Summary: Getting enough BANG for your gaming BUCK!!!
Review: TEST SYSTEM:
Gateway 1.8Ghz P4 (System)
512MB SDRAM (Memory)
64MB GeForce MX400 (Video)

I consider the original Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (MOHAA) to be one of the best First-Person-Shooter (FPS) gaming experiences ever to be put to market. Gaming primarily on my PC, I, like many others, was livid upon learning that Frontline would be released for console ONLY. Luckily the Spearhead Expansion pack came along to quench our thirst for more mind-blowing WW2 combat.

As someone who pays attention to his return on investment, I am often left to question the playable value of the games I have purchased. MOHAA took about a day to play through, but had significant replay value. I have played through MOHAA 6X at varying levels of difficulty, employing different tactical strategies each time. Return to Castle Wolfenstein (RTCW), and other titles in the FPS genre did not incur this kind of addiction and necessitated only 2 plays, the second typically to determine if the game was IN FACT as bad as it seemed the 1st time. MOHAA was well worth the $50.00 price tag and has provided more hours of enjoyment than most of my other FPS's combined.

Spearhead adds several new mission, weapon, and plot elements to the original, not to mention additional multiplayer options and maps drastically improving on MOHAA's original multiplayer that was outdone by RTCW's. The additional game-play added to an already exceptional title provides an excellent purchase incentive, but leaves this gamer feeling a little miffed when it comes to his checkbook. The new weaponry is satisfying and appropriate to WW2 historical records, and the addition of colored smoke grenades to your arsenal adds a distinct battle element that is especially useful in multiplayer. I was also thrilled that EA adds secondary attack capability to almost all small arms (pistol whipping and such), an element absent from MOHAA. However, I was able to complete all 9 single-player missions in one evening. Though enjoyable and appealing enough to necessitate a replay, the short length left me feeling a little shafted by EA, and I can't help but think the EA used MOH's name recognition to bump the price tag up from a typical $20.00 to almost $30.00.

The Good:
- 9 more single-player missions of typical MOH excellence
- Enhanced Multiplayer features
- Additional Weapons including Smoke Grenades
- The addition of game-play elements absent from the original(pistol whips, vehicle and gun turret acquisitions)
- Slightly enhanced graphic elements & action sequences
- In-game cut scenes

The Bad:
- ONLY 9 more single-player missions (3 hours - tops)
- OVERPRICED!!!

The Bottom Line:
Despite the substandard return on investment as compared to the original MOHAA, I would still have bought Spearhead, despite the price tag. As an outspoken advocate of the original title there was no decision to be made when it came to shelling out $30.00 for the expansion. Although, I firmly believe that other MOHAA advocates will question the value of their purchase as well. If you were not impressed by MOHAA, Spearhead will do nothing but add to that disappointment. I recommend you individuals, as misguided as you may be, skip this title. However, fans of the series who don't want to miss out on any action should be advised of the expansion's actual content while they are debating waiting for a price drop.

Invest wisely my friends. See you on the battlefield.

Summary: EXPANSION PACK
Review: For all the people that say that this is alot shorter than the original game it is because it is an EXPANSION PACK. No expansion packs are as big as the original for these games we like to call them sequels. For example Big Game Hunter 3 has an expansion pack just adding a couple guns and a couple new levels, but when you make a new game in this case Big Game Hunter 4 will be the only time you see the game close to the size of the original game. So sumerized this means in size wise expansion packs can be expected to be small, if you want a full size game wait for the sequel. I've never played the game so ignore my rating.

Summary: Spearhead - A Let Down
Review: With much anticipation after playing MOHAA, I purchased Spearhead as soon as it was available. I was disappointed with it in that it wasn't up to the standards of the original. Some of the battles are overly easy and others are overly difficult. There doesn't seem to be any consistency with the difficulty levels. I must say it was a let down after playing the original.

Summary: More of the best game of the year!!!
Review: Yes, we all liked Mohaa : Allied Assault...but will we like the expansion? The answer: YES, YES, YES. New models, new interface, new weapons, smoke-grenades, taunts, and some very well designed new maps for death matches AND Objective maps. The Objective maps make this game a multiplayer haven! The single player missions are as good as allied assault and are addicting to play! If you have Allied Assault....what are you waiting for!!! Awesome job to EA for a great expansion!!

Summary: Could've been 5 stars...........
Review: but this game just doesn't have enough content. Only 9 new missions and some of them are very short. You do get 12 new multiplayer maps, but most of them are very small which has resulted in alot of spawn killing which tick off alot of people and a couple of the new maps have so much stuff going on that it lags like crazy, even on a cable modem which is what I have. But I really like some of the new maps better than the most of the old ones (too bad they don't do what Half-Life did and give you a map maker. I had over 200 maps on that game and it kept the game fresh for me for over 3 years). As for the single player mission, though it is short, it is also very intense and actually pretty hard. Overall, I thinks this is worth it, but maybe not for the price it started out at. There just isn't enough here to warrant that.

Summary: Nice, but WAY too short!
Review: This expansion falls far short of the great game Medal of Honor. The missions are far too linear. The biggest gripe by far though is that there are only 9 new missions. That wouldn't be so bad, but these missions are extremely short compared to the originals in MoH. The graphics get a boost, but that doesn't make up for the glaring lack of content. I am extremely disappointed. What a let down! Save your cash and wait a couple months and pick this title up out of the bargin bin...

Summary: Good Gameplay, But Waaaayy Too Short!
Review: This expansion pack is as fun and immersive as the stand-alone MOHAA, but you can easily finish it in about 3 hours (including breaks). The missions are very linear and fast-paced, letting you can whip through it in no time at all, leaving you a bit, if not a lot, unfullfilled at the end. When I was done I was a bit suprised - I actually said "is that all?" out loud. Frankly, for $$$, I expected a bit more depth and playing time. The time you do spend playing the game is very entertaining, but its like playing an arcade game - your quarter doesn't get you very far. Or in this case, your $$$. Bottom line, this expansion pack is $$$ worth of good, honest, entertaining gameplay, not a bloated $$$. I would wait for the price to come down. Oh yeah, I had one pretty significant installation bug which required a visit to EA's FAQ page to solve..

Summary: Makes a good game better...
Review: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault was one of my favorite games to be released this year, and it's fabulous single player campaign was an amazing experience. However that is where the fun stopped while I abandoned what I thought was a pretty average multiplayer package for games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Thankfully, Spearhead has not only given me a new single player campaign (from the perpective of a member of airborne) spanning D-Day to Berlin, but adds new multiplayer features.....which make an average multiplayer mode awesome. New weapons, new maps, and the main reason to buy Spearhead....Tug-O-War mode. This new multiplayer game mode is what the original lacked: a multiple objective, team based assault mode. Now all those hours in other games multiplayer packages are spent enjoying the new features of this great expansion pack. Highly recommended to fans/owners of the original MOH.

Summary: pointless
Review: This is the MOST POINTLESS game EVER. The levels are boring.

Summary: Too Little Too Fast
Review: Spearhead was rushed out too fast and not enough good stuff was put in. MOHAA was the best FPS out there, but the greedy guys over @ EA Games messed it all up w/this expansion pack. Gameplay is REALLY short, and multiplayer gets a B becausethe Tug Of War maps were cool. New guns really didn't make a difference in gameplay, and could have been put out in a patch. Graphics definitely went down, and you never even get to use the American weapons except for the first level. If you liked MOHAA, buy it, but buy it REALLY cheap.
