Summary: well-developed, interesting, but not the greatest
Review: GK3 comes close to being a great game. The upsides include the camera freedom, decent graphics at high resolutions, and fairly good plotline. The downsides include Tim Curry's horrible redneck American accent, Knight's un-funny jokes/commentary, and the sometimes annoying lack of direction. It's different when an adventure game requires intellect, but the trial/error/luck tendencies of GK3 can be tedious.
On the plus side again, I do hope a fourth Gabriel Knight comes out soon. The series still has potential. The voice acting needs to improve, and there perhaps needs to be more options for the character when he interacts with another character/object.
I do like the realistic setting, a place you could possibly visit rather than other adventure games that are completely escapist. Overall, GK3 isn't the worst adventure out there, but The Longest Journey, Beyond Atlantis, etc. are probably more worth your effort.

Summary: excellent
Review: I can't say that the graphics are the best I've ever seen - the backgrounds are gorgeous but, with a lot of things, expecially the people, you'd think the game designers had never heard of a curve in their lives. However, the game itself made me forget about all that. Gabriel Knight is his usual chauvanistic self, but, in spite of that, his relationship with Grace is further developed in this game. The puzzles vary in difficulty, but I never felt as if any of them were impossible. It's easy to see that a lot of research went into the story in this game, and, after finishing the game, I was interested enough to read some of the books they got their research from (there's a bibliography in the game's booklet).

Amazingly enough, this game is also replayable - if you do the minimum amount of things necessary to win this game, you still won't have seen everything in the game. There are places you don't have to go, things you don't have to see, and even alternative ways of achieving the same goal, that all create reasons to play this game again. Except those areas of the game where you can die, or get caught by the bad guys, none of that will change how the game ends, but it's still interesting to go back and look for the things you missed - you even get points for the things you do, so you can tell how close you are to seeing everything the game has to show you. And for those of you who, like me, play these kinds of adventure games because you don't like getting killed or having to kill things, don't worry, most of that happens at the end of the game.

Summary: Knight 3
Review: This game is brilliant. It's my first game in the Knight series and I was completely immersed in the game right from the very beginning.
The plot comprises of a supernatural mystery. The story is great and the characters are amiable. Each character is well drawn as a subplot that contributes well to the main plot. The identity of Mr. Baza is quite a surprise by the end. The subplot between Gabriel and Grace is open ended. Mystery freaks wouldn't mind replaying the game over and over again along with those who would like to get the total score of 965.
Game play is easy. You are caught in time blocks and to complete each time block you have to perform certain series of required actions. This is what I liked best about the game because you get the feeling that you are moving in the right direction and hence you needn't worry about replaying any part of the game.
At times I got stuck solving the mystery and had to take a look at hint sites and found out that nothing is impossible in any mystery game if you really have the time and patience to look into every nook and corner.
The ending was great. Oh I simply loved the puzzles once Gabriel enters the cave. They were fun. I do have one complaint with this game - I wish it didn't have to end at all.
5 STARS.

Summary: Adventure at its best
Review: The third installment of Gabriel Knight is simply fantastic. The amount of puzzle solving is extremely satisfying.. the storyline is totally engrossing and the characters are their usual entertaining lovable self. Gabriel is the best-selling author who likes to solve 'mysteries' as a hobby.. the shadow hunter. This time he's off chasing vampires and the story will definitely surprise and might even shock you.. but then, that's the way Gabriel Knight is!

If you don't know who or what Gabriel Knight is, get the first two installments of the game, they're among the most enjoyable games you're likely to play ever. Jane Jensen has the wonderful ability of mixing reality with fiction and the stories are all based on real events and set in real locations.

This is a wonderful game with a real storyline and characters, and dialogue that you'll enjoy listening to (and reading). The story will absorb you completely and you'll feel sorry when it finally ends, you'll be even sadder when you know that Sierra does not plan on producing more Gabriel Knight games.

Summary: Entertaining, but....
Review: Enjoyable game but definitely nowhere near the fun of the Beast Within. I would reccommend this game but you may want to sell it afterward on Amazon...

Summary: Stunning
Review: I had seen this game sitting on the shelves of software stores for months. When the price finally lowered I decided to buy it. It was well worth my money. The game is absolutely stunning.

