Review: one thing about this game I don't like is your recon missions
you have to fly to close for a recon mission in some cases you will get shot down.

Summary: BEST HELICOPTER FLIGHT SIM EVER
Review: To say the least this simulator is the BEST. Its Graphics are excellent and AI is Very Good. This simulator has a somewhat eerie reality to it. Although to get the most fun out of it I highly suggest that you also have Enemy Engaged Apache Vs. Havoc installed so that when playing Comanche Vs. Hokum you can also fly the AH-64D Apache for the USA or the Mi-28N havoc-B For Russia, also having Apache Vs. Havoc allows you to fly in 6 different campaigns all over the world from the Middle East to The Jungles of Eastern Asia to small island of Cuba, in any of the 4 Combat Helicopters. Comanche Vs. Hokum also provides much better control over your wingmen than any other combat simulator I have ever experienced. You have about 20 different radio commands, including 6 different formations for your flight group, as well as 16 different mission types. Also there are so many different types of aircraft in the game, assault, recon, attack, transport helicopters on both sides, as well as numerous 'fast movers' such as AV-8B's, F-16's, F-18's, A-10's, C-130's, C-17's and that is just for the Americans, the Russians have: Attack, Recon, Assault, Transport, Russians also use 'fast movers' such as Su-25's, Mig-29's, Yak-41's Su-27, as well as a variety of Heavy lift Fixed wing transports.
But one of the things that I love the most is the Ground war that is constantly going on. Even when you are not actively engaged (or even flying) AI troops are 'sluggin it out' on the ground and in the air, although this may not directly affect YOU it may in the future... meaning a lack of fuel, or ammo during later missions.
Once again I will say that this simulator is THE BEST that there is. It is totally worth the small amount of money that you pay for it, Remember this little box can provide hundreds of hours of relentless entertainment.

Summary: Couldnt get it to work, Customer care no help
Review: Well, I went out and bought this game, installed it into my windows ME machine, 800mhz, 256 Ram, 64M video card..all looked good to me, but program wont run at all. Customer support says "We don't know if it works with Windows ME" I would think this would be something they should know! Bottom line is, I am taking it back and waiting for comanche4 to come out.

I still have no idea why it wont work. Very frustrating to talk to customer service that doesn't even know what they are talking about!

That in itself tells me to look elsewhere for good product with good support.

Summary: The best helicopter sim on the pc
Review: When i bought this game I didnt even want it, it came with another game that I did want. But when i installed this I was blown away, this game the $hit. You can either pilot an American Commanche or a Russian Hokum, personally I prefer the Commanche. The controls take getting used to but the flying and the combat are wonderful, it has a complete and detailed manual and the game is very accurate. The graphics are the best part, they make combat flight simulator 2 look like an atari game, the system requirements are low and it runs on windows xp. This game is highly underrated and it is unfortunatley an overlooked gem that deserves more attention.

Summary: Great gameplay and graphics but it got old quite fast
Review: When I went game shopping at (a retail store), I saw this cover which caught my eye. I went home to check the reviews, all of which said it was a great game. I went back the next day and bought it. I excitedly brought it home to find it was an instant hit.

But like most fads, it faded away quickly. If they had put in more sounds besides the hum of the engine, it would have been more exciting. Also, if they added more gameplay styles besides wait 5 minutes on 4x speed increase with the autopilot, shoot a couple of times, turn around, wait another 5 minutes on auto pilot, then repeat it over and over. This is not a game for excitement.

This is a game for realism. Every single graphic in the game was realistic. The physics were realistic, difficulty had the option of being realistic, and the war was realistic.

What really kept me going was the fact that it was a war simulation. You could watch the whole war and effect the outcome. Unlike most flight sims, there aren't "levels," or seperate missions which seperated the excitement of battle. You can choose your mission, and the battle keeps going every second.

Overall, this game was excellent, but the repetition was annoying.
