Summary: Large Graphical Chat Room
Review: As a beta player from the beginning I have seen many changes occur within the Sims Online game. Some good, some not so good. Overall, if you just enjoy the career paths and designing your own property, playing with pets, etc. then you would do best to stay with the offline version of this game. If you enjoy chatting with others and making online friends, then purchase The Sims Online for it isn't really a game but the largest graphical chat room out there.

I give it 3 stars because it used to have a few objects that were mini games within the chat room. The maze was a fun one, a challenge that my friends and I enjoyed. As with all good things, it seems they do not last - hackers created programs around them so Maxis has disabled that. Before that, they took the code pay outs and changed them. I keep my multiple accounts with TSO simply because of the friends I have created.

If you want chatting and freindship purchase the Sims Online, if you want goals and actaul game play..... go elsewhere for the Sims Online will not provide that function.

Summary: The Sims Online New AND Improved!
Review: As a beta-tester of the game, I've seen it go through many phases, from the doldrums of March through May and the surge of new features in summer. However, the most exciting features I've seen thus far can be had in the package you are looking at on this page. Pets and Jobs give the game a renewed focus, and with 100,000 other players out there, you won't be alone in being a better you, or if you want to Be Somebody. Else. This game is in the Top 5 of MMOs, and is a fantastic title. The updates since launch have made it even better, and Maxis shows no signs of stopping. Two thumbs way, way up!

Summary: Good Concept, but Falls Short
Review: At first, TSO sounded like a great game. After I bought and played the game, however, it seems a little...well...pointless. You go around to other properties and make "money" by playing mini-games (that are strange, time consuming and not fun). Then you use the money to buy clothes, furninshings and building materials for a house. And then...not much happens after that. I wouldn't even categorize this as a game. There isn't really an obejct to it.
If you're considering buying the game to make friends and meet people, use AIM. TSO is the same concept except you see a fictional image of the person you're talking to. Not too exciting there. And all the interactions get really old after a few days...heck, the whole game gets old after a few days. Not to mention the monthly fee you have to pay to play. Definetly not worth it...

Summary: Love the new features
Review: Ever since the new version of TSO came out I have been addicted. I love the new features, especially the pets. my dog's name is Spike and he is a great watchdog, lol. just kidding he is the sweetest thing and would never do anything to hurt anyone. Well, I've got to get back to my game or I'll be late for work.

Summary: The Sims Online - A pleasure!
Review: First off, this is Delmer Eggert. This is his grandson, using his account to review the Sims Online.

When I first heard of the Sims Online about a year and a half ago, I was mildly interested in the game. Actually, it was about when my Sim craze took off when I bought the Deluxe Pack with the original game and its sequel.

So anyways, I read up on the game - researched it here and there, including Amazon. I found much negative response to this game and soon game up hope that it was good.

But just weeks ago I stumbled upon info that you can download the fourteen day free trial from FilePlanet. My interest soon bubbled back up to the surface. I tried downloading it, but instead bought the game when I found the download would take over TWO days on my modem.

Ever since, I have enjoyed the game. I started in the city known as Interhogan and made great friends and room-mates, and even was 'adopted' (no formal adoption in game though).

Overall, the game is great and I recamend it to anyone.

Summary: Don't fall for it!!!
Review: I don't know why they are calling it The Sims Online 2.0 because if you are already playing TSO you DO NOT need this. They are only coming out with this because since the first version came out, some more content has been added making for longer download periods.

While new stuff has been added to the game since its release, all in all, its still the same, boring, mindless chatroom experience dominated mostly by teens or extremely troubled adults
that may act nice in the beginning then turn on you if you dont conform to their ways.

They can keep saying this is a true game until they are blue in the face, because its not a game and never was one.

This is just another scam to get people to buy into what is essentially a pay by the month chatroom with a few game elements thrown in to give the assumption that it is an actual virtual world when the fact remains that its not and never will be.

Take it from a former TSO player who learned the hard way. Save your money and buy something tha gives you a real challenge. You can always chat for free online.

Summary: Okay, here goes.......
Review: I have been playing quite awhile but thats because of the attitude I have towards the game. Yes, there are many people who have left the game due to boredom, broken friendships, mafias etc. However the game is what you make it. One thing you will miss most about the offline game compared to this one is the option to increase time speed. Skilling is not fun, especially if you dont have enough skill locking points. Money making can be boring depending on the house you are at. Many owners choose to do trivia or have contests to promote more fun. It is frustrating starting out with only 10k. Not the mention the horrible lag. It doesnt make sense to put a limited population on the popular cities as someone has mentioned before especially since their servers are half working at the time anyway. Don't get me wrong, I have been playin this game for almos two years now. I like it but I will be honest about the reason why I remain...for the friends I have met. however, everyone will not have the same online experience as myself. Whoever the person was that suggested getting the trial version first, I agree. This game is not for everyone so dont waste your money on something you are unsure about. I also agree with the person who said its nothing like the offline game. So dont go in expecting it to be anything like it. So that this doesnt get too long or boring, I will conclude with this: Get the trial version and see for yourself. Everyone on this board is correct, though conflicting views. So save yourself some money and get the trial first........

Summary: Best game I ever played
Review: I have been playing TSO for almost a year, and I have never gotten bored! I've made a ton of friends in my 11 months of non-stop gaming. Everyday when I log in, I don't know what to expect. That's what kept my attention for so long.

With the new and improved version, there are pets to spend the time with you while you're home, or visit your friend's pets. There are now 3 ways to make simoleons (the currency in TSO) too. When I tested the restaurant and robot job, it made me want to come back. You can still have fun making pizzas, finding your way through mazes or putting your mech skill to use by building gnomes. There are also some new and crazy NPC's. Maids and gardeners are hilarious while they work.

Every house is unique. Some have great designed houses designed by owners, roomies or people who design houses for a sim-living. Great roof arts, too. Inside these unique lots can be anything you can imagine. I've seen golf courses, hotels, restaurants, and a cooking skill lot with a trailer park green area. Be somebody. Else!

The boards are what made me meet a lot of my TSO friends. You get all the info first on the message boards. What's in the latest patch? The boards tell you! It is also fun to read the posts, about the game, your cities, suggestions and a new off-topic board; and post too!

Some people say that TSO is a "mindless chat room." It is a lot more than that! You can gamble your sims hearts out at one of the casinos, listen to one of many radio stations while you play, go to contests, hang out at your friends lot, make simoleons all while your chatting. It's much more than a chat room. Also, every month, there's something new in TSO. Whether it is new features, a contest held by maxis or even something else, there's something new to log into each month.

Summary: Ten dollars a month FORGET IT
Review: I LOVE the sims online...It's very addicting and not to hard to get the hang of. There are tons of people willing to help, especially at Newbies Job-Skill Center in Mount Fuji (A city you can choose to live in in the game). I HIGHLY Recommend it...and if you get on and are in Mount Fuji, and need help drop me (Megan-Beth) a message and I'll be more than willing to answer your questions!
