Summary: The Longest Journey
Review: If you are bored with first person shooters, complex strategy games, rpgs that take a life time to finish, then this game could be for you. Share a fantastic adventure between Arcadia and Stark with art student April Ryan. Along the journey you will meet the most interesting creatures, characters, and villains as you find the fancinating truth behind April's true origin. Lay out of the game is okay, only 2 dimensional scenes however, graphics are quite good. Voice overs and background sound and music are very good as they enrich your game play experience. Game play and Movements are just point and click - pretty much like the old sierra games (Kings Quest and Quest for Glory). Overall, if you love adventure fantasy games you will love this.

Summary: Decent, entertaining, foolproof and easy
Review: The plot of this game was well thought out and the graphics were gorgeous. In the beginning, this seemed to be promising for 3 dimensional fully realized science fiction world. Unfortunately, the game failed to deliver completely.
I had two main problems with this game. The first problem is that this game is incredibly easy. I found myself only looking up hints 2 or 3 times, and this was usually because of a false pixels that fail to change from an eye icon to an interact icon. There is no way to die in this game, and there is no way for you to trap yourself. The trapping yourself part is good, because it's no fun to have to restore a saved game from a couple hours ago because you forgot to close a door. But, as a veteran of Sierra's old games, I have to say this game lacks the adrenalin pumping thrill and true warmth and character development from say, Gabriel Knight, the King's Quest, or the Space Quest series. The chase scene towards the end of the game was laughable and ridiculously easy and badly done. I recommend Phantasmagoria, the first 1 if you want to see a really well done chase scene.
April also failed to deliver completely for me. Her character is for the most part warm hearted, but she gets a little flaky around the edges. Her constant insecurity is refreshing, but it is also irritating. She lacks Gabriel's humor and style, or Grace's wit. She is no where near as original as a tortured Shadow Hunter (Schattenhager) discovering his past or even a clutzy janitor that fell asleep in a broom closet while the ship was under attack. But, she is still better than Kate from the lovely epic "Syberia" with her annoying cellphone and her Bloomingdales conversations. ("Oscar, little retarded boy, pick up that icky, mucky oar for me so I don't have to get my hands dirty".)
Some noteworthy characters who are pretty witty and fleshed out and worth mentioning are Crow, and the man from Stark who got trapped in Arcadia, (I can't remember his name).
I did get all the way through this game, but towards the end I was playing it just to finish it more than playing it because I cared how it ended.
In closing, I will say that this game is definetly worth checking out. I just would never pay more than 20 dollars for it. It's done a lot better than most of the games that have been put out since Sierra stopped making adventure games, but I stop short of calling it a genuine classic.

Summary: SUCH A COOL GAME!!
Review: This was a very cool game. The plot was good and it really kept my interest. The only thing was that it was so long! But since it had cool graphics and a good story and lots of things to do, it is very worth giving it a try. If you love games with great plots and activities, you'll love this game.

Summary: I couldn't stop playing!!!
Review: Wow! This game was spectacular! Some of the adventure games I've played recently couldn't hold a candle to this one. Graphics were great - not 360 degrees, but there's no need! Great renderings of each scene. I prefer 3rd person games, as this one is, but the main character in this game could have used a little bit of softening around the edges (anti-aliasing?), but it's great to see who you're controling. The storyline was extremely unique - a bit long winded in places - there were times when I was sitting there listening to 15 minutes of history/stories/folktales, which were not always necessarily needed to complete the game. But it made for an interesting story, still. There is a bit of foul language, (reference to the ever popular 4 letter words), but don't let that hinder you! The dialogue sounded very professionally done - none of that "just read the words" stuff - very authentically spoken. The game lasts for ever, hence, "the longest journey", but I can't tell you how glad I was that the game didn't end in 3 or 4 sittings. I think I put about 40 hours into this one. The only major drawback was that they could have put more challenging puzzles in, and less dialogue. There were a few puzzles that took a little bit of time, and only 2 that required the assistance of a "cheat" to help me out, but most all of the puzzles are self explanatory - meaning, they relate to the game and are obvious what the goal is - not like some games, where there's a puzzle just stuck in the middle of the game with no relation to the game whatsoever. I'm overall thoroughly pleased with the game, and thinking of playing it again!! The musical score was great, and there's even a bonus that allows you to hear script reading goof-ups (outtakes) by the actors, and preliminary graphic renderings of the story characters and places, plus additional music scores. No wonder it was named the game of the year!!! Very pleased, highly recommended.

Summary: Fantastic Story Line
Review: This is a great game to play not only for some of its thought provoking puzzles, but for the great story line as well. Now, I must admit that the conversation with some of the characters were exceedingly lengthy and could have been cut down to a minimum. I like the character April, and her sassy attitude and some of her great one liners had me rolling with laughter. The language is not suitable for someone under 17 years of age. This game is definitely worth playing and anyone that likes playing third-person games will definitely enjoy this game. This is a MUST HAVE.

Summary: a pleasant surprise
Review: when my husband got me this game for christmas, i wasn't sure that i would like it. the graphics and description on the back made the game seem dark & foreboding, and i enjoy games like grim fandango and the monkey island series because of the humor that they infuse into the game in addition to the puzzles to solve. once i started it, though, i was hooked. there was humor in the game as well. and the puzzles made sense, as opposed to some of them in the other adventure games. there were some loose ends that never were tied up, though. i wasn't quite sure where the character of the bartender fit in, or what happened to him after the whole thing was over. it might have been nice if they had shown his reaction to the whole thing, especially since he seemed to be a major character in her life. (& that's the only reason i'm giving this game four stars, rather than 5)

Summary: Visually Amazing
Review: If anyone is debating whether to get this game or not, just go get it! It's amazing! April Ryan, the main character, talks like a normal person and acts just like an 18 year old should. One of my favourite parts of this game is April's diary, after something interesting happens, you can read what April's thought were, and some are very hilarious! The only beef I have with this game is the amount of reading. I'm not against reading, but in some parts of the game, you sit and read, with no choice to leave the computer or you'll miss something, for 10-15 minutes or more at a time. Other than this, a total A+! I wish there were more games like it!

Summary: The Best Adventure Game Ever
Review: This game is truly the best adventure game ever created. It combines beautiful graphics, believable characters, and an excellent storyline. As one of the other reviewers said, had this game been a book, it would have been a best seller. The puzzles are never too hard, and are never illogical, except for one at the offset of the game. Everything makes sense, and when you finish the game you will be left with a great sense of fulfillment, while at the same time craving more. It is too bad that Funcom has decided to only create MMOGs from now on and does not plan to make a sequel. Never the less, if you enjoy Adventure game, buy this game today...you will not be disappointed.

Review: If you like beautiful graphics, challenging adventure and a great story line, this is for you! It's not only one of the most visually outstanding games I've played, but also one of the most interactive. You ARE the main character. You get to choose her responses and actions and you get to question others. This isn't just a game, it's an escape. An unbelievable journey!
