Summary: great game great graphics and ok story
Review: Man i love this game the graphics are great and you don't need a state of the art computer like this one guy said. I have a p2 350mhz 128mb ram and a geforce 4 mx440 and an old sound blaster. The game runs as smooth as silk with the medium graphics plus i'm only basing this on the demo but i'm going to buy the full game soon and if any of you watch x-play on tech-tv do not waste money on enter the matrix go buy max payne graphics are better, better story line, and way better gameplay. And so many mods. Please buy max payne or download the demo. Klik.

Summary: One of the great games of our times
Review: Max payne is the riveting tale of a man broken by the violence that he ironically fights against as a police officer. After his wife and baby are killed in their home, max payne sets out on a path of revenge to lay to rest the ghosts of his loved ones. Max payne has some of the most intense action of any video game I've ever played. The amazing slow motion bullet time adds the ability to aim more accurately and avoid incoming bullets. It is truly a site to see when bullets rush by your head as you dive sideways, guns blazing from a doorway. The only down side is that max payne should only be witnessed on either an xbox, or better yet, a high end pc. This game is amazing; graphically, gameplay wise, and story wise, max payne stands head and shoulders above the rest.

Summary: Payne to the Max!
Review: Two words that simply make this game worth playing: Bullet-time!

I really enjoyed Max Payne. I like games where I have to think by preference, but this was just too much fun even though the body-count ends up like something from a Terminator movie. Basically, you're just waltzing in, "Playing it Bogart" and pumping the baddies full of bullets, some of which are Full Metal Jacketed. It's nice that they took such things into account and the effects of your gun-blazing are seen with more detail to your environment than the baddies.

The developers were extremely detailed with environment in this beautiful game. It's really eye-candy and I honestly enjoyed the script: it's funny in parts and wonderfully descriptive in its brevity. The writers did a great job setting the mood. Comic and noir lovers will be especially pleased as it is above all artful.

Also, knowing a thing or two about guns and ammo, this game does a fair job keeping with the traits of the various weapons that you'll use in regards to rate of fire, kick and penetration. Stopping power is sometimes a foriegn concept, though because as the game progresses some of the baddies you'll face are just inhumanely robust. That was mildly annoying, but keeps it challenging when Max can use Bullet-time to knock them off with ease. The odds at some points are so incredibly against Max that when you do manage to kill all the baddies in a room, the cinematic effect of watching the bad-guy fall is a nice bonus. It's a tough game in some parts.

It is a little on the short side, but I was ready for the end when I got to it because it's mostly mindless gun-fighting in close quarters. Still, it's fun and there are 4 different skill levels to play, so it does have replayability. There is a big difference in difficulty from the Fugative level to the Hard Boiled. I haven't played Dead on Arrival yet or the New York Minute, but I plan to when I just want to have some fun and get freaky with the shot-dodging.

Highly recommended. The first thing I said, out loud, when I played this and flew through the air in slow mo was, "Ohmygod, this is so wicked cool!" 'Nuff said.

Summary: A good, solid game
Review: Just buy it. You'll be satisfied- trust me. It only took me a week or so to complete, and the story line was pathetic, but the graphics, sound and bullet time are all worth it. Plus, its pretty hard. You get a wide variety of guns, not to mention (my favorite) a Molotov coctail. A played this game with two of my friends and from then on it was the topic of our discussions for like a week after we finished. Trust me, its totally worth it.

Summary: noir noir noir
Review: This is my favorite computer game of all time. This game is all about pure, amazing mood. It's perfect, and I disagree that it's too short. There are three parts with about 7 levels to each part. Running this game on piece of s computer is not a good idea, though. I would recommend 512 MB of ram and a graphics card with at least 64MB of ram. Before upgrading, these were my specs along with a 2.0 Ghz P4 and the game would run with the highest graphics setting, but on the edge of choppyness. Now with a gig of RDRAM and a ATI 9800 Pro 128MB the game is simply amazing looking. Please do yourself a favor and play this game.

Summary: Stop Complaining!!!
Review: I have noticed that some of you here have been stating the playstation/x-box versions are better. If you really think so, why don't the lot of you who said that go out and buy yourself a playstation/x box, and stop letting the world know it sucks on pc. IT DOES NOT suck on pc. on the PC version, if you need a patch, you can download it directly off the internet. On the playstation versions/x box, your SOL. This game rocks! NOTHING comes close!

Summary: Completly Awesome!!!
Review: I'll admit i was hesatent at first to play this game, but once I started, I couldn't stop. This game is awesome. I will say though a downfall is the length,(it's a bit short), but it ends perfectly enough to make up for that. The graphics are great, the speed is fine... Very Fun. Storylines a bit morbid, but control and everything else is amazing. I would highly recommend getting this.

Summary: Get this game!
Review: I got this game and I couldn't stop playing it for days! The story takes place like a graphic novel, which is a cool twist, but you get to play the action parts. The graphics are really nothing to get excited about, but the bullet time action makes the game 100 times more fun than any other 3D shooter. Not only that, the selection of weapons you have to choose from is so cool. I love this game.

Summary: One of the top 10 PC games of all-time.
Review: Released in December 2001 for the PC and later for the PS-2, Max Payne captivated gamers with its jawdropping bullet-time feature, dark and engrossing story and over the top action. Even now I still have a blast playing it. The graphic-novel sequences were suprisingly good and well made and to boot the voice acting was not all that bad either. The game has great sound, amazing graphics, immersive plot and awesome weapons (Colt Commando Rox) If you have not had the sheer pleasure of sitting down in front of your computer for several hours playing this tight game, I highly recommend you purchase Max Payne as soon as possible (Max Payne 2 should come out some time in summer 2003)
