Summary: Good, but nothing new
Review: I want to say right away that there is nothing wrong with this game. It has good graphics, intense gameplay, and enough diversity and strategy to last a while. My only problem with it is that there is very little that seems amazingly new to old fans of Age of Empires. Sure, there are mythological units, godly powers and there are more choices involved when advancing through ages. However, there's still a barracks, a stable, and an archery range. There is still a pikeman type unit, a champion unit, a skirmisher unit, an archer unit, a cavalry unit, the same "mangonel" stone thrower. There are still four ages. At least they have been renamed, but it's not much. Even the interface is the same. The buttons have new icons, but they are still in exactly the same layout. Frankly, half of the new features in AOM could have been in a new patch for AOE2.

So, I still recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played the AOE series a lot, but if you have, and you are looking for something different in the RTS genre, I would suggest something like Medieval - Total War, or Battle Reals. Both games are more innovative.
In the end, this whole genre is becoming old - there aren't that many ways to vary the "gather resources, build a base and army, and destroy your opponent" theme - while there are fewer and fewer new concepts, there are still some left, and I think that if you are an experienced RTS gamer, you should go for something different.

Summary: Awesome is all I can say
Review: Well this is the second computer game I have bought for my computer and after reading the reviews I figured I couldn't go wrong. Well this game lives up to everything great and wonderful you hear about. I mean the graphics are wonderful, the scenery is fantastic and the characters are unreal. I like the fact that you get to take as long as you want to build your village and army. I mean it is basically up to you when you finally decide to fight your opponent on the field. It's hours of fun and very very addictive, I had no idea it was 5am when I finally had to make myself go to bed haha! I mean you really get into the game it is awesome! I would highly recommend this game, the only flaw (which isn't really a flaw for some) it takes up a lot and I mean a lot of disc space so if you have a lot of disc space then ignore that but if you don't have that much then you may want to check out the details on this game before buying it because it does take up a lot. A friend of mine couldn't play on his computer because he didn't have enough. Other then that BUY THIS GAME it is awesome and I promise ... no regrets! Just give up your social life hahaha!!

Summary: 1 OF THE GREATEST GAMES EVER MADE!!
Review: I like most RTS and RPG games. This one is absolutely excellent!!
It has pretty much everything... campaign editor, online battles, chat room, cinematics, and each country has it's own campaign. It has 3 countries like Starcraft's 3 races Greek (Protoss strength), Egyptian (zerlike in strength and unit productian), and Norse (witch I haven't prsonally played but are neither really strong or really slow. However, if your a major Blizzard fanatic like myself, you will be surprised at the size of the units. The minotaur are as big as a protoss zealot. At least you can still tell the difference between them. Unfortunately the campaign editor isn't at all user friendly. Yet the god powers and Myth creatures make up for most of it. The "battle net" isn't that easy to use either. But if your desperate for a fight with another human, you can always get there with patience. The Myth units are amazingly powerful and have great appearances, the Leviathan, the Cyclops, the War Turtle, etc. All together this game RULES! However, if you want an easy game to beat, get something else, this is real strategy, not luck like some other games like Diablo which I fiercly detest. By the way, you may want to pick up the Strategy Guide as well, it'll help.

Summary: Hard Play
Review: I have had my AOM for one week now. Definetly addictive game play, good graphics. I had no problem loading the game.

I play Single Player/Random Map. The Easy setting is a piece of cake. Your enemies don't attack you, and from my AOE experience, I was able to defeat the Easy level, no problem.

Move up to medium, and I have no chance. The computer play is very tough, but I guess you wouldn't want it easy.

The graphics/playing characters are great, but smaller than I am used to.

Very satisfied with the game, I just wish I can find the proper computer level to compete at.

Summary: Let's clear up some things...
Review: 1. Even though the graphics look bad when you first enter the game, all you have to do is go to OPTIONS and make the screen size and graphic detail larger.

2. You can see and change all the hotkeys by going to options and clicking "edit hotkeys". By the way, there are hotkeys that change stances, too...

3. AOM has just as much depth as W3. It is not always about numbers. For example, an army of calvary doesn't have a chance against a line of infantry.

4. Processor speed is not always the problem to a slow game, it could also be memory and internet connection...

I do agree that the manual is pathetic, though. You need to buy the strategy guide ... in order to get some good tips.

Summary: Beautiful
Review: This game delivers the awesome gameplay that RTS players have come to expect from the age of series. This one features three races, each capable of following a divine allignment of their choice, and to create mythical creatures, heroes and regular soldiers. You can also summon acts of god. To pay for your mythical units, you must do different things for each race; pray, build and kill.

As for the graphics, the AOM team took the road to 3D with reasonable success. The graphics are pretty, and look especially spectacular when you have large forces battling each other on screen. The terrain and units are very detailed, and the animations are very impressive and fun to watch, making this very pleasing to the eye.

As for the campaign, the story keeps you fasinated with a story as good as the amazing one in Warcraft III.

Rounding up, I think that this game is well worth your purchase, and a worthy member of the Age of series.

Summary: Does not work!
Review: The previous Age of Empire games worked fine on my computer, but this one evidently won't because of my video card. This could have been avoided if the packaging had offered more details, but game companies these days would rather let the buyer not beware and then let them get stuck with trying to get their money back. Forget any help from their customer care, either!

Summary: Age Of Mythology delivers bigtime
Review: I wasn't sure at first. It looked like a microsoft version of warcraft 3. But it turned out to be a blast. It's textures are awesome and so is the gameplay. And the power of the gods, fun fun fun. It brings a new perspective to the age of empires series. I could see them even do a lord of the rings game, just like the starwars game. I'll buy it. Hope this helped your decision.

Summary: Good, but has some bugs
Review: I have had multiple problems with simply running Age of Mythology. With an ATI Radeon graphics card and a fairly fast computer, I have had numerous computer lock-ups. I will be in the middle of playing and the game will just freeze. Plus there are some graphical inconsistencies. The cursor doesn't always come in clearly. Also with 256 MB and a 1.2 processor, when running a 3 on 2 random map, the game is extremely slow.

This game could have gotten 5 stars, but due to the frustration of the bugs in the game it only deserves 3. Hopefully they will offer some patches soon to fix the problems.
