Summary: Great game for young and old!
Review: My son and I have great fun mixing and matching creatures. Testing the high breads on the field can be very rewarding or very disappointing. Try the Sperm Whale and the Wolverine - 1500+ health points. Building your own maps is very rewarding. Deciding whether it should be each person for themself - teams - or taking on all the others by yourself is big fun too. Buy and enjoy - you won't regret it!

Summary: boring and over rated
Review: No strategy in this game at. Units have horrible pathing and NO sort of structure. No support units of any type means it is a rush to build the big bad quick and hope you simply outdamage your enemy. It also has it's own rush for resources which is lame. Coal stacks are never enough. Perhaps Battle Realms spoiled me with the living resource model... but these coal piles deplet way to fast which means you just have to expand and land grab quick every game (once again, no strategy). Awful game with a great idea. Could stand to use to a sequal if they actually put in some content rather than that tepid single player campaign (which is so insanely dumbed down to get a T rating). The online part of this game is really bad... the matching room is a massive step down from things like AoM and even Red Alert... It is also incredibly laggy and just a rush for resources.

The graphics are ok... but otherwise, I wouldn't buy this game ([bummer]! I already did). I hope this is not what we have to look forward too in Homeworld 2...

Summary: Wargame with creativity that doesn't stop growing
Review: Not only is this a spectacular game in creativity and strategy, but if you purchase it you can download free online expansions that give you more maps and creatures to choose from. It's not rated Teen for any reason other than the fact that you are fighting with your army. It's not gory or overly violent. I highly recommend it.

Review: Strategy games, both real-time and turn-based, are my preferred genre of computer games. Sadly, there hasn't been much innovation in them since Starcraft added asymmetrical armies (i.e. each unit does not have a direct corresponding unit for another race). This game changes all of that. By allowing you to create your own units, a much greater range of flexibility is introduced (as one other reviewer pointed out, this is flexibility is not as great as the publisher claims, since a large percentage of the combinations would be fairly useless). Because the units are created from existing animals, the process of figuring out what you want to make is also pretty intuitive (e.g. poison frogs poison things, gorillas are big and have powerful arms, and so on).

Some reviewers complain about the relatively high cost of units and buildings relative to the availability of resources. This is true, but I see it as a positive thing. "Turtling" is not a valid strategy in this game. The single most important element at the macro level is expanding your resource gathering and preventing your opponent from doing the same. It also has a vital impact at the micro level as it now becomes very important to try and keep your critters alive and bandage them up after battles.

The graphics are all very good, although if you don't have a fairly new video card (something that was mainstream within the last 12-18 months), you'll find yourself having to drop the resolution or detail level to get acceptable framerates.

The game lacks some of the niceties that Warcraft III introduced to the genre - no hotkey to select idle workers for instance, and no choice of formation based movement vs. everybody-run-in-a-straight-line movement. The path finding at times is abyssmal.

The missions in the campaign are all real missions that will take at least half an hour, with many requiring more than an hour. This is much better than some of the missions in Warcraft III that can be completed in under ten minutes if you work hard and fast.

The cutscenes in the campaign are pretty much par for the course, but at least the developers seemed to realise that, so they are handled with a bit of self-deprecating humour.

Had it been an option, I probably would have given 3.5 stars. It isn't the greatest game ever, but you should get plenty of hours of enjoyment out of it without having to fork over the cash that some of the new releases require.

Summary: My Opinion Doesn't Count
Review: The reason for this statement is as follows: It's impossibly hard. I did get quite far, but, I of course got stuck. After playing this single mission over and over and over again, I quit. Then, I went back to it, played it over and over and over again, for the second time. Guess what I did? I quit for good. I'm not bieng completley negative, though. There were some good sides, well, one good side. The game lets you get creative. I've always dreamed of dominating the world with a giant army of...MONKEYFISH!!! My master plan was finally put into action. Unfortunatley, it was crushed. My poor, poor, Monkeyfish died. All of them. Not one of them survived. And because I had 45 of them, I couldn't believe my army was defeated in a quick 10 seconds. If you like Monkeyfish as much as I do, then you might want to get this game. But, before you do ANYTHING, think about all of the other places that hefty 25 dollars could go. The Sims Online would be a superb alternative, but, that's just my opinion. That's all that this 13 has to say. I shall finish with one final quote: "Ummmmm...donuts" -Homer Simpson

Godspeed,
Noname

Summary: IC
Review: This game is awesome! There is more to it then you know. A site called icp.mednickonline.com or Impossible Creatures PLanet has downloads and other stuff to make this game better. They are new maps, mods, and creatures. Its a fourms site so read the rules and have fun playing IC. If you to play multiplayer beware of the flaming there and please do not insult anyone or you won't like it. Beware they will be better then you but over time u well get better I myslef is an "pro" but I'm not the best. Multiplayer is a great place to learn how to play the best vidoe game ever. You can talk to people from Germany(I myself do know someone), Austraila, and plenty more. If u go to icp.menickonline.com register on the site it's not a bade site. Make sure before you go online you know how to play the game. People have formed clans(groups) its would be like:example: _Spy_ that signifies your rank amoung the society. And if you see a _Spy_Sharpshooter, that's me.

Summary: The Island of Dr. Moreau
Review: This game is one of the most graphically stunning games i have seen in a while. Combining one animal with another( only two, no more). You can have a Rhino with Cheetah legs, A whale with bat wings and invincible army of mutations. You are Rex Chance and u are set after your long lost father after receiveing a letter from him, only to find that he has created some technology called sigma that combines animal dna. It has fallen into the hands of Upton Julius and Rex just escapes thanx to a quick rescue. Thats where the game starts. The gameplay is awesome, u have in game zoom, a lot of the game focuses around the combining process of your creatures, so u have plenty of time for fine tuning. You are able to select maybe a special ability u want and the computer will fix it so u get the parts you need. If u want some information or anything about Impossible creatures, go to ...and check out the forums, just ask and anyone including myself will be willing to answer any question. Oh and once again, this game ROCKS!

Summary: Impossible Creatures
Review: This is an extremely easy, but fun game. Even though it is pretty easy, you can play the same mission over and over again. I beat the game on the hardest level about twenty times and didn't get bored. You can combine two animals together for a invinvible mutant army. It is much like Warcraft 3 or Armymen R.T.S. I highly recomend it for young and old players.
