Summary: runs like a pig
Review: This game has huge potential. My friends and I play team based games on our LAN all the time. I was convinsed that Tribes 2 would be our next addiction. After purchasing the game I found out that sierra dropped Glide support so if you own a 3dfx card your out of luck. Later I found out that you also need to have a very fast processor to run the game, so my PIII 500mhz won't do anyway. The thing I can't get past, is that the Graphics aren't that great. Black and White is 10 times better and runs great on my machine. Tweaking Tribes 2's graphics does nothing for your framerates either. I have emailed sierra several times and have received no personalized response. They tell you to turn down the graphics. Sierra has really missed the boat on this one. Oh well, back to Unreal Tournament.

Summary: Absolute Crap--Sierra runied a great game with bugs
Review: I loved StarSiege and the original Tribes. Tribes 2 won't even run. I have DLd and patched and patched and patched, and I still don't even get to a title screen. I have had driver issues with a game before, but this is insane. I have a Dell P3 700 and a voodoo 5000 graphics card. All over Sierra's forums are complaints about the "unhandled errors" that plague this game.

Sierra's tech support is a joke. I have spent HOURS on the phone with them--every tech wants to try the same tests, and I walk though each session with them only to get the same, canned answer: "try this patch."

This is two-in-a-row that Sierra has ripped me off on--I'd be very hesitant to buy something from this publisher again, regardless of reviews.

From the other posts and reviews, I know this is an awesome game if you can get it to run. However, after reading the posts on Sierra's site and talking with their tech support, several popular configurations (like voodoo cards) just will not work. I have invested hours getting it to run and it will not. Unfortunately, it is a crap shoot on whether you'd be able to get it to run. Be smart, save your money, and check back at sierra.com routinely until they get the UE (unhandled error) bugs worked out.

Complete failure and lousy tech support.

Summary: Adds only a little to the tried and true multiplayer genre
Review: I tried this game at a friend's house, expecting something along the lines of Half Life, or even Unreal Tournament, but I was disappointed. First of all, I'm a huge Counter-Strike fan, so I am used to slick looking weapons models. Certainly don't expect any sweet looking weapons in Tribes 2. It looks like the programmers spent all of one day designing all of the weapons. They are boring, rectangular, and plain, and look nothing like the deadly changuns, grenade launchers, and anti-aircraft guns they're supposed to be. On the plus side, there are a good dozen or so weapons, so at least you have variety.

Tribes 2 is different from other multiplayer games in a few subtle ways. First and foremost, the game introduces vehicles that let you fly around or drive around and wreak havoc. That is, if you can get into them (more on that later). There is a 3 man bomber that lets 2 of your teammates team up with you. Each has a different task--one drives, the other bombs, and another works the rear turret gun. Very cool. There is also a battle tank and a solo fighter, and these are very formidable in appearance; the designers seemed to have spent a lot more time on the vehicles (and player models) than the weapons models.

Another cool feature of the game is the ability to outfit yourself as a number of different soldiers. Say you want to defend with heavy weapons, or assault with heavy weapons. You step into a weapons assembler (or whatever it's called) and you're suddenly laden with armor, ammo, and heavy munitions. You move slower, but you pack a lot of firepower. I find it's better to be quick, since you're an easy target for the faster guys when you've got all the weapons.

The other cool thing about this game is its unique mission styles. There are the standard games--deathmatch (which isn't too fun in this game, hence the lack of servers running it), capture the flag, and capture and hold, which is much like UT's Domination game. Up to 64 players can join a game, which you'd think would be crazy. It's not though, since the maps are so big and the bases so far apart, you actually find yourself killing less people than in a UT or HL game.

On top of the great lack of action you sometimes find in the large games (which take forever to load first of all, since the maps are so big), the rocket pack you're given is very difficult to control. I think it's ridiculous that you have to become frustrated with a game's controls, but that's what happened to me. People with slower computers or those without at least a GeForce 2 will lag seriously, so multiplayer games will also be frustrating.

In short, Tribes 2 offers a few nice touches to the multiplayer genre, such as vehicles, enhanced teamplay, and larger maps, but falls short in many other categories. I quickly grew bored with the game's lack of intensity.....

Summary: Does Not Work With Most Graphics Cards
Review: I got this game for my Dell Pentium III 700 and it did not work. My screen flickered when in the game and I could not see anything. I realized that on the bottom of the box it is REQUIRED that you have 1 out of a few of the graphics card listed at the bottom. I have a Diamond Viper Graphics card and it required that I have a Diamond Viper II graphics card. Don't buy this game if you don't have a state of the art graphics card or else.

Summary: fogwars
Review: I bought it when it first came out and it was missing alot of stuff. Now two months later it is still unfinished,no scoring for vehicles, community options still are not finished.Still a lot of bugs from the start and they add more all the time.Last patch they new they were adding a bug with the turrets but did it anyways and said they would fix it the next patch. The worst change thye have made so far is last patch they fogged in all the maps as a great code fix to improve fps for low end computers. Now its like playing in fogwars.Instead of unlimted viewing areas as you see on the box here or screenshots anywheres its all fogged in now.All you see are red triangles coming at you through the fog in the distance. If you like fog buy this game, you can't see far now so it is no different than any other game, your suppose to be outddors but its the same as Quake or Counterstrike, instead of normal walls you have fog walls.

Review: This is one of the best games i have ever played, but its not for everyone, you do need a really good system for the full gaming experience but even if you dont the game is still really fun.

Summary: Need more power
Review: Well, never played tribes 1 so the learning curve is incredibly steep. (veteran players are no help either, they just laugh at the newbie) But hosting your own lan games and then learning is ok. Gamespot game guide helps too. i play alot of UT (mindless killing is my forte), also UT capture the flag - but team play is tough. I mostly see guys doing their own thing, no teamwork whatsoever - except for the clans. Also it's pretty slow at this point PIII 800, radeon all in wonder, 128mb ram, 30 gig western digital ata 100. Also loading the levels is INCREDIBLY SLOW, a little better in multiplay than in the tutorial but dang, I mean slllooowww. But it is starting to get pretty fun, blowing up stuff secretly, sneaking up on people, sabotaging other peoples bases, setting up killer defense (DougthaThug's landspike turret kills someone else!) I think it's worth it, have fun

Summary: Tribes 2 goes to incredibe standards
Review: I found that this game was inceredible and I was really amazed with how the forums worked and it is so simple to have a clan online with your friends just put them on your buddy list and send them an invitation. Then you and your friends can play on line as a team in the same clan chalenging all sorts of people. Then there is a player and clan search that make finding people really easy. It is also intresting how as you play everyone develops a better role and wether your are serious or not it is a great game. One of my favorite aspects of the game was that you are able to drive vehicles and they drive better than in some racing games my personla favorite is the Shirke scout flyer.

This is player Devil Bunny (efb) from the Evil fluffy Bunny Flock hope to see you online:as you can see i am not a seirous player
