Summary: This Game Sucks.... NBA Live 2003 Rocks!
Review: Do not buy this game Nba Live 2004... It's not good at all, IT SUCKS... Players don't look good... User's Players' are not faster as Computers'... You will probably miss an easy open shot when you need it... Players don't dunk good... I hated this game so much... NBA Live 2003 is an awesome game... In NBA Live 2003 Your players are faster and good shooter and also good dunker... NEVER EVER BUY THIS NBA LIVE 2004.. I like NBA Live 2003 better than this one... I think EA Sports are getting worst as time goes becuase I tried NHL 2003 and NHL 2002.. but NHL 2002 is much better than NHL 2003.. I also tried FIFA 2000 and FIFA 2002 and in this case FIFA 2000 is much better than FIFA 2002.. EA Sports needs improvement in their games especially in NBA Live 2005

Summary: devotion to mediocrity
Review: Ea sports has done it again. they've produced another overhyped, overrated, and overbought game. not that i'm an easports hater....i buy this game every year; and am more disspointed every year. easports introduces some spectacular new features each year, while taking away several that it had last year or the year before. the end resut it another mediocre game.

on the good side, this year is probably the best nba live i have ever seen. the freestyle is much improved, for once, the players actually shoot halfway realalistic percentages, and the 10 man thingy is incredible. there are struggles for loose balls, incredible graphics and a much improved franchise mode.

but the franchise mode...as good as it is, that's where the flaws start. the computer led teams never have the money to resign thier superstar players. this means that tim duncan and every other good free agent will, after a year or two, will not be resigned by thier team, or signed by any other team, and will spend the rest of thier career as a free agent. do you want a franchise where all the good players never get on a team (unless you sign them, making your team an incredible powerhouse every year...which you CAN do). you'd think easports would make a franchise mode where the GOOD players get on the teams.

also, the computer pretty much lets you destroy it for the first 3 quarters, only to put together an amazing comeback victory (or near victory) in the fourth...EVERY time. seriously. i'm talking 20 point leads gone (frequently). this happens EVERY time...and not just to me.

here are the other flaws: it is nearly impossible to go up for a shot and then change to a pass, it sometimes forgets to sub the guys you told it to, people "wrestle" for the ball WAY too often, the game has a little place to see how much your players improved in trining camp, and it is ALWAYS "0", crossovers don't get you to change direction, and are generally a bad idea to do, trading players is very akward (it's hard to see how good the other player is, how much he's improving, how much time is left on his contract, etc.).

the good: they are actually (kind of) trying this year. having two shoot buttons is awsome. trading draft picks is great, gameplay is great for the mostpart, almost everything is adjustible (gamespeed, fatigue effect, ect.)

in the end, this game comes close to being REALLY good...and with a few minutes of extra work, they could have done it. but that's the amazing thing...now that the end is clearly in sight, now that they are actually trying to be good, they stop just short of it. and nothing other than some sort of secret pledge to mediocrity could have kept them from doing so.

Summary: Other reviews suck bad....!!
Review: First, let me say that this is a good game. Yes, there are some good and bad points about it which I'll cover, but first I would like to express what ****ing dumb***es Terrible and Manos are for writing their reviews. They should be removed. Ok, first the pros:

Pros
1. Good graphics of the players faces (not created players, but the real players)
2. Excellent control using the jump stop.
3. More realistic looking dunks and blocks.
4. As usual, the create a player.
5. Commentary by Marv and the Czar (which I hate that nickname, it's so stupid).

Cons
1. Very seldom do you get an offensive rebound. The opponent usually holds you down.
2. Defense recovers from jumping to block a shot very quickly.
3. Computer's players are much much faster then yours.
4. Bobcats not available in dynasty (why the **** would you include them?
5. NO CHEERLEADERS!! This is my biggest f***ing problem with this game. NBA LIVE 2000 was awesome b/c it had Jordan AND YOU HAD AN AWESOME HALFTIME SHOW WITH REAL CHEERLEADERS THAT WERE HOT AS HELL!!

Now, yes you do have to get back on defense. Those other dumbas*es were whining b/c the comp fastbreaks on them. Well duh, if you don't get back on defense, what do you expect sh*thead?

