Review: I couldn't decide what to write first.

Thats how awesome this game is.

Out of my 10+ years of PC Gaming I've seen alot of games come and alot of games go. Out of all of them, GTA III is one of the best (if not the best) "Street Life/Hitman for Hire" games that I have ever played. (And I've played alot).

I don't know what to write first. The graphics, even by todays standards are still very good. Almost every aspect of game play has been perfected, and there is virtually no limit as to how many hours you can play this game. Considering that I never play the same game for more then a month or so, it has taken me about 5 months of on and off play to complete the story to this masterpiece. After completeing the game I viewed the "Statistics" and it said the game was only 46% done. That is because there are so many sub-missions throughout the game.

I think it would be fair to match the amount of missions in this game to the amount of tasks to complete in the game "Black & White". There are ALOT.

As far as actual gameplay goes; it is completely action packed, but not without realism. Each car in the game has their own handling characteristics. Each gun has its own pros and cons. You get a real sence how it feels to graduate from being a street thug for hire to a known and feared hitman - or "part of the family" (In the Mafia).

The nice thing about this game is that it doesn't focus on just one sect of organized crime. You'll encounter everything from the Jamaican "possie" to Columbian drug dealers, to lower level street gangs, to the well organized sydicate of China Town, even the Italian Mafia seems to be well active in Liberty City.

The sound in the game, is like everything else, supurb. With a good selection of radio stations, you'll be jamming to the beat all throughout the game! They even have a special radio station for your own MP3's!

Yeah, this game is...awesome

The Good: Supurb Sound and Visual Affects; Never ending gameplay; diverse missions.

The Bad: No Multiplay; some clipping.

The Ugly (Bottom Line): This game is one of the best. Anyone who rates this less then a five star game is wack.

Summary: Drawing the Line
Review: While GTA3 is rated mature, it is a popular item on adolescents' Christmas lists. As a teacher, I am particularly concerned with the messages games send to our children. This video game positively portrays violence against women.

Many have already spoken out against this game, yet few have heard about its destructive message. One scene implies sex with a prostitute while showing the character increasing points as the car bounces. In the next scene, the character beats up/kills the prostitute, again for an increase in points. While the prostitute does come back to life, the message is that certain women in our society are valueless and that violence doesn't do lasting damage. The violence aimed towards a specific group in this video game is what sets it apart from other bloody video games. It is the attitude towards women as a commodity and a recipient of beatings that makes the violence in this game wrong and worrisome.

As deceptively destructive as the message in this game is, why support it? There are plenty of other great games on the market that can compete with this one. Spend your money wisely. "The most violent element in society is ignorance."

Summary: One of the best PC games ever...
Review: I've played a lot of computer games over the years, but this one has held my attention longer than any other. I've literally been playing this game for many months. While the content is undoubtedly violent, graphic, and ill-suited for young people, the captivating storyline of the game and its fantastic interface will keep you playing. If you have a relatively up-to-date PC(you will need the power), get this game. You are virtually guaranteed to totally enjoy this title!

Summary: What a really great game
Review: What can I say. The game speaks for itself. This game goes beyond any other game I've ever played before. Although the graphics aren't that good the gameplay and story (wait what story) is awesome. The game is so cool because you have free reign. You can run around, drive cars... The game is really inventive. And I can't wait for the fourth one.
Bottom Line: GTA3 Steals the Show

Summary: Where's The Plot?
Review: I know there is a lot of hype for this game. The new GTAIII Vice City is supposed to be another hit with newer cars and things of that nature. But Aside from all the killing and blowing up stuff, is there really anything else that captures the immagination in this game? I've seen friends play this over and over again saying how great it is. So I get it and play it. After 20 min of missions of killing things and blowing stuff up with practically no sense of purpose and any form of variety in the missions, I had to uninstall this game. Its horrible!!! If you love games where its mindless killing (filled with great codes I should add), then go for it. But If you need a plot with an actual challenge that stimulates the mind, then you might want to go another route.

Summary: GTA III for PC
Review: Hey,

You can play the the mission with way better graphics than the console game gives you. You get to put in your own MP3s, so you can run a muck in the city to Beethoven, Notorious BIG, or Zepplin. What more can you ask for???

Well how about some new skins for your charachter and the cars?? They are available if you know where to look. (Belive me it's not hard to find)

Now when I started playing this, I thought to myself, no way do I want to play this with a keyboard. But low and behold I never got a chance to find the right gamepad for me.(I'm difficult that way) So I ended up passing the game with the keyboard and belive me for most of the game my fingers got use to the positions and I was able to do some slick moves.

Now you want to make sure that your PC can handle this game so read the requirements. I am way above the recommended one so I am a little biased. My game play was smooth!

Anyway, my rating is "all good".

If your thinking about getting it, stop thinking and purchase it.

Summary: My current favorite game
Review: I resisted getting GTAIII for a long time. Now I'm hooked. Gameplay is very smooth. I don't see problems with loading textures or any of that, but I have a very high end graphics card. I really like that you can stuff MP3s into a directory and play them on the MP3 radio station. I like that you can customise the controls. My complaints would be that you can't set it up with you joystick, so you are stuck with right left and straight, as opposed to turning the wheel a little right or all the way right. Steer with the handbrake. It takes a while to get to the other islands. I guess it'll force me to drive in unfamiliar turf and all, but I want to just visit over there.

Buying the strategy guide would be a good idea, but you can probably find most of the hints on-line. The maps are useful, and the guide clues you in to the value of the off-plot missions. You get access to power-ups at your base for collecting packages, killing criminals, putting out fires and all that stuff.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A truly brilliant game
Review: The single best facet of this game is that you can go anywhere and do anything. Want to play cabbie? Just jack a taxi and start carting passengers around (On a side note, the taxis are the most fun to drive). Want to drive around causing general mayhem? You an do that too. There are so many opportunities to make money or have some hilarious fun. Another really cool thing is the mp3 player. For once I get to choose the music! A definite must buy for anyone.
