Review: High heat baseball games are really good arcade style games. the game is fun when playing multiplayer than it is with single player.

Even though this came has really annoying things in it, it still is fun when played with other, and it also is cheaper than other baseball games out their.

Summary: And I thought the past versions were inadequate
Review: High Heat has never been a great graphics game. I'm assuming after this year's effort, it never will.This years offering is buggier than ever. In the HR Derby, upon hitting a HR, the background images begin a spazmatic convulsion
as if demon possessed. The box states its XP compatible; however, none of their other titles are. Yet, this is not an XP issue. I can play it; assuming I dont mind seeing the stadium metamorphesize before my eyes, and then have lights flickering in teh background the rest of the game. One could assume there is some type of issue on my system. However, a friend bought a copy the same day I bought mine. Runing a lesser graphics card did not help. Windows 98 SE did not help, as it did the same on his computer. There are no patches that I know of; at least none on their website. I have tried everything, and still cannot fix this. On the plus side: the stadiums (when not on hallucentegetic drugs) look better than ever. With teh ti4600, the uniforms offer nice detail. Unfortunately, however, the faces are still generic. This was unforgiveable in 2000, its even more unforgiveable today. IF for some reason, you STILL desire to purchase this game, may I offer this as a suggestion for the path: C:\3DO\Hi Disappointment 2003

Review: I am a long time fan of High Heat and have bought every year's version. This was not a pc game but a poorly executed console port. If I wanted to play a console game, I would have bought the console version. But, to get a console version that plays on the computer, well, is insulting. As others have written, there is no mouse support. I could live with that, if the interface was easy to use. This interface attempts to be cool, which only leads it to being difficult and not at all intuitive.
Often you get to a place and have no idea how to do what you want. The help key is not very helpful, either. Without a mouse, it is hard to find what you want, or to get out of the wrong place, that you will find yourself often. I felt insulted by this game.
I should have listened to the reviews that downgraded the game. I actually found the play at times fun, but the game crashed 2x out of 3 games. Not good. That it crashed during the only enjoyable game I had, well, was not reasuring. The addition of new pitch types was a good change. The circles to assist fielding are WAY to large and intrusive. The game often required six or more imputs to get it to accept the pitch selection. (Yes, my sidewinder was calibrated, and works fine with other games.) This totally interrupts the flow of the game, and is very frustrating. The player graphics look like they were taken from an arcade game and not as realistic as some past versions. Some of the animations are really entertaining.
Overall, I was very disappointed. Getting a console game, wrapped in a pc package to me is unethical. The menus are flat out awful. If you want a console game to play on a pc, well, this is fair. As a pc game, it is poor.

Summary: can not run the game in win XP
Review: I am so sorry that I can not play the game. Because my PC keeps freezing, crashing or just reboote whil playing the game.
The game it self is very fun to play. I really love it. But there is nobody there to help me out with the game.
I even bought a upgrate RAM, I paid $16.95 to the online XP people to help me out. I wrote the 3DO people a doxen times. At first they replied. But as I still was not able to play the game, they stopped replying for my cries of help. As the 30-day period has past, I could not return the game or ask for a new one. So I am stuck with the game. What I do now is after each inning I "save and quit" the game. because it crashes maybe after one inning,two innings or maybe even three innings. It is a real real pitty, I love to play it, but it is just to much...

Summary: Gonna Buy it without reading a thing
Review: I bought High Heat Baseball 2002 and I was blown away with how great it was. The graphics, and the realism of the game play are way beyond any baseball game on the market. I haven't seen much on High Heat 2003, but that sure (...) doesn't matter. I'm gonna order this game before I read any reviews, see any screen shots, or talk to any of my friends. If it's even CLOSE to as good as 2002 is, I gotta have it. This is a game that your not taking a chance on, it's a guaranteed winner.

Summary: Don't be fooled
Review: I bought the High Heat 2002 game and was reasonably satisfied. I played it on Win 98 and had a few problems, but nothing that took away from the experience of the game. This year's 2003 offering is even WORSE than last year's! I'm using XP and 3DO must have not put any effort into testing or troubleshooting the game with XP. There are several major bugs that cause stuttering audio, random (and excessive) program crashes, and game play problems. Try to draft a team? Good luck, you'll wind with some people you didn't select, replacing guys you did and have no idea where they went. Expect a patch? Good luck! 3DO issued 1 patch for HH2002 and it looked like they were aggressively persuing further patches to upgrade the product. Instead, they gave up and let the customers suffer with the program. This year, they look like they're not even bothering with 1 patch! The company puts a sub-standard product in stores, dares people to purchase it and doesn't stand behind it at all. Don't waste your money, you'll be disappointed. Bryan M.

Summary: A great game with no bugs in career mode (so far)
Review: I got this game on release date (3/13/2002) and I am VERY pleased with it. The bugs that usaully plauged me on the previous versions have not reared their ugly heads (yet?).
The game play is great and the seasons computer very quickly.
I play in career mode on MVP and it is very challenging. I notice it is easier to strike out the computer players than in previous versions but this is a GOOD thing and it is by no means excessive but more realistic. Regarding some reviews I have read citing bugs in Home Run Derby I can't comment since I do not play Home Run Derby. The rosters are very good with all the rookies expected to make the majors included. This game rules if you are into a realistic baseball games that has great playabilty.

Summary: Can't get enough of this game
Review: I have played at least one game a day since the day after it hit the store shelves. Great Fun! There are improvements that needed to be made in the graphics, most notably the backgrounds around the stadiums, but overall the game looks good enough. The real test comes when you examine the gameplay- it passes the test with flying colors. If you need a game to look like the latest super XBox video test, you don't need to look at this game. If you care more about how the addictiveness of baseball can be traslated into a PC game, step into the batter's box and take a couple of swings. Wonderful, excellent, fun game. Certainly not perfect (would get five stars) but it has really hit the mark on the things that I think are most important in a baseball game.

Summary: My wife hates it!
Review: I love this game! I love the fact that there is a Hall of Fame for the great players in the Career Mode to entire after they retire. I love the fact that everything is editable, from creating players to editing players (although the stats are right on). I love how smoothly the CPU-General Manager works with you to make trades go down fairly. Flat out, I love this game so much. My only quarrel? Why oh WHY doesn't this game work on Windows 2000?! I hate Windows ME! I hate it! It is the worst thing ever! But, I love High Heat 2003, so I'm stuck. I'm just waiting for years from now when I get sick of High Heat so I can put Windows 2000 back on my machine.
