Summary: Best Game I've Played
Review: If I was to own only one game, this would be it. Everything about this game is so far ahead of "ANY" other software! If you enjoyed "CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN" then "RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN" will blow you away. I would reccommend it for anyone 15 years or older. Of corse this is my opion and some younger players could enjoy it also. It is a little bloody even gory from time to time but that is part of the game play. But you won't find a better playing game content or one that scrolls as good either. Hey you know you want this game. SO GET IT NOW and enjoy it NOW!

Summary: Very Good Game....
Review: Return to Castle Wolfenstein contains all the elements of a well-made first person shooter. If you love killing nazi's and completing fun missiong without too much difficulty then its wonderful. I really enjoy the game and am sure you will too. The WWII theme is great for history lovers and missions are detailed and exciting. This game does a wonderful job of bringing you into the action, and putting your own life on the line. Easy mode is great for those without much gaming skill. Buy it and have fun!

Summary: AAA+ Game
Review: First off, my machine:
Dell Dimenstion T800
PIII 8000
640 MB RAM
32mb GeForce

The game was a tad slow to install, though it was partially my machine's fault- 15x CD drive, and that it's a big game.
Other than that, the game, sound, video, and even multiplayer have been rock solid.
The single player game itself is borrowed from many different places (I kept thinking "The Mummy" while playing the catacombs level), but Id and Gray Matter did a good job hashing these elements into a good game.
The multiplayer is, in my oppinion, better than similar Half-Life products not only because of the better graphics, but because you have more options and really do need to be a cohesive team to play well (no lone guns here)

A note: For those of you comparing RtCW to Max Payne:
I would like to point out that Payne may run fine because it has lower system requirements than does Wolfenstein.

The only thing I did not like, really, was the encridible wait time for this game! I only got it Friday (Dec. 7) even though it came out Nov. 23, and I'd had a copy back oredered since May 15.
It was worth it, though.

Summary: Return To Castle Wolfenstine
Review: RTCW(Return To Castle Wolfenstine) is one the the best fps(first person shooters) for the P.C.. It is the sequal to the first FPS of all time(and the best). I played Wolfenstine 3-D a lot and so what do you thjink i did the day RTCW came out? yeah. This game does not capture that same feeling that the original did. The SIngle player game is good even though you never hear the main guys voice but the multiplayer verision is the reason to get this. RTCW has hardly any similarities to wolf 3-d and it seems more like half life than wolf 3-d did. however this is still good. Id rather however have more weapon choice. If you own Wolf 3-D, Hal-Life or Red Faction that this will just be another soso game. However if you dont have any of those and want to try something new then get this game. (the multiplayer game is EXELENT)

Summary: Agreed - video compatibility issues...dont blow [your money]!
Review: I have a pretty up to date system, but Castle Wolfenstein wouldn't run--video issues. I went to the company's website and this is a known bug.

They suggest several ways of fixing the problem: 1) buying another video card (the list of supported video cards isn't listed on the box I don't think! 2) changing the display of your computer to 640x480 and using 16 bit color 3) editing your configuration files

I hesitate to change my system's parameters for the sake of any game, nevertheless, I did try to change my system to 640x480 and it didn't work. I'm even less likely to go out and purchase another video card--especially when they're giving out three different answers.

[At] the store where I purchased Wolfie...they told me that since the package was opened, they could only exchange the software for the SAME thing. They told me to go to the company that made it for a refund. Looking at the customer support at the back of the manual, they say to go to retail outlet. I called back [the store] and told them that the way I saw it, we had a contract...I gave them money...and in return I got a game. Instead I got a useless CD. Grudgingly, they made an exception and I got a refund.

A day later and my email to the company has gone unanswered...but what did I expect, eh? I think they should have tested this game under more platforms than they did. Also, I bought the game to play--not hack config files. My system uses true color and a higher resolution--I don't know why the game won't play with that.

I recommend that you double, triple check with the company that makes this software for a guarantee that your system will truly run this game--otherwise you might be out [the purchase price]!

