Summary: Better than the hype
Review: Graphics are amazing - the camera control is great - go stand near a canyon and look down, it is truly a wonderful sight.
The skill progresion is interesting - I like that you are not limited to only playing as a fighter or a mage you can mix it up when needed.
The action is instant - there are aspects that remind me of Myth.
Well worth the cash - will be a classic.

Summary: Nice graphics, shame about the game
Review: Having battled my way through about 12 hours of gameplay over the last few days, all I can say is I'm rather disappointed. The graphics are great as most people have pointed out, but there is just no gameplay at all. Rather than giving us a "living, breathing world to explore", the actualy in-game world is completely linear. Rather than giving us a variety of quests we just click on monsters, kill them and get treasure. Sure there are four different ways to kill them (melee, ranged, combat magic and nature magic) but a RPG that does not make. Many comparisons have been made to Diablo 2, but in terms of gameplay his is almost a step backward. There are fewer skills and spells than Diablo 2, and unlimited ammo for bows makes the game oddly unbalanced. There are several other minor issues but I wont go into detail. These include restricted camera movement, the overhead map being too small, strange behaviour at level-up meaning that your character suddenly cant cast spells, dodgy AI etc but I guess most of these will be fixed in a patch sooner or later. As per most modern games, you can create mods and Dungeon Seige uses the Seige Editor and the GMax 3d system from Discreet (a cut down version of the popular 3D Studio Max system). Although I havent played around with the editor yet, it sounds promising and I hope that 3rd party mods will be available to make the single player experience the game that Dungeon Seige should have been.

Summary: this game rocks!
Review: Go buy this game it is the coolest! It has an awesome battle system in real time and the graphics are pretty nice. the storyline is okay and at times if not on easy it can get very hard, but it is just so cool! It is a little pricey but it is definately worth the money!

Summary: very boring, very linear, very big let down.....and more....
Review: Thi game was bought by a few friends and myself mostly for the cool dungeon siege creator/editor. IT IS NOT IN THE GAME.
MICROSOFT SAYS IT IS COMING SOMETIME.... B.S.
This game is boring, straight-forward, and just...boring.
What's worse, there are a million cheats and hacks and microsoft could care less. The game play is very linear: fight forever, level up once in awhile, get items slightly better than u have already, beat more slightly harder things down. I have gamed since atari....and this comes as a major league disappointiong game. I believe some of the very favorable reviews for this game were also written B4 the game was available too....so believe them at your own risk.
Overall, nice graphics, nice panning, and 3-D....NO character development, NO uniqueness in characters...all weapon and spells merely heal/buff/do more damage the highere they get and look a tiny bit more impressive. NO uniqueness in monsters.
This game is like the arcade gauntlet legends game really....just with items available and it misleads you into believing it is more. It isn't. Buy Gauntlet instead (at least it was the first game in its genre, this isn't)...if that is what you want. Buy this only if you're bored of Diablo2 and don't mind hack/cheats galore.
1 star people...seriously.

Summary: YAWN
Review: I really should have listened to the diablo comparison. This game is beautiful, but DULL. You go through the motions with little input. It is not challenging and there is no point. If you enjoy fighting battles just to watch characters gain levels then you will love this game, but if you wanted story, background and interesting characters and subplots you had better keep looking. Beware the long poetic reviews on any board, they are almost all written by employees of the games mfg, part of their PR departments offical job.

Summary: Best 3D world of any RPG!!!!
Review: This game has the best 3D world of any RPG-type game to date. The sound is also the best of any RPG I've played to date. Talk about atmosphere! Hook up a surround sound system and a big monitor and it is quite an experience. It is really amazing. This game totally engulfs you.

I like the combat system. The controls are fairly automated during combat. You click on an enemy one time and your character(s) will swing at it til it's eliminated (or you're eliminated). Further, the controls during combat are also responsive enough that you can retreat during combat if you need to and your faster than your opponents.

The interface is very straight-forward. You can cycle through your close and long-ranged weapons as well as your spells all with the same button. Very intuitive.

This game is like Diablo, but 3D. It is quest-based and very simple to pick up and go. No huge manual. No menus take up too much real estate.

This is a fantastic addition to the world of RPG gaming. If Blizzard doesn't release anything this year, this will be the best RPG of 2002.

Summary: Horrible disappointment..
Review: This game seemed like it might be fun when you read the reviews, but let me assure you that overall this game is horribly boring.

Good things: excellent graphics, good sound, and simple control over characters.

Bad things: boring story, no real character development through roleplaying, the most base and uninteresting character creation process, and a terrible character advancement system.

Please, don't waste your money, do not buy this game, and stop anyone you know from buying it. They'll just waste their money and be stuck with an incredibly boring RPG, if you could call it that. I know I'm being harsh, but I've never been so sorely disappointed by an RPG as I was with this one.

Summary: Very Good Game
Review: If your a fan of the Diablo or Baldurs Gate series then you should do yourself a favor and check out Dungeon Siege. This game is basically a cross between Diablo and Baldurs Gate and incorporates features from both games. This game adds new twists on the RPG genre when in that in most RPG's you choose whatever class you want to be from the start and cannot change. In Dungeon Siege this is not so. Your skills and classare determind by how you play.My favorite feature of the game is the fact that once you are inside the game world you do not have to load additional levels. Gone are the loading between levels of Diablo and the disc swapping of Baldurs gate. This is a very good game and one that you will not regret buying.

Summary: Incredible Let Down..........Save your money.
Review: After months of reading about the upcoming Dungeon Seige in several computer gaming magazines I was really looking forward for it to come out. Supposedly Chris Taylor (Dungeon Seige's developer) was creating the ultimate RPG. It was to be graphicaly stunning and void of the elements that he didn't like in other role playing games. I was somewhat in agreement with him that reading through pages of dialog can get boring in some games, and the graphics did look great in the previews...<...The game has no depth of character or story, and no real tactics involved with battles. Click..click..click and the little people you care nothing about wander around, hacking up enemies in battles that you don't really control. Keep your eyes on everyone in your party in a fight, because one of them may very well be just standing around being pummeled and not doing anything to fight back (even with "attack freely" selected). The pack mule seemed like a good idea, expanding your inventory to bring back more treasure, until you find out that you get paid close to nothing when selling your junk after the long hike back to town. It's easiest to see where you're heading by viewing the party from above in the "mega-map" mode. It was while playing this way that I realized that Dungeon Seige is basically a really bad version of the old arcade game Gauntlet, wrapped in a pretty 3-D shell with a few RPG elements thrown in for good measure. Save yourself some money and wait for a new title from Bioware or Blizzard to come out.

Summary: Mindless but addictive fun
Review: Dungeon Siege (DS) is a combat-oriented RPG. You can compare it with Diablo 2 and a bit with IcewindDale. The big difference between Diablo 2 and DS:
- DS has great 3D graphics compared with the relativley simple 2D graphics in Diablo 2.
- The most impressive feature is the continuous, integral world: you do not get loading screens with DS. You can change from indoor to outdoor locations and vice versa without the game having to load a new area.
- DS lets you control up to 8 characters so there is a lot more strategy involved than in Diablo 2's combat which consists mailnly of mouse-clicking.

DS has a very comprehensible interface. It'll only take a couple of minutes to get into the game. And it's very difficult to stop playing!
Don't expect a intricate storyline, complex quests, open-endedness or NPC interaction. If you'll like that, wait for a game like Morrowind. DS is just mindless, combat-oriented RPG fun. And it's very, very good at that both in singleplayer and multiplayer modes.
