Summary: Bugs everywhere
Review: I bought the game about a week ago and it has been cool for the most part. The game had way too many bugs though. There are so many that you cannot count them all. Also, for anyone with a ATI Mobility video card you cannot play the game. I have this card and I had too download a different driver that makes the game work, but it slows it down by 50%. I do not recommend this game to anyone. Maybe in a few months they will release a better version than this one. I am very angry that this game was not as good as it could have been.

Summary: This game stinks
Review: I bought this game because it was Star Trek. Also, it CLAIMED that it would work right on Windows 98. But, NO, when I first played it, it crashed, then when I went to XP, it worked but the cursor was slow as heck. Then, I went looking for the patch I needed, and it wasn't there, however there were what looked like dozens of other patches there. It was obsolete, they said. Well I guess I bought the game too late to get the patch then huh? Other than that, it's a good game (if it would work).
If you want to try it, go right ahead.

Summary: This game was horrible
Review: I got this game as when it came out and was very dissapointed. The graphics are fine but the gameplay is awful you can't control
your ship and you can't figure out what to do.

Summary: Man Cant Star Trek Get a break?
Review: I got this game yesterday. I must admit I was blown away by the grafics at first. Then I tried to play it for a while. It has a large amount of bugs. The load/save problem is rediculus. Especially when Your on mission four trying to blow up the sensor array. And allready hard mission made much worse when you have to restart the whole thing every time. Plus the interface is booring. I really was Quite upset. I'm returning the game this evening. I just wonder if the'll ever be a good Star Trek video game.

Summary: Comparing 3 star trek games
Review: I have already provided an earlier review of this game. Here is an addendum comparing Starfleet Command (SFC) vs Armada vs Dominion Wars (DW)- all of which I have played.

SFC

Pros
-larger variety in missions.
-you get to follow a starfleet career
-detailed control of ship systems
Cons
-too few ships per battle
-careers too short

Armada

pros
-good story animation sequences.
-fun to be able to play all sides as integrated part of the storyline.

cons
-terrible battle sequences- basically army troops posing as star trek ships so the ships fly in strange formations. The game is really Command and Conquer with star ship sprites.
-far too many campaigns and starts to get repetitive.
-2D sprites

DW
pros
-excellent big fleet battle sequences.
-beautiful graphics.
-high level control of ship systems.
cons
-Weak story animation sequences.
-Game gets repetitive.
-Problems running on some graphics cards.

Summary: Not worth a dime!
Review: I have purchased every Star Trek video game there is. This one is by far the worst. First, it is very unstable. I have the most recent patches installed but the damn thing will still not stay running. Second, the documentation is very poor. You are left on your own trying to figure out how to play. Third, tech support from the developers is non-existent.

I wish I could return it and get my money back.

Summary: I wouldn't know
Review: I just bought this game today after reading wonderful reviews about on this web site! It looked really cool on the box. I was, of course warned about the bugs, but I decided to take that risk. I installed it perfectly, but when I tried to play it it crashed. The person on the phone said I had to have some graphics card made in the past 6 or 7 months, which I didn't. So I tried to download the driver that I need, which took 30 minutes and it still wont work and there is nothing wrong with th cd, I am sure, no scratches or anything. My computer should be able to easily run it. I can already tell that this game is loaded with bugs. And I am not just trying to be a gripe, I am a big Star Trek fan and am usually tollerant with this sort of stuff, but this just frustrates me to death.I gave it three stars because I know it is fun(if you can play it). So make sure you have directX 8.0 and a new computer!

Summary: Horrible
Review: I was looking forward to getting a chance to play the game. When I first played it it was alright. I then noticed bugs. There are so many of them. When you save a game it sometimes loads instead of saving and locks the game up. Also you always have to keep a savefile when you are selecting your crew and ships. The reason for this is after you start your mission there is no way to go back and change your crew or your ship selection. I also found out that you can't control your ships fire. The computer atomatialy controls it unlike kilgon acdemy in, which you basicaly control everything. I was very disappointed about this game and I don't recomend it to anyone.

Summary: ABYSMAL
Review: I will only say that I've never played a worse game in my life. I'm a huge ST fan but this software creation (if that's what it can be called) is a smack across the face. To be more specific...
Highly unstable with countless software glitches, the game isn't even ripe for a beta test. Crashes, so-called patch releases that don't address problems (or vaguely so), and nearly nonexistent customer service shows that the developers were entirely money-oriented and tried to sell the title rather than to publish a product worthy of adulation. As far as content, game's simplicity is intolerably cruel. A deceiving 3D but in reality a 2D space is a major flaw, not to mention the by far imperfect adherence to the cannon starship specifications and in-game texturing. All you'll do as a "captain" is give one simple order and then sit back and relax while watching your ship(s) make repetitive and boring semi-circular motions which are supposed to be strategic maneuvers. Essentially, you do nothing and the game nearly plays itself.
Do yourself a favor and forget ordering it. You'll save yourself a great deal of frustration.

Summary: The best startrek game of all times Dudley, North Carolina
Review: I would give DS9 the dominion wars 10 stars if I could.I have version 1.03,and I have never added a patch. The game runs perfect in my computer, no Bugs, no crashes, whatsoever. I have a Gateway essential 400mhz, 320mgs random memory, Ati rage fury max pro video drivers, and sound blaster 128D sound card. Trust me I have all the star trek titles. I have had the Nvidia geforce2 32 bit mmx video card, I've had the ati radeon ve 64 bit video card, Neither one out performed the Ati rage fury max pro video chip. the Radeon was close. So I say to you, if you wish to run all the games, instead of some games, then please take my advice, get the ATI RAGE VIDEO CHIP SET. I've had windows me running 1200mhzs, window 98 second edition running 900 mhzs. Unless you get windows XP, you had better stick with windows nt,95. and 98. I have finished deep space 9 the dominion war, both the fed, and cardasian mission, all 20 missions are saved.
