Summary: System Shock 2
Review: This game is by far the BEST shooter that I have ever played. Unlike most games of this genere, SS2 makes you learn skills that are neccessary in order to get through the game hopefully in one piece. SS2 really sucks you in, and at times, scares the hell out of you.

Summary: Good stuff
Review: This game is the first I have played that attempts to combine the fast-paced 1st person shooter with the character building and inventory control of an RPG. I like.

I hope this game is a forerunner of more games melding the exileration of putting the bad guy in your crosshairs and squeezing off a few rounds with the cerebral mind candy of skill allocation and inventory control.

A few things that shocked me when I played this game: I couldn't carry every weapon in the game. The inventory system is set up beautifully, no longer can a player (unrealisticly) carry every new weapon they come across. The shear bulk of weapons and ammunition force decisions of what to keep and what to throw away. Also stuff breaks, just like in the real world.

I would have liked to have seen a little more creativity go into level design (many of the levels felt like every Doom, Quake, Unreal, and Half-Life level ever made) and NPC development lags to the point of predictability but all in all System Shock 2 is well worth the relative pocket change it is being sold for.

Summary: SS2? Bargain Bin?
Review: As a justice to this game, I am now going to try to get you to buy it and experience the wonder ... This game is the result of the genius of the folks behind Thief, and I would have to say that it is the most immersing game ever. To play it is to feel, to be, and to know the horrible fate of the Von Braun. From the exciting action of one floor to the white knuckle desperation of another floor to the vengeful assault of the next, each folding out the story, the history, and most importantly, your situation. Previous reviews are correct; Play with the lights out, alone. You are in the game, in the world, alone, with the unimaginable horror around you and nothing but a dying handgun to stem the tide, while you wrestle with the wracked remnants of the systems. Or maybe the pistol's already dead, and your stuck in the bowels of engineering, being closed in by the dark ... and the many. Or maybe your totally out of psi, huddled in a tunnel below the gardens, on the dead nightmare of the endgame, and you can scream, and the only reply you get is the hollow void of space, the whirr of the dying ship, the ghosts of the horribly fated crew ... And the biomass which grows tired of your sentient form. Or maybe you are one sorry sucker and got trapped IN ... Alright, what more can I say? GO buy the game and play it, for the price it's a fricking crime. This game should not deserve the bargain bin (although I'm not going to complain about the price) It will hopefully and likely be the best gaming experience you have ever had. Then, when you are done, you will have lived the experience, be able to say .. "Yeah, I was on the Vaun Braun" ... It's that deep. And the environment? Jeez, amazing. I so wish things hadn't happened the way they did in that game, because the depth and the history make the crew and the ship intrigung, even though it's a little late for them. The VB/Rickenbacker was the coolest sci fi setting, getting to go around in a fully detailed and 100% traversable interstellar ship (except for the sections you end up getting depressurized in hard vaccum, heck, happens to the best of us). Even if it is somewhat used by the time you reach it ... Now that I have finished the game, I am trying to piece together the sequence of events from the datalogs and evidence I witnessed aboard the ship. Now go buy the game already!

Summary: Beats any Game that comes to mind
Review: System Shock2... one of the best shooter games out there. Dark and Scary enviroments fill this game to ofter shadow the creatures lumbering toward you. Looking around is hazerdous to your players health as you search level after level. Man, this is the best shooter i have ever played! I was totally unprepared for the shock at the end of the Von Braun [the starship you start out on] If you want a good game this is it!

Summary: Buy it!
Review: This is truly an epic game. Winner of PC Gamer's Role-Playing game of the year, I dont see why it isn't a big seller. This game has a GREAT story line and complex role-playing system. I warn you agaisnt playing in the dark because it will have you standing back from you moniter, thats how scary it is. The only problem with ss2 is that slows up a bit and clogges your computer. This is because it runs on the thief engine which is designed for little fighting. But this is only a minor problem.

Summary: Classic
Review: I'm a first person shooter fan. I loved Halflife and all the Quakes. This is better. It has a long learning curve for someone inexperienced in RPG like me. But it was worth the work. I agree with the earlier reviewer who recommended not reading about it - just do it.

Summary: Wonderful gameplay, and will scare you.
Review: This game is great. The sound is terrific, the graphics are good, and the interface is very easy to use. The best thing about it is the creepy feeling you get when you play it. Try it with the lights out, late at night, when no one is home. One minor problem that novice players should note. This game can be very hard. If you are used to Quake-type games, be prepared to change your style of play. The guns in this game degrade and break VERY quickly, and there isn't that much ammo to go around anyway. You should find other ways to get around this problem. It is more realistic in a sense, because who in the hell is going to want to take on all of these zombies and killer robots anyway? Part of the fun is avoiding and getting away from these nasty monsters. Other than the difficulty factor, this game is near perfect.

Summary: Unbelievable. This is the gaming equivalent of crack!
Review: I have played hundreds of games over the years, many of them excellent. But never, never have I had the mix of cinematics and action that this game delivers. If you have a sound system that is decent at all, the 3d stereo alone is enough to make your skin crawl. With a good surround-sound setup you are in for the scare of your life over and over. I have no idea why this isn't the blockbuster that it deserves to be, but that means plenty on the shelves for those in the "know". I'm playing for the third time and I still jump every now and then.

Incredible!

Try it, you will NOT be let down.

Summary: Absolutely excellent!
Review: Whoa! This game is far better than anything else I've played within last year at least. Normally I play flightsims and WW II strategy games only, but this is a must. 100x better than any Quake III, Unreal Tournament, even better than Half-Life . It's a pure horror and creepiest experience ever. I only hope that my hair won't go white within next couple of weeks....

Recommend to everyone with a good PC and a strong heart.

Run on PII400/128MB, Prophet3D DDR 32MB video, SB AWE64 sound, Win98SE /a better soundcard would be probably a plus here, and I might buy one, if just for this game only; it's that good!/

Summary: Best game i've played
Review: I can honestly say, that this is THE best game I think i've played. The first was great, innovative and totally consuming. This however, breaks the mold. I can't tell you how many times I've played this game through, 8 or 9 minimum. Just get it, play it and thank me.

# of times foot has been injured from sudden jerk because one of 'The Many' snuck up on me, 3 and counting.

GREAT GAME!
