Summary: w00t! Alice kicks ...!
Review: There aren't a lot of bad things you could say about such a beautiful masterpiece.

This amazing work of art shows you the inverted looking glass. Alice is a homocidal, comatose gothic chickie who's out for blood against the Queen of Hearts.

In the first cut scene, you learn that Alice's parents died in a fire, leaving Alice an orphan. She was sent to an insane assylum, where she stayed comatose for many years.

Then, her rabbit is returned to her, and she is brought back to wonderland. Except, this wonderland is not all about happy fluffy bunny rabbits...this wonderland is full of enslaved gnomes, pyscho children, a chain-smoking cattipillar, and of course the supreme ... herself, the queen of hearts.

Alice must battle through the different worlds of Lewis Carroll's classic tale. Through the Wonderland Woods, the Land of Fire and Brimstone, the Fortress of Doors, Vale of Tears and many others, this game will leave you pondering the ending even when you aren't playing it...if you can stop playing that is...

The Pros:
* Awesome Graphics
* Wonderful Storyline
* Great 'Toys'
* Realistic Cut-Scenes
* Supreb Gameplay
* Too many others to list

The Cons:
* Fortress of Doors a little too long
* They kill my favorite character ((sorry, had to stick that in there))

Summary: Very interesting
Review: While I enjoyed the plot, the graphics, as well as the music; I found that the way the camera movement was set up was very uncomfortable. It followed Alice way to quickly and caused a slight case of dizzyness. If homemade videos where the camera man is a little unstable dont bother you, go for it! I truely wish I could have finished the game if not for that fact.

Summary: Cool Concept.
Review: There seems to be little room for innovation in games these days, they are either 1st person shoot-em-ups, or grand real time strategy games where one gathers resources and builds armies, or combinations of the two. Because of this, game designers need cool game concepts to fit into these molds. Alice is a neat concept crammed into the Quake-type 3-D first person shooter. The idea of a demented wonderland, toys as weapons, mutated storybook characters with whome we are all familiar and a spooky soundtrack make this game a lot fun. The puzzles are somewhat difficult and the game is a challenge, but just looking around and listening to the music is also fun. I am almost to the end of the game and am going to be sad, but will probably play it again just to soak up the spooky atmosphere of a very un-Disneyesque Wonderland. Just a great idea.

Summary: Great Game!
Review: Good Points:
The graphics are astounding. The Sound is equally impressive. GamePlay is perfect. There are many individual (And very unique) characters you interact with, and each of them have a very well defined personality. The game, overall, is very well thougth out and makes too much sense.

Bad Points:
Nothing but a few trivial nuisances. When you enter into a new level and it autosaves it will pause up during some heavy disk access times. -This could just be my computer (Probably is).

Summary: Flawed
Review: The game Alice is a morbid twist to the beloved nursery story told to children ages' from four to six worldwide. The creator of this game decided to add an addition to that storyline, a sadistic addition about the very girl in Alice and Wonderland. The creator starts off the story by implying that while Alice is in her dream world she accidentally sets the house on fire which will kill her parents and burn down her home. What follows is a sick but entertaining sequence of events that will leave you spell-bound at times.

Here is the basis for the grade that I have given to American McGee's Alice:

Game Play: Though with wonderful graphics both technologically and artistically. The wonderful scenery looks like a hippie on acid having a bad trip. Also the creators threw in a lot of variety for good measure. At one point of the game your play chess, now how cool is that. The creators did blunder with this, instead of moderating to give us a break from the constant run and kill world they loaded almost every level with puzzles, or something of that sort. The game at some points would become tedious; it felt more like work than play. This is inexcusable: (4/5.)

Music: The music had a nice gothic melody at times that well suited the game, story line, and scenery. At some points it would become repetitive or the music was not good enough to catch my attention. In some points in the game I actual turned on the radio because the music was just not cutting it for me, I wish they could have kept the good score of music in every level not just in some. (3.5/5.)

Storyline: Not only original but very well crafted. It had just the right amount of twists and worked well with that nursery story we have heard some point or another. I believe this is the strongest part of the game and kept me committed to finish the ghastly amount of levels presented with this game. (5/5.)

Sound Effects/Graphics: The sound effects were poor; the nice touches the creators did with the graphics were absent with the sound effects. The absence of footsteps, and certain other functions that you expected to here were just never programmed into the game. The developers obviously did not stress sound effects. The graphics though were pretty much just the opposite of the sound effects. Everything was sharp, they added nice touches like when Alice runs her bow on her dress flies up. The graphics are visually stunning. (3/5.)

Weapons: Original but stupid. You will mostly use just three out of ten to beat the game and an additional three in rare instances. The creators should have worked on the other weapons and made them more useful. (3/5.)

Alice is a wonderful game with a lot of potential but just falls short. The puzzles make it seem more like work than fun. The sound effects and music are either uninspired for the most part or just lazy on the creator's part. The total uselessness of most of the weapons makes the game repetitive. (3.7/5 C+)

Summary: A Great game
Review: When I first got this game I thought I'd be disapointed but I wasnt.I was shocked to find this as exciting and thrilling as it is.
The game is about Alice In Wonderland but is twisted.Wonderland has gone to heck and Alice has to save it.I just love action&adventure games.
I would recomend this for 12and up. Even though this is rated M I believe it is suitable for preteens.

Summary: American McGee's Alice
Review: Alice is a third person game inspired by the Lewis Carroll classic. It is built on the quake3 engine, I played it on the default OpenGL video mode and it runs great. At first i did not like the game and did not finish it, but now i love it. The level design is excellent it is one of Alice's great strengths, The level design sure is fantastic and surreal, there are lots of unique touches to each level to keep things fresh. I did not like the weapons and the combat in the game but there are lots of puzzles in the game which are fun to solve. Alice is a really good game. The graphics are dated today but the gameplay is sweet. Buy it you will not be dissapointed.

Summary: O my [goodness!]
Review: this game is the best thing since sliced bread! I played it so much I had dreams about it:) I was expecting some boring game just tiredly put into the confines of the original story line, but was pleasantly suprised to find that while staying with the basic structure of the wonderland books it was dementedly different.

Summary: why haven't i written this before now?
Review: this game has the most beautiful level design i've ever seen in a game. especially the pool of tears level.

one thing that sets this game apart from others like it (hmm.. there is no other game like this one), is the weapons. at no time in the game are you given a weapon that allows you to just run in and clean house. you are forced to think about the best method of acheiving your goal. this game is very challenging. the "puzzles" are not so difficult, but getting to the end of a level in one piece certainly will take more effort than many of the games being sold now... even some of the ones i call my favorites.

i wish more people knew about this game. it seems to have slipped by many gamers. most everyone i mention Alice to has either never played it, or never even heard of it.

but believe me, it's worth buying, and it'll knock you off your feet with its atmosphere.

Summary: DEFECTED?
Review: It might be a fun game if Alice's stats were not in the center of the screen. I have tried everything to fix this: from completely changing the resolution to messing with every last option in the game. I guess I'll just have to wait to see the movie instead.
