Summary: A Well-Priced Expansion with Excellent Features!
Review: Rush Hour is a valuable and desperately needed addition to SimCity 4. Admittedly, many of the additional transportation features should have been included in the original SimCity 4, but despite this fact the new additions are still very welcome. The new ability to jump into certain vehicles and take control is a fun distraction, as well as a great way to make some spare money, though with certain aircraft it's very difficult to judge your height above buildings, particularly when in helicopters.

The best new feature, however, is the ability to see EXACTLY where your Sims are going, where they're leaving from, and the routes they take. This makes it infinitely easier to construct your mass-transit facilities and open up congested areas on your transport network. The new options for roads, elevated trains, and even monorails are also superb. One note, however, is that is is rather difficult to lay down elevated track that curves; you need to be sure to hold down the shift key when laying track in order to make a curve, or else you will be forever frustrated.

Finally, the incredibly low cost of this add-on alone makes it worthwhile, even though it is, at it's core, just adding functionality that should've come with SimCity 4 out of the box.

Summary: Nice addition- makes a great game even better
Review: Sim City is one of the most addictive games I've ever played, and it neer seems to grow old. Rush Hour makes it better in some obvious ways and in other, more subtle ways (like better performance and neat little surprises). Buy it while they have the rebate and it'll be well worth it.

Summary: SimCity 4--Great FUN (A Lot Of Fun)!!!
Review: SimCity 4 Rush Hour Expansion Pack is an exceptional additon to SimCity 4. The Expansion Pack makes the game more detailed and more fun to play. Numerous modes of transportation is included giving the choice of a monorail, ferry, ground level highways, and other choices. You can see how the traffic flows in the morning and evening rush, and you can see how your sims are getting around with the transportation query tool. You can choose where your sims will work and what car they drive, if you want them to drive. Other features include the capabilities of driving a car, a bus, flying a helicopter, and other types of vehicles, as well. It is a big step forward from prior gaming experience with SimCity 4 and SimCity 3000 Unlimited. There is so much to build and create in this game when building your own city, and this game afford so much opportunity to do more.

Maxis has done a wonderful job at developing the Expansion Pack. It has made playing SimCity 4 much more user friendly and more interesting. Anyone who has played any version of SimCity will really like this one. I highly recommend this game for anyone who loves a challenge of building a city and having control of it.

Joy.

Summary: The latest in the SimCity family line
Review: SimCity 4 Rush Hour makes the addictive SimCity 4 even harder to walk away from. I've been a SC junkie for nearly ten years now, and this game is truly a breath of life into my city like none other. The depth of cities has been held a little repetitive in the transportation department since SimCity 2000, and Rush Hour just expands it in ways I never thought possible. The U-Drive-It missions maintain the isometric looking-down view of The Sims while capturing the city exploration aspect of Streets of SimCity. This game is one of the best things that has ever happened to SimCity; no SC4 owner should be without it.

Summary: They will gladly take your money...again.
Review: Since the makers of the original SimCity 4 never actually fully patched that version, they tell you to buy Rush Hour to solve the issues existing with that main version. Throwing in a few additions that could have been made available for download, you must buy this expansion in order for the game to even work with ANY future elements they may provide. Newer building tools or the rare new structure will simply not work with the stand alone version.
But the "situation" even goes much deeper than that-
Problems were not only not fixed, but were actually HIDDEN by the game designers. Observant players of the original SC4 would notice cars driving in circles or driving a highway, leaving and re-entering it at each exit! With Rush Hour, they merely lowered the amount of time automobiles would be displayed so players would think there are no problems. Very sneaky Maxis! Many gamers are none the wiser. It is truly amazing the game developers could get away with such practices... and laugh all the way to the bank.

Summary: What Simcity 4 brings on?
Review: Surfing the Net, I see that Maxis is now preparing to launch Simcity 4: Rush Hour Expansion Pack. I wonder what Maxis bring on with an expansion of a Game {Simcity 4}, if only the game without expansions to add-on Simcity 4 is whole fun and enjoyable?
I am giving 4 stars not for the Expansion because still yet not have been published, but the expactations that Expansion Pack is going to add to the Game itself.

Summary: Worth every dime, every late night spent playing...
Review: The Rush Hour expansion pack defines the future of simulation games. No longer must we be content to sit back and watch our city grow. Now we can build vast regional networks, through new highway options and even monorail. I never realized ground highways were missing until I saw them here. There are still very challenging items to tackle. It used to be bus stops were impossible; now it's parking garages. Traffic has become a bit of a nightmare, and we now get to see every flaming car wreck. We get new feedback on our traffic with the query button. I think the best additions have been the ferries and monorail. I just used both to build a city of 80,000 in 16 years. I didn't even know that was possible! There is still room for improvement, and I look forward to the next installment in this excellent series. We still have to make our own traffic circles, and there are no community centers, Ys, or public pools. There isn't much lacking and certainly nothing that should keep a SimCity fan from purchasing the Rush Hour expansion pack today. It's addicting and wonderfully fun!

Summary: Corrects many of the mistakes of the original Simcity 4!
Review: The Simcity 4 game had several mistakes that I felt kind of stymied the game a bit. The first was, where are the avenues (four lane divided roads) because I mean, You can't just build a New York CIty on just mere two lane streets or roads. Another thing was the subways and transportation system which often sat neglected and unused even on highly congested intersections.

This Expansion Pack corrects many of those mistakes that were on the older version of SC 4. Not only that, but there are a whole truckload of new stuff that comes iwth this expansion. Many of them are just amazing.

You can now building wide avenues with medians! Why could'ne one be able to build Cicero Ave. or North Ave. on the older one? You can now do all that on this newest expansion pack. You can also choose between either the ground freeway (Think the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago), or an elevated freeway (Think the Tri-State Tollway in Chicago as well) and you can even add pay tolls if you're in dire need of some extra simoleons! One of hte greatest blessings too is that you can build safe interchanges where freeways terminate or transition into avenues. That was a major problem with the older SC 4 game where I found a freeway I built dangling with a cliffhanging ending where it looked like cars had to be lifted by cranes to get on and crash in fireballs when driving off the edge. Basically, the freeway terminals looked more like daredevil stunts waiting to happen. That is no more on the Simcity 4 Rush HOur Expansion Pack!

Other things in included are monorail for better transportaion, elevated rail, elevated rail to subway, larger civic buildings. You also get new disasters, new music and a much better scope on the already HUGE Simcity 4 world. There is one new song in particular which is absolutely haunting and so breathtaking that it almost deserves to be released on CD to listen to on a CD-Player or headphones! Amazing!

This game requires the older Simcity 4 game so it's safe to say that this is no cash-in on buyers unlike what they do with movies or CDs (X-Men 1.5 was a big cash-in joke) and in fact was a very smart move on Maxis' part. THere are still some flaws on the newer edition that perhaps a second Expansion Pack may correct in the future but for now "Rush Hour" is an absolute blessing on my part because it fixes so many of the problems that plagued Simcity 4. Please buy this if you already have the original game. This will make the game feel so much more realistic, and almost completely different altogether in a really spellbinding way! You will not be dissapointed!
