Summary: Addicting...
Review: This game is one of the most realistic and fun war games out there. The controls are relatively easy, the play is outstanding, and the graphics are top-notch.

Now, as other reviewers have said, this game is very very heavy duty. You will need at the minimum a gigahertz processor, with a pretty heavy duty video card. I have a 2.26 ghz p4 with a radeon 8500 128 ddr memory and it runs very smooth.

I am totally addicted to this game. My one complaint about this game is the lack of voice communication. I understand that the game was network-intensive enough already, but I think voice would make this game sooo much better.

Still a 5 star game though!!

Summary: Best game ever
Review: This is the best game ever. You can drive tanks, apcs, jeeps, planes, various ships, and much more. I have 500mhz cpu, a geforce420mx graphics card, 256 mb of ram, and i have no lag at all. In fact the multiplayer portion is much less laggy than the Singleplayer. There are 5 diffrent countries in the game (US,UK,Soviet Union,Germany, and the Japanese. This is the best game ever!!

Summary: Excellent WWII first-person shooter
Review: Battlefield: 1942 is one of the greatest WWII games I have ever played. The battles reflect real-time battles like Normandy, Stalingrad, and Operation Market Garden. The environments are extremely large. You almost always need a vehicle to travel if you want to get around quickly. There are many vehicles to choose over too. You can get in a GP (Jeep), an APC, and different kinds of tanks. Aircrafts are also available in some levels. The airplanes can be easy to control is you have a joystick but very difficult with a keyboard. So a joystick like a Microsoft Sidewinder or a Logitech joystick is highly recommended. You won't need that much experience in first-person shooters to play this game. The reason being is the game has not been out for a year yet and people are still getting in on the action. This is the complete opposite of the extremely popular Half-Life: Counterstrike which has been out long enough to the point where you cannont find a game without a highly experienced veteran who will kill you faster than you can blink an eye.
If you like WWII shooters like I do than you will absolutely fall in love with this game. There are classes like scouts (snipers), assault men, and engineers. You may also need a fairly fast computer to play this game without any problems. Oh and don't forget to download the patches [online]. The rating is T for teen because of violence but there is not blood.
Once more, this game is fantastic with flaws that can barely be noticed. The rating is T for teen because of violence but there is not blood shooting from your enemy's bodies. I strongly recommend this game for your child if you don't mind the minor violence. And yes, the violence is minor when it comes to graphic depiction.

Summary: 1.2 patch fixes a lot of problems
Review: The new 1.2 patch, available online fixes a lot of the lagging problems that you read about in the reviews. Yes the hardware requirements are steep, but if you have a relatively new computer with a good video card and a broadband connection then I think you will find this to be the best game you've ever played. You can read the other reviews for more detail about gameplay, but buy the game, get the patch, get online and play!

Summary: THIS GAME IS AWSOME!!!
Review: I HAVE OLNY PLAYED THE DEMO.I LIKE THE GAME BECAUSE THE CONTROLS ARE PRETTY SIMPLE AND THE GRAPHIXS ARE GOOD

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not a Good Single Player Experience
Review: This is an ARCADE KIDS game. The Japanese missions use German machine guns, the air battles are lame. A landing craft approaches and drops off one or two enemy soldiers, NOT much of an invasion. If you want a serious single person gaming experience, minus great graphics, buy Operation Flashpoint + all the FREE MODS on the internet. In OF you can build missions with 100's of soldiers, tanks, boats, ect...... Good IDEA (controlling all sorts of weapons on a battlefield) behind the game, but it lacks realism. Need the option to be able to go up against massive amounts of enemy soldiers, gee kinda like in WWII for many of the battles depicted in the storyline.

The multiplayer is too cool to pass up, still can't stand the single play action. I'm now completely addicted to the online playing, it's fast, it's furious, it's a lot of fun. Still need to work on the small arms realism.

Summary: The best game I Have ever played
Review: I like WWII games and 1st person sooters, I have played a lot of them. But this is by far, the best game game I have ever played. IF YOUR COMPUTER CAN HANDLE IT. I recommend that you find out what kind of vidio card, and how much Ram you have before buying this game. Even if you only have the requirments for one of those, it would be worth it to buy more ram or a vidio card, just to play this game. As I said, this is the best games I have ever played.

Summary: Son of a Gun
Review: This title is really a big winner. You can play it for long hours and not get tired of it because it doesn't get boring.

Of course Counter-Strike is the all time winner: with its adrenaline pumping at 120% every second, but with this one you have better maps (of course, it's a new engine & most sofisticated graphic details), and you can have real strategy to get there. You can be a sniper & sneak around for minutes without being seen (imagine that in Half-Life CS, na way). You can fly airplanes, jump out in your parachute, and start firing just like CS.

I love it, it's a shame we have very limited options in terms of multiplayers servers down here in Brazil.
