Summary: very angry
Review: i was totally into the game and finally entering baldur's gate for the first time when i found out that the 5th cd was scrached and every time i entered the city or tried anything on the 5th cd the game would freeze and now i am not able to finish the game. i agree with anybody who says the black isle took little concern in making the cd's work, the first cd had something, i didn't know what it was, the customer service didn't know what it was, and i had to spend almost 15 mintues rubbing my cd with rubbing alcohol to get this...crap ofmy cd and make it run. although the game is great i would not remomend taking the gamble with your money and hope that you get a game with 5 usable cd's, good luck though

Summary: The D.M.'s fantasy
Review: I have had this game for a couple of months, but still haven't beat it. although my lengthiness in beating it may be because, I do not have ready access to a windows most of the time, I find this game very challenging. I finally went out there and bought the guide, and, the game is still just as hard. Overall this game is good, and I enjoyed (and still enjoy) playing it

Review: I really liked this game. It hurls you into a fantasy world with stunning graphics and smooth DirectX animation. It's perfect for any hardcore AD&D gamer and all my friends like it. Five stars out of five!

Summary: an awesome game
Review: this game is great because of many reasons, the main one being that you totally get pulled into the game and the characters on your team or "party" feel like real because all of them have a unique character, agenda, and background. furthermore, almost everyone you meet has something original to say to you. Of course after a while they will repeat. The game has a wide choice of install size too, from a huge 2 and a-litlle-bit gigabytes which will lower the loading times o a relatively small 317 mb which will make the game's load times long. The game is extremely long and can take from 1 to 5 and more days(depends on your skills, how often you save and whether you only do the main quest or if you do some or all of the subquests) The game is difficult on any difficulty level unless you follow the exact reccomended routes and not wander off to, you know, adventure. But if you save often, get the best armor and weapons for our characters, keep a lot fo potions with you and pause to think out your tactical moves, you should find the game extremely addictive and very fun! if you like Ad&D or if you really like rpg's, you will love this game. If you are new to the genre this will get you in the game and keep you in. If you aren't a fan of rpg's this is a good game to start with. If you want to try computer games, this might be a wee bit hard, unless you have playd AD&D.

Summary: Good, but a bit dated
Review: This is an awfully good game, but I'd suggest to the publisher that a new version be issued using the updated engine used in the sequel.

Summary: Why does everyone like this game?
Review: I used to be a D&D geek. I would rather play any plain old dungeon crawl than this game. Sure it may use the official rules, but this game seems to run as slowly on my PIV 1.3g as it does on my PII 300m. What's up with that? I'm sure Interplay would blame it on both my hardware configurations.

Further, I love role playing games as much as the next guy, but why do these people say they're going to use the official rules, and then try to make this game seem like a real-time game. The game is turn-based. Why not leave it at that? You can hit the attack button all you want in Baldur's Gate, but you never know when you're character will actually attack. Am I missing something or does everyone else writing reviews for this game work for Interplay?

Summary: A Top Adventure!
Review: I bought this game a year after it's release. I knew nothing about this game and the reason I bought it was because it was on sale. My initial reaction when I played it was the quality of the graphics. I own a P133 and have not experienced games of like this before. I soon found my self hooked. The game is unbelievable! It does take a bit of time to get into, but once you're in, you just don't want to get out! The game is massive and the story draws you in, you get the feeling that your in the game and you feel the urge to do well. I haven't played any of the other Bioware games like BG2 because of my PC specs but I would advice any RPG fan to buy this straight away. It's just TOPS!!

Summary: MAY BE A GOOD GAME BUT I WOULDN'T KNOW
Review: When I received this game I opened it up and right away started installing it, but wait in all the excitement i didn't notice it being in the cardboard CD holder and because it was the installation wouldnt work why? Cause the CD was scratched beyond repair. Good job Interplay. I will right another reveiw when I receive my new package telling you if the game is as bad as Interplay's packing job.

Summary: best RPG I've ever played
Review: First let me just say that I've never played D&D before. I saw this gama and it looked like diablo 1&2 (which I both love). Only problem was I was a little scared I'd buy the game and not understand how to play it, since I've never played and D&D game before in any way shape or form in my intire life. on the back of the box it said stuff like "2nd edition AD&D rules". Which I had no idea what it meant. I was worried it would be complicated and i'd have wasted my money cause personally I dont WANT to learn about D&D i just like playing a fun RPG everyonce in a while, so you dont need to know anything about D&D to play this game, also it's about 10x funner then diablo 2. I know the game came out about 2 1/2 years ago and the graphics are a little bit dated, but they still rock. And also when your done with baldurs gate you can get baldurs gate 2 and import your guy so unlike diablo 1&2 where after you beat the first one you have to start from scratch on the second one you start with your old guy and your ready to go.
