Summary: buggy, buggy, buggy! gives "Star Trek" a bad name
Review: I'm sure all of you who think it's fun to play actually got the stupid thing to LOAD on your computer, as I did - but every time I tried to launch a game, the darn thing would shut down on me! I didn't even get to play it. It got trashed real quick. Don't waste your money on this buggy game. Don't you think they'd work all the bugs out BEFORE they put a game on the market???? I guess the name "Star Trek" sells itself!

Summary: Your First Star Fleet Command
Review: If you ever wanted experience starship command with out attending starfleet this game is the one for you. It is very user friendly. Fantastic graphics, camera shots and selection of mission configurations. The battles are intense!! Without a doubt this the best game I have played. You will not regret buying one. I guarentee!

Summary: Best Star Trek Game ever !!!!!
Review: If your looking for action, great graphics, epic battles then you have found the game. Dominion Wars takes place during the DS9 Dominion war. Command up to 6 ships on mission from easy to insanly hard !! You can play as either the Federation or the Dominion and how you play determines the fate of the Alpha Quadrant. You can play this game with your friends via internet or network connections. Control and graphics are the best and you can even import ships from Starship Creator (I & II). Even though I finished I started over. Its a good game !!!!!!

Summary: A dog.
Review: Just a terrible game. I've played Starfleet Command, which I like (but it is not perfect). Starfleet offers great tactical control but really poor strategic control. This game lacks both. I've won and lost missions not knowing why. One really does not feel any control over ships. The user interface is clumsy, limiited, and totally unexplained. The game comes with no manual, and the readme lacks any explinations either. The game has a tutorial, much like sitting in a class that explains how to use a computer without letting you turn one on--i.e., the tutorial is a "sit and watch" as opposed to an interactive "do". (In my book Freespace has the very best tutorial). The graphics don't cut it, being very unpolished in feel. They are second rate. The music is boring. The story is well, boring too. Finally, the game has absolutely no strategy. I'm not a big RTS fan, but I'd like some strategy. The only strategic aspect is that you pick out your ships and captains prior to a mission, after you hear the mission objectives. Big deal. If you lose a mission, its game over. A real strategy game gives you consequences to failure and rewards to success; here your reward is to get to play another mission, and the consequence of failure is to start the game over. It's too bad, the story had so much potential having been told on TV. Wait for Bridge Commander is my suggestion. I sure wish I had. I really wish I had never bought it.

Summary: Finally!
Review: Star Trek titles have been known to be suitable for Star Trek fans that spend countless money to have the latest titles from this franchise. I have been upset in the past with previous Star Trek games that do not push the envelope of gaming technology. My feelings have changed since the release of Dominion Wars.

I have been waiting for this title because I felt that this is a long awaitied title that takes the Star Trek franchise to new gaming hieghts. For an extrateristrial Real-Time Strategy game, it has branched out into a new genre within an already popular genre.

The game looks unbelievable, once you get it running. The game play and graphics are intoxicating as you Warp and blast your enemies away. I would recommend this game but with very little reservation. I am sure the developers at Gizmo will do what is neccessary to make this game more enjoyable and operationable. By the time this review is posted by ... and I click the save button (June 19, 2001), I am sure the bugs will be killed and I will look for a challenger online so I can make them think about coming after me!

Summary: Addictive
Review: The game is actually rather good. the graphics are exellent and look like lower resolutions of the models on the show. However, they did mess up a few things and omitted some others which would have made the game better. "Starship Creator warp2" which came with my dominion wars and allegedly lets you import different designs of ships and captains was a complete debacle, the transfer of ships simply doesn't work. Within the game are 10 missions for each side which has the federation capaign extremely easy while the dominion campaign is on the other extreme. My first compaint is about the defiant which although looks good enough has inaccurate weapons (specifically quantum warheads) which are given to a different class ship, the steamrunner. Several patches are available but all the support for the game is gone. even the web site promoting it is no longer in service so don't go looking for support there. The akira ships are too weak without the 1.05 patch with enables the galaxy glass and akira to fire accurate #s of torpedoes for the ship. The game neglected to put in other federation ships such as the miranda or excelsior as well as intrepid and soveriegn class ships. except for the K'vortcha class vessel which seems to be a better bird of prey equiped like the defiant class but larger the klingons are almost completely ignored in this game and there should be a separate capaign for them as well as the Cardasians, (same deal)The klingons are too weak to use any of their ships and the cardasians are litterally droped mid campaign. The klingon bird of prey is useless against any ship and can't even inflict much shield damage on a freighter before being destroyed by a jem'hadar fighter. In contrast the dominion ships seem ept to crash into ships very easily (even when you don't want them to and so you are force to go at half speed).
Gamespy the alleged support for the multiplayer aspect of the game is also (my word for the day) a complete and udder DEBACLE!
Several times I've attempted to play it online and only worked when I decided to play online by myself, (to see if the import creator ships would work, they did not)Whats the point in that I could do that without being online. The game however was really good and with the 1.04 patch there is a shirmish game which I spend lots of time on.

Summary: Fun Game, Very Buggy, This Price is bogus
Review: The game is fun, but extremely buggy. The company gave up supporting it only a few months after its release. They never did produce any decent patches to fix the bugs.

Summary: Uncooked Pork
Review: This game has serious problems with the control inteface, sound, graphics and stablity. I like the gameplay when I can get it to run but that won't be more than 10 minutes. And then you can't be sure that your saved game will work.

I would wait until these serious issues are fixed before you buy the game
