Summary: DAMNFANTASTIC Game!
Review: Okay, I might only have the demo, but I'm stuck on it!
In MP, you get bullet time, which is a cool function.Whenever you press the right mouse key, Max's world and himself slows down and you can see the bullets better.
The game also has lots of realistic BLOOD and profanity, which puts a little spice in the game.
Plus, it is one of few games that features more than one developer company. You have Godgames (Serious Sam),Rockstar (Grand Theft Auto series, True Crimes, and Manhunt), and two others (which I never heard of), 3D Realms and Remedy.

The story talks about a veteran police officer who one day went back to his house which was ransacked by mobsters, leaving his wife and child DEAD!
Broken hearted, he sets off to stop a drug from spreading to the world.

So, mow many lawns, beg your parents, and OH HELL, do whatever you can to get Max Payne because, like my essay's title, it's a
"DAMFANTASTIC GAME"!
I'll try hard myself to get the game!

Peace Out!

Summary: Fun but a little limited...
Review: Yeah, I know, I'm 3 years behind the curve here, but I've finally gotten around to loading the Max Payne CD I've had sitting around forever.

There's lots to like about this game; the cutscenes (which I usually hate) are in an entertaining graphic novel format that's well done & you can skip it if you're replaying after being killed. The voice acting is much better than most games. I love a number of the details such as the guy who was about to receive oral gratification from a hooker when Max barges in, shooting at you with his pants around his ankles. I laughed out loud at that & other similar details. The bullet time feature is especially helpful when you're faced with groups of bad guys, & the environment is probably the grittiest I've ever seen in a video game. The fact that Max pops pills to keep going is also a nice touch; no health packs laying around in corners in this game!

What I don't like are the linear aspects of this game. When walking down a street or a corridor, there may be 4 doors visible, but only 1 will open. There's no opportunity to explore your environment, & no curves; everything is square or rectangular. The gameplay of Max Payne is a shooter at it's most mindless; there are no choices other than which weapon you'll blow people away with & whether you'll do it in bullet time. Considering that Max Payne was released after Deus Ex & No One Lives Forever, with their fully realized worlds & multiple choices in strategy makes the developers simple-mindedness a little disappointing.

If Max Payne had the depth & variety of Deus Ex, it would rank as one of the best games ever made. Instead, it's simply a fun & inventive shooter.

Summary: One of Rockstars finest
Review: Rockstars popularity peaked in the 2001 year, one of their great 2001 games was Max Payne, even though not the best graphical game but this is Rockstar, they focus on the fun and action of the game, graphics isn't everything. Max Payne took 4 years to create and it's obvious why, this game takes a while to beat. This is one out of few games where the story is focused on so much. I have never seen a game go so deep in story. Max Payne a man with nothing to lose, made by a company that never loses.

Summary: This Game Is Awesome!!!!
Review: A few years back when I bought this game, I was blown by everything---you name it--the graphics, the plot, the gameplay, the chilling but never the less suspenseful music! Seriously, when you install and play this game, it's like something you have never experienced before!

The "Bullet-Time" feature is such a great feature when you want to outsmart your enemies with slow-motion attempt to kill! This game is like the movies! Some very awesome things happen in this game, like really loud tires screeching, echoing in the midst of a parking tunnel, or, a large steel bridge collapsing. The best though is when you kill your enemy and watch him get knocked out in slow motion!

The plot is so unbelieveably great, that whoever wrote the plot has to be very, very skilled at writing. Like I said, it's like a movie mixed in with a novel!

The weaponry could not be better. Each weapon is so powerful and action-packed, that you can feel your hand shake each time you fire.

You seriously do not want to miss out on this one. The game is adapted to a variety of computers. The game has a powerful plot, movie-like gameplay--and I MEAN MOVIE-LIKE, graphics are exceptionally spectacular for such minimum-level requirements.

I tell you right now, this game is WORTH YOUR $$$, and I tell you right now, you will never ever forget this game!

Summary: Repetitive and overrated
Review: Max Payne has been dubbed as revolutionary and innovative by video game critics and fans alike, but guess what? It's neither. When I first played this game, I was drawn in by the graphics, which is one of the few things I like about this game. The story is pretty confusing and uninteresting, and was illustrated in a hard-on-the-eyes comic-book style, where it was layed out in frames and word bubbles and drawn in an unusual fashion. The main drawback of this game is how repetitive it gets. This is the general flow of this game:

Go into a room. Do some bullet time. Kill some guys. Repeat.
MAYBE a cutscene.

Boring? Yep. Repetitive? Yep. Revolutionary? Nope. I barely got halfway through the game before getting tired of the grind of Max Payne, but I heard jumping off the twin towers and trying to hit parked cars is fun, but I never got that far into the game. If you like first-person shooters, stick with Half-Life or Battlefield 1942, or even Halo. This game is overrated as hell, and bored me to tears. Go home Max Payne.

Summary: one of the greatest games i have ever played
Review: So if you have't gotten this game yet get it now. It does have certain drawbacks the game is realativly short and the acting just BAD.

Any and all short commings are made up by the great gameplay and a new concept BULLET TIME probably the coolest thing to come out in the last five years, with the exception of Max Payne 2.

Overall-The moral of this story is don't try to kill this guy you will just piss him off.
