Summary: Quite enjoyable for its time
Review: Although not on my list of all-time favorites, Stonekeep was fun, with impressive graphics for its time, a solid interface, and good old gritty dungeon explorin'. I played about 2/3 of the way through it, and that's impressive, since I'm not the most patient player.

Summary: excellent game
Review: An interesting game style, storyline, and overall gameplay. I played this game a few years ago and still recall it as a good game. The graphics were good at the time and still are, the sound and sound track were well put together. Enjoyed many an hour and loss of sleep hackin' away at this little number. For the price now, I would definitely pick it up as part of your gaming warehouse.

Summary: Game is okay, but there's still a bug Interplay didn't fix.
Review: I agree with the user below, but as one of the earlier reviewers mentioned, this game has many bugs. Version 1.2 fixed many bugs, and you're able to get the clues from Wahooka if you don't foul up, plus Enigma doesn't prevent players from entering the Faerie Realm in that version. However, I have seen two problems that have been occuring. One problem is new in Version 1.2, the other has been there from day one and should have been fixed by Interplay long ago. The door to the gate in the Gate of the Ancients is supposed to be locked when you first arrive. Also, the very first group of shadow-skulls in the Palace of Shadows never appear.

Summary: The Perfect Balance
Review: I am here trying to find a game that measures up to Stonekeep! It is among the first couple of games that I ever played. Unfortunatly, that ruined me for much else. I have since bought over 20 games trying to find one that I enjoyed just as much! There are almost 20 levels, and though sometimes they get tedious, if you explore every wall, hall etc. thouroughly...you will enjoy the game much more! It is the perfect balance for a beginner, or advanced adventurer, with some battle/fighting, puzzle solving, comic relief, exploreing, magic, spells, etc. It had a little bit of everything and that's what made it great! There are a little bit of technical problems w/ a patch etc. because it's older, but it is definitly worth the trouble! As in anything though--the more expectations you start with, the more room you have too be disappointed. So just relax, don't think too much about it, and just have fun!!

Summary: Bad DOS, Bad DOS.........
Review: I found out very fast why I hate playing games that still have access to the DOS system. I have played quite a few games via DOS, and never really liked it because we had to keep loading DOS and then restarting computer, but you get the idea. This game, StoneKeep, I guess would be a good game if it wasn't misleading. It says that it works on Win 95, 98, 2000 and Win ME. Well, I don't really know as we have a new Gateway, and it doesn't really like playing DOS games. Either that, or after trying for an hour, I just gave up. But, if you enjoyed it, I'm glad that you were able to. I wasn't, but just wanted to let others know that this game is slightly misleading. If anyone cares to find out what other games that I have used, played, owned, feel free to contact me at:

Summary: Dull and Boreing
Review: I got this game and it was horrible. Every level seemed like it was the same, only good part was the neat movie at the beginning.

Summary: excellent game
Review: I have to say that I loved this game. You get to fight with many different weapons, you can cast spells, fight all kinds of creatures, and it is long and difficult enough to keep you busy for several months. Very entertaining.

Summary: Stonekeep
Review: I loved this game when it came out (which was around 6-7 years ago I think). I have wondered over the years if the same people were going to make any new games. Stonekeep had to be the best game I have ever played. It was exciting, you fight monsters, join up with dwarves, hear some nice rap music from some funky fairies (it's a complete hoot!). It was a great combination of real photography and animation. I have played a lot of games since then and none of them entertain you on as many different levels as Stonekeep did. I do wonder however how they got it to run smoothly on the newer pc systems. I had problems with it running on a gateway computer back then (had to make a low boot disk, ammend some system files, etc.) before I got it to run seamlessly. If you're only interested in hack-and-slash games then Stonekeep probably isn't for you. However if you like adventure, good character development, good special effects, singing ornery fairies (they look more like drunken street goblins), treasure, puzzles, a few good laughs and a great plot - than by all means don't pass this one up!

Summary: One of the BEST RPG Games...
Review: I purchased this game a while back and was immediatly hooked on it. Included in the game is a book that gives you something of a Prequel feel. This game makes you think, makes you wonder, and you wont want to stop. Everything from Might to Magic, and more. Start by fighting Ants, end by Fighting a God. And we cant forget Wahooka, the ever annoying (and ugly) king of the fairies. This game is a MUST have for ANY true gamers collection. The Box alone is worth the price. Anyways, if you havent played it yet, buy it, it's well worth it.