Summary: PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I bought this game last week and there is a serious virus attached to CD 2 that comes out when loading! The virus causes the game to lock up your system-ctrl-alt-del and task manager do not work during the lock up. I unplugged the system and tried to reboot and get a blank black screen now. My ststem will not load up in safe mose or any of the other default boot modes. I scanned the disk in another computer I have access to and found there is a virus detected on disk 2. The EA tech support board reflects this problem as well if you don't believe me. This game just ruined a brand new system-do not buy this thing whatever you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Summary: Terrible.
Review: I don't normally write reviews, but this game was so bad that I felt as if I had to send a warning to all those out there that are considering buying this. This is the most infuriating and broken game I have ever had the misfortune of coming across (let alone shelled out thirty bucks for). I was rather pleased upon reading the reviews that I am not the only one who has physically destroyed my CD's (for the record, it felt REALLY good doing so, and I recommend it to all frustrated buyers of this game. Sure, you're basically throwing away your money, but the game is atrocious anyway -- your money was wasted as soon as you got NBA Live).
A few of the reasons why destroying it was one of the most satisfying moments of my life:
1) As soon as you miss a shot, the opposing players are back on the other end for a (usually uncontested) fastbreak. Not only is this unrealistic, but it's maddening for any gamer because there is nothing that he/she can do to stop it, no matter what his skill level is or who he's playing with.
2) The CPU regularly comes back from 40, 50, even 60 point defecits, and strings together 20-0 runs before you can blink an eye.
3) Six foot point guards like Steve Nash suddenly become shot-blocking fiends -- more than a few dozen times have my guards gone up for jumpers to have them sent back -- to make things even more ridiculous, the shot-blocker almost always gets control of the ball afterwards ... then goes on to lead another fastbreak.
4) Graphically, it was a lot less impressive than some reviewers have claimed it to be. Players' jerseys often had the wrong names on them (there's something unnerving about playing against the Spurs and seeing "Nowitzki" on Tony Parker's back).
5) Control-wise, it was annoying that the steal and layup buttons were the same. Many times have I tapped the steal button on defense, only to have my player immediately launch a sixty foot floater immediately after taking the ball away.

I am currently planning to send an envelope to EA containing the shattered remains of my game and an angry letter demanding a refund. It's truly a pity that the only NBA game available for the PC is this disaster. For the sake of your nerves, your time and (most importantly) your money, I STRONGLY advise everyone to stay away from this. I also recommend to fellow unfortunate or misled souls who have already taken the plunge and gotten it: do the same as I did and tell EA how truly terrible NBA LIve 2004 is. Maybe, just maybe, they'll even take a hint and release something worthwhile in its place next year.

Summary: Magnifico
Review: I haven't played this game since NBA Live 98, and man it really has chanced a lot. I have a 128MB video card, kind of expected awesome graphics, but I wasn't impressed, for that 4 stars.

In sound I give it 5 stars. Cool soundtracks. I just love Mr. Albert saying "three pointer... Yes!"

The gameplay requires more thinking, is not as easy as dunking everytime you want. Now you have to run plays to score.

This is a must have game!

Summary: Only one flaw
Review: I loved this game just like the 2003 and 2001 versions, I would hate to add up the hours spent on it. This year there is one flaw (that occured int he past two versions as well)

When the game is on the line and Im down by 2, i WANT TO FOUL! But I cant. The computer does this all the time, but users cant. It is very annoying. I feel that this is the only flaw and hope that it can be fixed for 2005

Summary: The PS2 version must be better than pc if you say pc's bad.
Review: I recieved NBA live for Christmas and I'm loving it. Here are the cons and pros:

cons: 1. You can't create a team
2. It's so hard to complete offensive rebounds.
3. Sometimes the computer guys will all of the sudden cut right through you but there's usually someone there to block him

pros: 1. You can edit players and make them as good as you want.
2. I can score more than 300 points on the rookie level in 48-minute games and you can too.
3. The legends pool is so great even though I wish they'd have George Mikan, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, and Kareem Abdul-Jabar.
4. I can make Ben Wallace block more than 20 shots a game and you can too.
5. You can choose any NBA arena to play in for any NBA team
6. I can make 75% free throw shooters shoot 99% from the line in one season and you can too.
7. I can make my players all shoot in the 60s and 70s and you can too.
8. I've made John Stockton steal the ball 35 times in one game and you can too.
9. I've made Michael Jordan score 120 and you can too.

I'm not trying to brag, my point is that it's so easy that if you don't like challenges (but if you do there are some hard levels too)You can all do as good as what I've done. I recommend this game to all NBA fans. Because they give all of the season awards in dynasty mode (unlike nhl).

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Gamer Man
Review: If I could give this game ten stars, I would. Nba Live 2004 is the best B-Ball game yet. With a well created dynasty mode, and great gameplay, this game gets two thumbs up. It is hard to find a great B-Ball game in stores, but you are bound to run into this marvelous game.

PROS:
Great Gameplay, better dynasty, and great commintators.
CONS: May have trouble installing if you have a XP or WIN 98.
