit guilty for it. This was a $50.00 game when it came out and I never felt it got the publicity it rightfully deserves. Game comes with a pretty interesting book as well which explains much of the plot. I can't recommend a game more. Good luck!