Review: Return to Castle Wolfenstein
by Activision seems to be a follow up to Activision's popular titles. Remember when Resident Evil series came out? Wow. everyone was impressed by the creepy effects. Have you played Metal Gear on Playstation 2? Remember you can blow up the walls. and of course Quake which is a popular game. Anyway this game in my opinion is a mix of Resident evil/ Medal gear on Playstation 2 and Rogue Spear/Quake. Not only is there creepy events in the Game that will make you jump but you also try to get enough ammo to kill enemys. you Waste ammo fast trying to kill fire demons, monsters with shields, and monsters that attack you via evil magic. Not only that but this game reminds me of the Indiana Jones movies. you have to avoid spikes, blade saws, and walls that close automatically. Anyway I don't want to give you all the cool features of this game. you just have to buy this game to see for yourself. Anyway I'm not into games that much but this game and it's features has interested me to the point where I can't stop playing it. Anyway if you like resident evil, rogue spear, quake, etc go ahead and buy this game. it's worth the price. But beware this game is very hard and challenging. However I would not suggest buying this game if your sensitive to blood, gore and violence. Also if you have a condition where you don't like horror effects. then forget about this game. It's to much for you to handle:0). Like I could go on and on about all the cool features of this game but you need to buy it and play it to get the awesome effects of this game. Also this game is a long game.. you beat the first level and you can't wait to see the next level, the levels and weapons get better once you beat each level you find a new weapon of some kind? Also you can find secret areas and find gold, treasure. At the easiest level of difficulty It's still a challenge and will get your mind all confused in this game. Like zombies and enemys raise from the dead and attack you. When you play this game pay attention to details on walls and where your walking, If you don't pay attention to this advice you will be attacked without knowing what attacked you? and how to prevent it from happening again. I'm going to give you some advice for doing well in this game. First of all focus on detail on walls, objects, lockers. statues, etc.. don't get to close to statues:0) and if the area looks creepy and there's no enemys in sight pay attention to walls and get your flame throwers, grenades out so you can destroy a bunch of enemys coming out of coffins, walls, etc. just be aware and don't think you are safe because there's no enemys in view. they creep up on you. This is a game where you have to save your game when your health is full to past this game. so every time you have 100% health save your game. Also I Believe this game will be game of the year! because of it's graphics and the amazing details and effects activision put in this game. this is a personal treasure for those who like violent, scary games. This game is not suitable for those who are sensitive to violence or those under 15 should get parental advisory before buying this game or already into violent games.

Summary: Words cant describe it
Review: Years ago I played castle wolfenstien on an Apple IIe. I moved up to the cartoonish graphics years later on an Ibm Compatible pc. Now I can see the Nazis running around as if "thinking" on their own. When I shoot they run away for cover! The graphics are awesome, as well as the music sound track that keeps your blood pumping. If you like first person shooting games you have to own this one! It definetley deserves the Mature rating, the opening "movie" itself has some heads comming off!
I like it!

Summary: My New Favorite Game of All Time
Review: This game is simply awesome. One part X-Files, one part Indiana Jones, but all Wolfenstein. If you think you'll be stuck in a dungeon for the whole game, you're in for a surprise. Each level is better than the one before it. The graphics and effects are incredible. The weapons are numerous and varied, and your computer opponents act almost like real people. The story is engaging, and makes you want to keep playing just to find out what is going to happen next. Wolfenstein is hands-down my favorite FPS, and is heading toward being my favorite game of all time . . . at least until Jedi Outcast is released!

Summary: Kinda like a can of Pringles
Review: Addictive to say the least. This game's greatest feature is the mutliplayer missions, but not by far the only plus. I was a Quake3 player thru most of college, but now I'm afraid I might lose my job if I don't throw this one away.

Return was based on the Quake3 engine. The textures and graphics have been improved immensly. The feel for the game is a dark WW2-, crawling thru the dark passages and mud-, bullets flying over head-style feel, exactly what the developers were aiming for. The realistic textures make you want to reach out and feel the cold walls and brush the mud off your pants as you get up.

The only Con I see so far is that the net coding still seems a little shaky compared to other FPS games. Of Quake3's faults, that was the biggest one and it hasn't seemed to improve much. This means that when you get lag, you will notice people seem to teleport and you will dance around in directions that you didn't want to go. If you have a DSL or Cable, I'd say you don't have to worry.

All in all, this game is definitively worth a hundred hours of gameplay in my book.