The first thing to note is the graphics. The textures aren't really that detailed, but that doesn't stop them from preforming. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Playing the game makes me want to visit Rennes le Chateau for real.

The next good thing is the soundtrack. It is perfect. Every scene has a unique track. Sometimes I have the character just stand around doing nothing so I can enjoy the music.

Lastly the story is fabulous. It has some great supernatural influence, as well as classic detective work.

I take away one star because some of the puzzles can be ridiculously difficult expecially if you don't understand what you're supposed to be doing, but don't let that stop you. If you really need to you can always find a walkthru.

Summary: Wonderful Story with Great Graphics
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It was more than a game it was experience. The plot was strong with many twists and turns you expect from a good mystery. GK3 has a very neat interface and is easy to move around in once you understand the controls. The only real complant I have is I wish there was better help on the different setup options for the graphics. The game is challenging but not impossible to finish with the help of the hint feature provided. If you enjoy a good mystery, have an open mind and enjoy playing adventure games as I do you will love this game.

Summary: Gabe and Grace strike again!
Review: Despite the BICTE (Better In Conception Than Execution)graphics, this is a great game. I was hesitant to try this series because I'm not a horror fan, but the blood'n'guts aspect is extremely mild in all three: I have not been hesitant to have my four year old in the room with me when I play. Jane Jensen's depth and ability to write absorbing plot lines just continues to improve. While in this one she has Gabe nominally tackle the subject of vampires, she weaves an enjoyably complex plot that involves the Holy Grail, the Knights Templar, the Freemasons and a lot of other fun bits of off-beat mysticism. Sections in which the gamer learns a possible "identity" of the Wandering Jew and the way in which Gabe's family's schatenjager history got its start are truly touching (although if you are a hard core fundamentalist Christian, you might find some of the material philosophically objectionable). A cadre of neat, new puzzles revolves around the use of a computer Grace has programed with all the info a schatenjager could *ever* need -- if you're stuck on a problem, it's fun to just search the database for info on Wicca, the Freemasons, magic, and the Star of Bethlehem. The foray into 3-D animation results in an absorbing world, although the "people" animation has been done much better in games like the *Journeyman* trilogy. I prefered the video clips used in the second GK game to this polygon animation that is not much better than that used in the awful *Mask of Eternity*, also by Sierra (a thoroughly misnamed *Kingsquest* game). But at least it gives us back the silken-voiced Tim Curry as Gabe: who would guess this versatile actor also voices Nigel Thornberry?!

Summary: it is "OK"
Review: After passing Gabriel Knight 1 and 2 long before this game came out I was very "into" the gk series, then the third installment came. I was expecting it to be like the first one, cartoonish and not very realistic, I was right. In my opinion, gabriel knight 2 is the best of the series only because the personalities of the characters stand out the most in the gabriel knight series. Gabriel knight 2 uses real actors whom gave a great performance, the use of 3d and going back to Tim Curry in GK3 was going down a step. Gk3 is basically Gk1 in polygonal format with a less interesting backset.

I was very dissapointed in the story of this game, in the end after I confirmed the whole story, i said "nice try". Nice try as in, 'nice try, but the story just doesn't work out'. One thing that makes the GK series good, is gabriel himself. He was protrayed well in this game, because they used Tim Curry as the voice, as they did in GK1. Another character you play in the game is Grace, very frusterating when it comes turn to play her, the game totally changes from fun and comical to extremely boring. In all fairness though, playing Grace is boring in all 3 games.

So to cut things short the only incentive to play thie game is for the 3d graphics, they are indeed nice eye candy. I recommend playing "The Longest Journey", or if you want a taste of the GK series, Gabriel Knight 2 is the way to go.

Summary: A great plot and execution, bad riddle
Review: The GK3 is a good game. As in the previous games, GK is investigating an ocult mystery set in France. The interactivity of the game is good, the plot is intriguing and encourages you to do more research on teh subject. However, the riddles are sometimes too complicated, leaving the player at a loss. At one point I began to wonder what the point of all this is. Anotehr somewhat annoying thing in the game was that shortcuts are not available for a lot of the places, GK or Grace should go to. There is a map that gets yout o different locations in the region, however, you have to walk around the town every time you want to visit a different building within the town. While I understand taht this is done on purpose--you collect clues on the way, players should have an option to skip these steps and minimize wasting time watching GK walk the same streets a hundred times before the game is over.
