Rating: Summary: Hype! Review: Well, we have another example of a game that is selling itself with hype and screenshots. First of all, the graphics are great, good, best. No dispute there. However...what is important in an RPG? Gameplay? Tactics? hohoho...there are none. You just keep clicking the mouse as fast as you can and the AI guys keep hitting as fast as they can. You move from room to room where monsters sit in one place and wait for you. The spell system is very bad. The game has much more action than the pen and paper game, so 80% of the spells are useless. Yes, you use your healing and maybe a few damage spells but there is absolutely no reason to use anything else. The stats...well, they seem complex but have a very small impact on combat, which I must say again, is devoid of tactics. The Group AI has some faults especially when ranged weapons are used (most felt in the modern day part) since your vampire friends will repeatedly shoot at walls without going around them to get a clear shot at the monsters. Story...I though it would be good, original, and immersive. I don't know how, but they managed to fail at doing that. It is very linear, predictable, not exiting, and is nothing like the vampire books that spawned the game. I have not and will not play the multiplayer game since in this combat system the speed of your mouse clicks determines your characters combat performance, and no story-teller, no matter how good he is, can fix this. Well? Do I think I am out of my mind? A few days ago, I would have thought the same. Alas, I bring you the sad truth. Vampire the Maskerade sucks and the people that made it should be ashamed of themselves for creating such a poor game. Still don't believe me? Check out the 'professional' reviews on sites like gamespot and they will tell you the same thing.
Rating: Summary: One of the BEST games to come out in a long time! Review: Too many great things to say about this game. Excellent story, Incredible graphics and sound, extremely engrossing. The hardware requirements aren't too steep either. I am playing with a PII 300 and the game runs and looks beautiful. Bottom line, Nihilistic has created a steller and amazingly addictive game.
Rating: Summary: Finally, Fangs for the RPG World! Review: For all of you who love RPG's, like I do, but are sick of the same old theme's Vampire will fulfill all of your dreams. This game rocks! The story is engrossing, and it changes each time you start a new game. Replay galore. The Quests are intriguing, and not too complicated. The combat is not as robust as it could be but that is because there is a plot here, and lots of little goodies to hunt for. The NPC development is great and they make for valuable company. The graphics are very well done, and general play will keep you going. I can only see two improvements that could be made to the game, but they are minor. One is that during combat the mouse moves to give you a wonderful panoramic view of the situation, but during the heat of battle you could get disoriented and lose some HP's because you are looking at the combat from a bad angle. Once you get the hang of it it wont be a big deal. The second thing is that the cinematics are often long and overdone, but they really do make the game more like a movie. One great thing is that this game starts out like a medieval RPG, but progresses to a modern day RPG like Fallout. Be careful sucking blood could be a habit! Buy it and you will be up very late. Have Fun!
Rating: Summary: VAMPIRE MASQUERADE Review: MISSED THE BETA TEST OF THIS BY 2 HOURS. PLAYED A BETA TEST OF IT ROUND A FRIENDS, GRAPHICALLY AMAZING THE GAMEPLAYS PRETTY GOOD TOO, WELL WORTH WAITING FOR. A MUST FOR ALL RPG FANS. A GAME THAT MAKES YOU FEEL PART OF IT!
Rating: Summary: Vampire the Masquerade Redemption Review: I saw a preview of this game and highly recommend it for women. There is a shortage of games that appeal to women but this one has major female characters who are as strong as the male roles. The artwork is stunning and the play is not only challenging but fun. I was impressed with the realistic action and the attention to the authenticity of the locales used for the game. I can't wait to play it at length.
Rating: Summary: Fun Review: This is a great game. Not only is it a fun RPG but being diferent clans gives it a great re play value. This is a perfect rpg and i strongly recomend it.
Rating: Summary: Live in the Darkness Review: When the Vampire game was released, i was a little worried. Could this game bring the atmosphere and the rules of the original RPG(like Baldur's Gate did with AD&D)? Or was just another simple game with a famous name just to sell more? Fortunely, my worries was in vain. Vampire: Redemption is a great game, with stunning graphics, great music and voices. The rules of the RPG was transported with great success to the game, altough you can't choose your favorite clan(Christof is a Brujah). There is some bad points about the AI(A hint: never put bows in the NPCs, because if a enemy is hidden behind a wall or something, because he begin to fire on the wall) and save system, but it can be fixed with upgrades(the 1.1 version, you can save anytime, anywhere). If you like vampires, or like RPG games, or a good game, you will enjoy it. It's anything more fun than feed of humans walking on the street!
Rating: Summary: About Editing Vampire TMR Review: I will not talk about the game playing, many others had already gave their opinion in detail about that. I prefer to talk about the Editing Tools of the game (NODSDK Tools: NOT editor, Embrace editor, Chronicle editor). This game was offered with the complete java code opened (except the graphic engine), you can manipulate, change and create many new things, like skins for your multiplayer characters (NOT editor and any graphical tool), new maps as playing scenaries (Embrace tool), new objects, creatures and items (NOT editor and programs like Milkshape), create new automatic or manual Quests that can be played in multiplayer (Chronicle editor) and, what is more interesting, they can be created new versions of the game (MODs) that make the game better than the original. Much of the problems commented by users in this review list have been completely revised and corrected time ago by the players with their efforts (Activision released a patch to correct some bugs, but after that, abandoned the game to the player community). One of the most interesting MOD is the WOD MOD (World of Darkness MOD) that recreates almost exactly the P&P game. The game has more than 4 years old, but it continously grows with the contributions of many people that play it and love it. Nowadays you can find lots of new materials in the web (www.vampdepobloodlines.com is a good place to visit and test part of the inmense contributions accumulated). This fact makes this game one of the richest games in Role playing, as it has been sustained by a player community working in an open code.
Rating: Summary: a vampire's tale Review: this game is pretty good. it isn't exactly the best but then again no games are. as an RPG, this game is fairly standard. the first hour or so is really boring, but once you become a vampire, things pick up rather nicely. i LOVE how you have vampiric abilities and are able to feed off whomever you see fit. this is the ultimate game for anyone who wants to live out their dream as a vampire. the story is good. the thing that i hate are the other characters in your team, maybe it's me, but the were annoying and got in the way. they didn't have terrible path finding, but they had some awkward moments. another thing that bothered me is that if you don't have control of A character, they usually go off attacking some monsters you might not be ready to attack, due to the nature of their vampiric ways or the character's build. overall, this game is fairly exciting, with something nice for lovers of RPGs and lovers of vampires.
Rating: Summary: If you love vampires Review: This game is such a wonderful game. It's funny when you suck someone's blood they moan. LOL. The story line is awesome. However, it is true that when you're online creating a story with other players it depends on how good the people who are hosting their own room are for that to be good. However, you can create your own storyline so if you don't like other people's rooms make your own!! I LOVE THIS GAME!! I want it to come out with a sequel sooooo bad!! I beat the game and I LOVED IT!! There are three different endings!!! I won't tell you what they are I'll just say please!!! SAVE YOUR GAME BEFORE YOU BEAT THE LAST BAD GUY IN THE GAME!!!!! That way you can see the other two endings...How to get the Ultra Happy Ending: Make sure your humanity is REALLY HIGH!!!! The Okay ending: Below 50 Humanity Bad bad ending: This may or may not be a spoiler I don't know, but to get a BAD ending say yes to the offer the bad guy gives you.
