Summary: Awsome game, totally what i expected.
Review: I purchased C&C Generals and was unable to play because of my computer which is brand new but it has a celearon proseser. So i have to sell my Computer and get a higher pentium like a 4. I was able ot play it over my friends hosue and i loved it. It was extremely addicting i dident want to leave.

Summary: Not quite the same as the previous versions
Review: I didn't like Generals as much as Red Alert and Red Alert 2. For me, it's all about building different kinds of units and structures, but the selection is about half of that of the RA games. But the best graphics to date if you can afford the 1.5 GB of space it takes up.

Summary: Not as good as previous C&C games
Review: Generals looks great, and is a decent game, but it falls far short of previous Command & Conquer titles.

First off, while this game is VERY similar to the previous titles, many handy user controls have been omitted this time with no apparent advantage. Having played many RTS games, including every C&C game to date, I was constantly frustrated trying to move my units around the map.

Second, it's the buggiest C&C to date. I have to reboot my machine after I play because DirectX can't be initialized by other games following a C&C session.

Third, this game is too similar to previous C&Cs. The units are basically the same as they've always been with different names. The tank classes are very familliar, and after C&C Tiberian Sun, the creativity in selection of the other units is pathetic.

I've always looked forward to new C&C games, but this one seems like it was rushed to market.

Summary: If all RTS games were like this!
Review: Well, basically, C&C Generals, has to be the best RTS game out in the market. Ive been anticipating its release for a while, and now that it's out, im not dissapointed at all. Generals is based on issues and global conflict our world today. You have the option of playing as China, USA, or an underground organization, known as the GLA(Global Liberation Army), each with its own distinct capabilities and missions.

The graphics are simply awe-inspiring. Almost every other move you make, is followed by a very neat video-clip. Trails left by cruise missiles and F22 Raptors is stunning. Buildings and houses and civilians are very life-like, similar to Sim City4.
You get to fight in Urban areas, deserts and many other locales.

The gameplay is very similar to other RTS games. If youve played Real War and Real War: Rogue states, then C&C Generals is nothing new, besides the improved graphics. Loads of levels to play, and ton's of strategies to adopt adds a good replay-value to this title. Sounds are very well done and the music is superb.

In conclusion C&C Generals is a great buy. Make sure your computer system meets or more preferabley exceeds the system requirments.

Summary: I thought it would be better
Review: Solo play is not that good little or no stroy line which is very uncommon for a C&C game. I played all the U.S. Solo levels on hard and it only took about 4 hours to play them all. Westwood did not set a new standard here. Think twice before spending the 50 bucks!

Summary: What have they done?
Review: This game is terrible. I got the game in time as I had pre ordered it from amazon, but this game is actually horrible, the worst ive played in the command and conquer series. The camera angle is terrible and the units move so [darn] slow. They need to work way more harder if they want to see these games.
I do not recommend this game to anyone at all

Summary: Enough is enough.
Review: This is 2003, and I for one have completely had it with Westwood's ridiculously bad AI. We took this kind of unit stupidity in 1992 with Dune 2 when the RTS genre was new, but when is Westwood finally going to wake up, smell the coffee, and realize that they can't just keep putting new graphics on the same game, give a minor gameplay tweak here and there, ignore the AI and corresponding strategy elements, and expect us to dutifully keep swallowing it and shelling out the bucks?

What was the original C&C's gameplay like? Click click click click, build build build build, then click to attack (or defend) with your hundreds of units. Repeat. And repeat. Until someone edges out a win because they clicked slightly faster, or the tiberium is done and a victory is squeaked in via attrition. Now fast forward to 2003 and C&C: Generals. What's the gameplay like? Click click click click, build build build build, then click to attack (or defend) with your hundreds of units. Repeat. And repeat. Etc ad nauseum.

This isn't strategy. In fact the so-called "Real-Time Strategy" has never been about strategy at all...it's just a marketing term to give a very rote, very brain-numbing kind of gameplay more of a cerebral spin. Well a lot of us tolerated that lack of strategy and AI, with the hope that as the genre matured, Westwood would have enough vision (if not common sense) to finally put in a worthy AI and make these games a truly fun, strategic challenge to play. Well they never did, and with what we're seeing, it doesn't look like they ever will...all they do is spend all of their resources - ALL of them - on graphics. The computer "opponents" and units are all as stupid as ever, and once you learn the units and the rote action, gameplay is also just as coma-inducing. :P

Save your money and your time. You haven't just seen this before, it's practically all you've seen if you've followed Westwood games, and anyone expecting this game to finally start using the immense amount of potential computer intelligence available to us with modern PCs, will be very disappointed indeed. "C&C: Generals"? More like Mindless Clickfest 2003. Pass.

Summary: This is worth your money. Go Get It NOW!!
Review: If you like RTS games then this is for you. I am predicting that Command and Conquer:Generals will be game of the year for 2003. The improvements are great. The game just makes more "sense" now. The air units are more important than ever to your success and the sound in this game is just phenominal in 5.1 in some levels you can here people speaking in arabic, dogs barking etc.
The graphics are excellent. I always wanted to zoom into the action, now you can adjust you zoom level to what ever you like. It makes you feel like you are part of the battle rather than a god observing from on high. The front end visuals and menus are done very well. Some have said that they are disappointed that the series has taken a different path. Nod is non-existent in this game and so is the cheesy acting. This game is taking a more serious tone.
There was the rumor of needing a high end video card to run this game. I am having no problem with my laptop running this game. It has the mobile Raedon 7600. I think that is the equivalent of a Geforce 2.
With an upgrade any soldier can now capture buildings(which makes more sense to me) Your war factory can now repair vehicles( makes mores sense to me)
The explosions are awesome, you see soldiers and pieces of shrapnel flying everywhere. The AI is fairly smart at the higher difficulty settings and each army type has their own strengths and weaknesses. Too me this really is a whole new game and I am already excited about expansion paks and new maps. I cannot comment on the multiplayer yet as I have been too absorbed in the single player campaign.
I am very satisfied with this game. This was the best $...I have spent this year. If you enjoyed Command and Conquer then you will fall in love all over again.

One word of advice: Don't play this game on Valentines Day because your sweetheart won't see you until the next day!

Summary: Not as Good as it could have been
Review: I am a huge C & C fan but this latest installment is just missing something. Yes it does have great graphics and I like the fact that it has three different armies to choose from but I just like red alert 2 better. I guess one problem is that there are only three different races to choose from. Red Alert 2 had 3 different races if you use the expansion pack but it also had the option of several different countries each with their specific special unit. I just liked it better like that. By far the biggest dissapointment that i have is the lack of ships. I haven't heard anyone else mention the fact that there are no water units of any kind in this game. What happened to the water units? Is there no Navy in the future? I was amazed that they failed to add a navy. Plus if you want to play the game with a friend they need their own set of discs. What is up with that? I don't mind them limiting us to one user key for the internet but limiting us to one player per set of discs is a low blow considering they always let us do that before. The bottom line is get this game if you like RTS. Its a decent game and the graphics are outstanding....

Summary: This Game Is Very Fun.
Review: This Game is like the second best computer game I have ether then Star Wars-Galactic Battlegrounds.I Would say buy this game now.
