Summary: Madden nfl 2003 PC version
Review: A horrible version of Madden 2003 converted to the PC platform. I bought the game two weeks ago, and I get an error message ~75% of the time I try to start it. "application has performed an illegal operation...." you know the one.
DON'T BUY THE PC VERSION! PRESERVE YOUR SANITY! EA really needs to put out more quality products.

Summary: The King Of Sports
Review: Although for me Madden NFL 2002 (for the PC as i'm mainly a PC gamer) was a bit of a dissapointment due to the countless "unreal" and absolutely aggravating plays, I have to admit Madden 2003 for the PC is simply amazing. I purchased it along with my friends PS2 version and I've played both. They are both exactly the same except that the PC one has 10 times better graphics, for obvious reasons. I'm running it on an Athlon XP 1800+ with a GeForce4 Ti 4400 (love nvidia products). If you're more than 5 feet away from the monitor, you'd honestly think there's a real football game on TV. Aside from the graphics, the game itself, the gameplay, is fantastic. Never have I got so much "real" feel for football. I love running the ball using the jukes. You can actually find the seams and juke accordingly. I love it. This is a MUST BUY for all sports fans, especially football fans. 4.5/5 stars due to some flaws, mainly dealing with commentary.
Updated 02/18/03:
While the single player game of Madden 2003 is nearly flawless, its multiplayer aspect is less than adequate. By no means does an online game represent the skill level of each player. Why do I think this? There is too much lag. You press "right" on your gamepad, it takes a second (literally) to respond. This makes the game VERY frustrating while playing online, especially with pass coverage. Expect your opponents to keep throwing it deep while your secondary is helpless partly because of lag (i.e. you don't know where you're going) and secondly because the game itself doesn't focus too much on secondary defense (i.e. receivers catch a good percentage of deep balls, even when double/triple covered). It almost seems like a wide screen monitor is required to play because you can't even see the receivers lined up on the far left and right sides. Hence, they can toss it to them and it's difficult to adjust. EA asking us to pay for this service is ridiculous. If I had played all my opponents on ONE screen (i.e. 2 controllers, 1 computer), i'm certain my winning percentage would be much more realistic.

Summary: The Madden Legacy Continues
Review: Every year, Madden keeps getting better and better.
I currently own Madden '99 and Madden 2001. Madden 2003 is going to
be well worth the cost of [$$$] because we're finally getting the tweaks that
people who own a PS2 get. Add that to the always great graphics and sound and they
overall gameplay, and you have the Holy Grail of NFL football games... I hope that EA is also in the works to make a
NCAA football game for the PC. Madden 2003 looks like you are sitting at home watching the game on TV.
Can't wait till August 20th. At least then I'll have something to satisfy me till the start of College Football and NFL season.

Summary: Madden NFL 2003
Review: Excellent game. I have an old PC,(Pentium II, 196K RAM, 333Mhtz), and all I did was upgrade the Video Board to Radeon 8500LE. Runs fine.

Summary: Fabulous game if you can install it.
Review: First, I have to say this game is absolutely fabulous looking and plays great. I have a 800mhz Amd Duron, with a 32mb geforce2 GTS and a logitech wingman gamepad. The game played just great, do not have any stutters or freezes. I did deduct 1 star because when I got the game and went to install it, I got a message stating that the launch.exe file was missing. I found the solution on the EA sports technical support website, after I exchanged the game thinking there was a problem with the disk. If you run into this problem, you need to copy the contents of the disk into a new folder and run the setup from the new folder. You would think that EA would have tested this before they sold the game. Otherwise, I think this game is amazingly realistic. Stop reading this and go get it!

Summary: Seems Like a Beta Version
Review: Frequent lock-ups and total system crashes. This is the only (retail) software that I've experienced these problems with since the days of DOS. When it is running there are quite a few details that give the impression it is a beta version that was never completely finished before hitting the shelves.

EA tech support operates under the "no not us, somebody else" method of problem solution.

Summary: System Compatible?
Review: Great game! Well sort of. It is a lot of fun to play and pretty realistic with good graphics and good sound. Unfortunately, my system exceeds the requirements by yards and yet it is still not working properly. The game terminates itself within the first quarter with no explanation. EA's Tech support cannot find the problem and several people have taken a look at it to try to help. Simply stated, could be a great game if it only worked like it is supposed to. We need some competition for this game!!

Summary: Great Game, Awesome Graphics
Review: Great game. Installed flawlessly, and I've never had any problems with it. I'm running it at 1280x1024, 32-bit color, and all of the details at the highest setting, and motion is smooth and the graphics are stunning. You can zoom in on the ball during an instant replay and see the leather grain details.

Game play is very challenging, but this is what I perfer. Its more realistic than beating the computer 50-0 every time, like some other games. So far I have a loosing record against the computer, so when I do pull off a win it is more of an accomplishment.

The only thing that is missing is some sort of play editor where you can create your own plays.

Summary: Not Madden's Best
Review: I am a loyal Madden fan. I've bought every game since his second one for the Apple IIc. This version is ok. The player graphics are better, but the stadium and field graphics lack. The grass is just a green color, there is nothing to show grass. Unless I am missing something, the same stadium appears for every team and the weather never changes. The Menus leave something to be desired. I am definately disappointed in the PC version of this game.
